Great entry level Smart Watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased after hearing all the hype of the new iPhone connected smart watch. I also wanted to try and figure out what anyone would do with a smart watch. I was very pleased with it all in all. I use my pebble as an activity tracker with the UP pebble app and the ios up purple app. A little of a learning curve on the connectivity but it has worked great. I also enjoy the battery life I typically get about five days of use. One other feature that I enjoy as well is that it is waterproof, up to five atmospheres, which at the time of writing only one activity band I know of can report of being water proof.

Apple watch who?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this watch after getting fed up with having to constantly keep checking my phone for calls and texts while I'm at work. I can discreetly check my calls and texts from my wrist instead. Not only that, I can control my music from the watch, check the weather, track a package with an app, all from my Pebble. It's water resistant to 50 meters and had a battery that lasts almost a week, even with heavy usage. Pebble has great support for the watch and I added Geek Squad protection just in case the unexpected occurs. If you want an inexpensive, easy to use smart watch with great features, get a Pebble!

Great Product (top of the line)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned several smart watches in the past. This one is by far the best that I have purchased. The battery life is exceptional. It’s not Color, and that’s why the battery last so long. It’s water proof. There are more than enough apps to meet any of your requirements. Thousands’ of watch faces. Very easy to use. It has made a big difference in my day to day operations. I would definitely recommend this, as a top of the line watch at a good price.

Best Smartwatch yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never write reviews, as often it doesn't worth it... but I really want to share my opinion about this great watch. First, I need a smart watch to be a second screen of my phone, I do not want a watch to replacing it. I need a watch which uses the technology already existing in my phone, I do not need to have everything in double. Who wants to charge its watch everyday? Who needs a (bad) camera in his watch? Who want to push a button to display the time? Is a color screen so useful? This little Pebble is amazing, I wouldn't leave it off my wrist anymore. It does a lot and does it very well. A recent software update improved it a lot, and the next version (coming soon) sounds even more amazing. It is compatible with Android and iOS (iPhone) and there is now a little software for Windows Phone, but seems not doing everything yet. The watch displays every notifications coming on my iPhone and displays it on my wrist, calls, SMS, important mails, Facebook, turn by turn direction etc... For the email, it does not displays the complete email, but enough lines to decide if it is important enough to decide if it worth pulling out my phone. My phone is now in silent, the vibration of the watch is enough to notify me. There is a lot of nice software developed by a very active community. There is also a lot of watch faces available, mine displays the weather, humidity, wind, surmise, sunset etc... I love it. The screen is very nice and always displays the time and informations, no need a second hand to turn it on. A simple movement of your wrist will turn on the backlight. We are only at the beginning of the smartwatches era, it's already great with Pebble, and will be even bigger in the future. Yes, it is not touchscreen, but I do not really care... It is not color, but I do not want to trade color with battery life, and I do not really want something flashy on my wrist. This is a watch with a very nice design, very classy, and you can replace the bands with any other one (with the same size), so you can go leather, color.... There is also some wraps available online to protect the screen or personalize it with color, carbon... It is lightweight, I barely feel it on my wrist, yes some will say it feels cheap, but I do not agree, I have it now since 2 months, and it is still in perfect condition. Ah and it is waterproof (for shower and swimming....) Well done Pebble!

Look out for potential problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have 3 Pebble Smartwatches and all three have been replaced by Pebble within the past year. One was replaced twice. Although the watches are fantastic and very useful, the main issue with these watches is the screen. Over time, the screen would become unusable. The display becomes scrambled. If you Google it, it seems to be a common problem. We are not rough with these watches at all. Pebble should be congratulated for their superb service in dealing with the screen issue. They quickly replaced the watches and even sent a pre-paid envelope to return the broken watches. Since the replacements, the screen issue has not happened again. One thing I noticed on the replacements is an updated back cover on the watch. The original ones did not have screens on the back cover. The newer replacements all have 4 screens in the back. Perhaps they changed the way they make these watches so that the screen problem has been fixed. I've attached two photos of what the screen problem looks like.

