So far the performance of the UB9000 has been great. It appears to be constructed like a tank. Using it with a JVC projector is great and I am looking forward to its use with a latest JVC projector since from everything I have read it has been optimized to work well with the new JVC projectors. Upscaling of blu-rays to 4k works great. I just wish JVC would publicize their API to allow remote control over IP. Currently taking advantage of the 2 HDMI outputs, one to my projector and the other for audio.

Best DVD player I have seen. Replaced a Sony 800 which was very good but I think this DP-UB9000 is a little better. Picture seems to have more depth and slightly more detail. I wanted to get the best on the market and think I did.

This is hands down the best player picture I've ever seen. I had the 820 before this but this one surpasses it for sure.

I feel like many people praise this thing for no reason. They spent so much money and feel compelled to say good things about it. I have both the $1K blue-ray player and the $400 DP-UB820-K version. These are two similar players. The expensive version has a better build quality and a nicer remote, but that's about it. However, I've had many problems with the expensive blue-ray player compared to its $400 counterpart. The 820-k is much more reliable. Save your money and go with the $400 version; it's better.!!!

Excellent 4k Blu-ray player. Solid construction, quick startup, quiet operation, superb sound/picture quality. The 4k disc playback is the reason to purchase - the streaming apps are extremely limited, so you will still need a Roku, Apple TV, etc.

This is an excellent 4K Blu-ray Player with great sound and options. The picture is awesome and has a lot of choices for setting the sound to your liking

Wow. Unbelievable quality not only with movies but also with CDs. Just wish it displayed CD tracks names.

This is the best blu-ray player I have experienced. The picture and the sound are noticeably better with this player. I previously bought the Panasonic dp-ub820. That's a very good player, and I was skeptical about paying so much more for the ub9000. I'm glad I decided to try it. In my opinion, it is a significant upgrade, worth the difference if you can afford it.

This is one excellent player. The video quality is outstanding. The picture is very film like with great color balance. The audio is also excellent. Build quality also seems top notch. I am glad this player has the 7.1 outputs which i plan on using. Bottom line great player.

I haven't really gotten a chance to use this Blu-ray Player yet, waiting to receive my LG G3 OLED evo 77" TV. Can't wait, I think it's going to be a perfect match :-)

This is a solid unit. Yes, it’s pricey but it’s worth it if you are able to get one. Video and audio reproduction is outstanding.

The best purchase you can make if you are longing for a 4K movie player that can showcase the picture quality and details of your favorite movies missed throughout these years till now. That's what Dolby Vision will do for you.

Overall, an excellent 4K player. That said - if a number of your UHD 4K discs suddenly stop reading correctly (you get "NO READ" on the display after waiting a few moments), try finding the firmware from Panasonic for your region - regardless if it was already up to date. Follow their instructions carefully for transferring the firmware from a USB flash drive to the player. This situation happened to me tonight, and re-flashing the firmware happened to be the last thing I tried (after a soft reset, factory reset, unplugging/replugging, and wiping the discs countless times). Ultimately, that ended up solving the problem and now all my discs work fine! Very thankful I don't need to send the player down to Florida for service...

The player appears to have excellent build quality. Quality of playback of DVDs (I don't own any BluRay discs yet) is excellent with excellent color and no motion effects.

I love this player. The reason is because it has hdr optimizer for movies which looks you adjust the hdr picture settings to your liking. I was very lucky to get this set.
