This was purchased for me on my birthday and I wasn't even in the market for one. I've used it a family gatherings and social functions and it's awesome. I purchased the goggles and it's like I'm in the cockpit of the drone actually flying it.

    Best Drone for the Money

I upgraded from Bebop to Bebop2 for the extra flight time. The customer service at Parrot is the best there is. With my Bebop 1 I lost 2 drones that flew away. They replaced them without any cost or questions. Fantastic. One word of caution, make sure you mount the propellers on the Bebop 2 correctly or it will crash immediately. The colored ones go on the front and the black ones on the back. Each of the colored propellers has an indent that matches the indent on a black propeller which must be mounted diagonally from the other. You need to look closely at the propellers as they are different! I would absolutely buy the flight plan software as it allows you to program a flight plan into your phone and simply press the start button and the drone will fly the plan and return home when done. The software takes a little bit getting used to but if you watch the videos on line you will figure it our pretty easily. Works beautifully.

I saw some other comments about this Parrot Bebop 2 but nothing made me think that this is a bad drone so I bought it. I bought this drone without realizing that drones like this that are affordable and can take great quality photos/videos they're always going to be problems. When I came home after buying this drone I set it up and went through all that I had to, to get it started. When I started the drone up one motor stalled (1 out if the 4 propellers didn't work) so I messed with it doing all that I could to fix it without voiding the warranty, so without a second thought I went to parrot support and they told me to send it to them with everything they told me send, after a month of waiting I recieved my new drone and I ripped open the box (not at all) and set it up and finially started it up. It worked! The quality and the automatic stabilizing features and etc. are amazing unlike most drones DJI, 3DR, etc. this drone has a camera and sure it's not 4K but its at least not more than $800 and then forced to buy a $500 GoPro to see it all. All in all this drone is great it still works after 3 months and if you want a affordable, easy and fun drone this is the best drone for your buck. But remember expect problems with this drone because if you don't your going to get angry when you bring it home to test it out.

This thing is just as capable as DJI. Do you really need 4k resolution? this thing has flown miles with the flight plan app upgrade($20). If you setup the app and all parameters properly you are going to have awesome flights every time! Crashed a few times because of human error. Do not pay more than 400 new.

2 hours spent with technical support in order to find that propellers were installed wrong way because the printed manual doesn't warn about difference between propellers (look the same, but work not the same). The first fly was good within 5 minutes then the FreeFlight 3 app lost the drone. Restarting app, then restarting phone, resetting WiFi did not help to get the dron down. After the battery stopped to work the dron dropped from about 30' and one of the landing legs broke because the plastic is not shock resistant. I'm so disappointed!

If you fly this drone over water, it will void the warranty. Who doesn't want to fly over water? No less than 15 pix on their web site show the Bebop 2 heading for or flying over water. Of course none of those pix show a warning. Why would they if trying to market drones. Customer Service told me that flying over water effects the sensors, which can cause engine failure ( motor cut out ). Really ? Guess what happens if you're flying over water and the motors cut out. Also, I found the "flat pix" the drone takes are of marginal quality and small file size. Sure it has a 14 mpx camera. Takes a nice quality shot in .dng, but the pic is worthless until you fix it - big fish eye distortion. To fix it you need a post 2016 version of Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop. That will cost $10/mo. or $150 for the stand alone. Add that to the cost of the drone if you plan to use or share the pix. The video is good. If you shoot at 1080, flight video only comes back at 470, tho it captures at 1080. Set at 720 and you get to watch the flight at 720 - nice, but no one shoots video at 720. Awkward to change if you run across something to shoot while flying. Find the manual online if you're interested in this drone and read all of it first. Fun toy while it lasts.