everything you need need
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research on the Pebble Watch and so hesitant about it but decided $99 bucks wouldn't hurt and planned on returning it if I didn't like it. Three months later and I'm still happy with it. I don't like to leave my ringer on so this has helped a lot with missed calls and messages. The Weather Channel face is awesome but being the geek I am also have the Nyan Cat face. The battery life is amazing. I get about 5 days on a full charge but I also use it a lot playing apps like Tetris and Pong. If all you need is the basic features, then consider this. Pebble is also coming out with a new watch with new features like voice reply and color screen so I may upgrade.

Get connected with affordable WATERPROOF smartwatc
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Affordable Bluetooth smart watch that will change your life even with its lack of current App Store! Set up was a breeze! Not big or bulky. Waterproof!!!! What?! I can swim with it on! And 30ft range! And who needs a camera on their watch? This gadget has changed my relationships. No more beeps or chirps distracting me from my grandma's long winded stories! A gentle vibration on my wrist tells me that my bestie is texting the latest news or that my girlfriend commented on my Facebook status. With a quick glance I'm in the know and no one knows! My family says I'm more engaged. I look forward to the App Store which will offer a swim lap counter and love that it's already linked to run keeper. Lots of cute faces and I get to rock a Seahawks one to the game. When it's over I can change it to something new with one click. Bummer. No color screen. Best buy didn't carry white. Can't text back or voice dial with Siri. No battery meter. Not that I have found anyway. Maybe a new watch face will have it. Very unique charger will probably be hard to replace in a hurry if lost or I forget it when traveling.

This smart watch to me in my opinion is the blue P
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This smart watch to me in my opinion is the blue print of the first real smart watch. The name "smart watch" was to general for anyone to capture until now. What do I mean by that you ask? well everyone and their mother is scrambling right now to corner the market on this new era of wearables, but know one gets it but one company "PEBBLE". We don't need a smart phone replacement, we don't need a double 007 watch that last 1 day, we need a product that can compliment the things we are already comfortable with in our lives, maybe even make them better. This maybe the beginning and the show may have just started, but I say buy your ticket now and enjoy the ride pebble has one amazing ride for you to partake in. As long as they don't forget their core basis(Simple, elegant and it works). The market is theirs to do as they please. Apple understands this same type of workman ship, but not the key to our wallets(pricing). Apple will release a watch and it more then likely will be great, but the cost of of fame(apple brand) will make others look else where for their muse. My final word of the pebble watch is "If you read this entire review then your probably in line or online buying one as you read"... PS BEST BUY YOU ROCK!!!#pebble price tag and insurance

Good Smartwatch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those not willing to pay a lot of money for a fashion accessory, the Pebble watch is a very interesting and capable alternative. While the Pebble (and Pebble Steel metal version) are very good with their black-and-white displays, newer and more expensive 64-color screen versions are going to be shipping in Late Spring 2015 and Summer 2015 - the Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel. And all of their models support BOTH the Apple iOS and the Android OS and have over one WEEK of battery life before requiring re-charging. These watches already do most of the same things that can be done by the new Apple Watch, but are MUCH cheaper - and there are also many apps available and apparently over 1+ million units sold already. The only caution would be to say that the apps currently available are not as "polished" as those you would find in the Apple App Store. [Incidentally in full disclosure, I am an established Apple app developer - but I bought a Pebble for my personal use and have ordered a new Pebble Time Steel that looks almost as good as an Apple Watch but uses buttons - in lieu of a fancy "crown" wheel feature and a higher-resolution touch screen but that only has a one DAY battery life.]

Good for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Pebble Store (apps for watch) Lightweight Battery Life Cons: Design isn't as nice as other brands Pedometers not very accurate Feels cheap Screen has "rainbow effect" For the price, it's great. Although, a better quality screen would be nice. It works though for low-budget smart watch users who don't need a bunch of bells and whistles. I just like it for when I know I'll be out and about not checking or hearing my phone often, it's good for notifying me of calls or texts. Pedometer for general idea is good too, though not entirely accurate. If you're considering watches like the Apple Watch or the Galaxy Gear line, then you shouldn't get this Pebble. The Pebble Time may be a better choice at $200.

Fun toy for geeks, great potential for masses
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Though the lack of software features at this time is a little disappointing, I do not regret my purchase at all! I have had my pebble for nearly 2 months now (ordered it the day it became available on Best Buy's website) and am astonished at the flourishing developer community. Would've given 5 stars if they had done more development before release (small bugs in the OS, big picture features such as internet connectivity missing from the Pebble app, which require 3rd party less reliable apps). I'll break it down like this: External The watch itself looks and feels great, seems sturdy enough to withstand the average person's daily life. I shower with it because I lose track of time easily, and it lives up to the water proof claim, even in hot water, which I had heard was problematic for some. I don't care for the cheap rubber strap it comes with, so I replaced it with a water resistant leather strap I found on Amazon for around $20. Also added a screen protector which covers the entire face (GadgetWraps) because I heard it scratches easily (par for the course for any smartphone owners). Internal hardware Can't complain about anything! Sure some of the Kreyos features would be nice (especially speaker/mic for taking calls) but for the cost and small form factor it's a great piece of hardware. Battery lasts up to 6 days for me, 4 days with an animated watchface. Fully recharges in about 3 hours. Software This is where it gets sorta meh. For now at least. The Pebble company as well as many 3rd party developers are hard at work. Many choices for various kinds of watchfaces are already available, and there's even a website which allows you to make your own custom analog/digital watchface with your own image for a background. Watchapps (including games) are lacking but growing. My biggest gripe is the information transmission/alerts are still a work in progress. For instance, several watchfaces and watchapps require access to the internet via the bluetooth connection to your smartphone, a feature which (in my opinion) should have been implemented in the Pebble app. Perhaps it will be one day, but for now it requires the httpebble app (for iOS, not sure what the Android equivalent is called) a decent app with some minor connectivity problems (just because it says it's connected doesn't mean it always is). The worst part is I now have 3 apps on my phone which communicate with the watch (httpebble, Smartwatch Pro, and Pebble Snap) all with different functions, however the watch can only connect to one of them at a time. Smartwatch Pro works with a companion watchapp, capable of accessing your iOS calendar, Twitter (if the phone is logged in) changing volume (the watch's built in music controls lack the ability to change volume or browse music selection, more features Pebble needs to add) check your phone's battery level, and play a loud noise if you lose your phone but it's still within range of the watch. Pebble Snap allows you to control the phone's camera as a remote shutter release or on a timer. If one of these apps connects to your phone, the others lose their connection. Why is that? These apps lose their usefulness if I have to take my phone out of my pocket to reconnect them constantly. Really all or most of these features should be integrated into the Pebble app, but if they can't or wont do this, they need to figure out a way for multiple 3rd party apps to communicate with the watch simultaneously. Compatibility Some would say Pebble does not deserve the "Excellent" compatibility rating I gave due to the fact that it only supports Android and iOS. First off, there is no point in owning this or any smartwatch unless you own a smartphone and use it a fair amount. My father has an iPhone 3Gs because it was free with contract and he needed a new phone. He mostly uses it for calls, so I wouldn't recommend he invest in a smartwatch unless he starts utilizing more smartphone features. If you are a true smartphone enthusiast and you don't own a device running either Android or iOS, you need to rethink your choice of phone. I don't know anyone who takes the Windows Phone platform seriously (sorry Microsoft, I love your desktop OS, but your phone OS seems like it belongs in a toy compared to my iPhone) and the Blackberry is quickly going the same way as the 8-track or BetaMax. Anyway, that's enough of my rant. Overall, if you're looking to get in on the ground floor of this new smartwatch craze, Pebble is a great option. After many hiccups in mass production, they are finally starting to catch up with demand, and once that is complete they should hopefully have more time for software development. I look forward to the future of Pebble.

Tells more than just time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was looking for a smart watch to go with my smart phone, I consider getting the pebble as it seem the best bang for your buck. The Pebbel smart watch does the basic in providing notifications for text messages, phone calls, and email alerts (with some slight application adjustments) that are helpful to receive when you carry your phone in your pocket. While the "white paper display" can be hard to read when there is glare coming off the display from a bright light source, it is fairly easy to read even in poorly lit areas. Plus, the smart watch has a built in light that can allow you to read it when it is too dark out. So you can read the time at any time (no pun intended). It also vibrates when you receive any alert/text notifications. While other smart watches can do more than the Pebble, they are usually priced much higher and have less of a battery life on a single charge than compared to the Pebble. So if you are looking for a decently priced smart watch that can do the basic notifications for emails, text, and even weather or temperature, then the Pebble is for you.

great beginning smart watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sure, it doesn't have all the features that some do. Sure, it's not a color screen, and sure, it's got a limited number of apps you can get with it. But for the price, this is a fantastic smartwatch. Straight out of the box, it can pair with either an iPhone or an Android phone, and you can easily change it up whenever you get a new phone. It lets you read your text messages, and control your music all from the watch. You can also see who's calling at a glance without pulling out your phone. You can ignore the call with the push of a button on the watch. If you do anything that makes you sweat heavily, make sure that you do loosen the watch up a notch, just so it doesn't rub at your skin so badly. (It started to rub skin off on me while I was mowing the yard recently, and I've discovered that loosening it up a single notch gets rid of that issue.) And while you're at it, make sure that you do keep the watch back and band clean. A quick rubdown of rubbing alcohol on a paper towel does rather well. (Keeps it sanitized, and keeps it clean!) My only issues with it is that ONE: occasionally, (being twice since I got it), it somehow stops getting the alerts - though a quick reboot seems to fix it. And TWO: from time to time the screen goes a little wonky, but nothing a quick button hit can't actually make work itself back out. Overall, if you're hesitant about getting a smart watch because of the fact that they're massive, and have been looking at this one because it's smaller: it's a good watch to use to get used to larger items attached to one's wrist. (I'm notorious for never wearing a watch because they feel funny ad/or just generally drive me nuts to have things on my wrists for long periods of time. I wear my pebble daily, and feel very very strange without it now.)

Much more than a watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using my Pebble since February, as I got it as a reward for backing the Pebble Kickstarter. Since day one it has worked perfectly with my Android phone. I get all of the default notifications (SMS, Calls, Hangouts, Gmail/Email) with no problems whatsoever, and 3rd party apps available in the Play Store have allowed me to push notifications to my watch from almost any installed Android app. In addition several apps add additional functionality like live weather alerts, automatic SMS replies and other handy features. There are even a decent number of arcade-style games available for play on the watch! The notifications are incredibly useful in an office environment. I can leave my phone on silent and still get notified of important events, my next meeting, etc. without having to pull out my phone. At home, the watch is handy because you can get notifications on your wrist when your phone is in another room, which eliminates finding your phone with 20 missed calls/texts from a frantic stranded relative. Since the Kickstarter backer community got their hands on this watch about 6 months ago, there are already hundreds of amazing watch faces ready to use with the Pebble. There are also online 3rd party utilities that allow you to create your own custom watch faces and then push them right onto your Pebble watch. Another thing that may seem minor, but which is important to me is that the Pebble uses a standard 22mm watch strap. This means that you can swap out the default strap for something more comfortable if you want to. The plastic strap that comes with the Pebble is fine, but I prefer something more comfortable and a lot of other recent smart watches appear to use non-replaceable straps. Honestly the Pebble has changed the way I interact with my phone, and how I live my digitally-connected life. Now for some negatives. One of the main problems facing Pebble is the lack of a unified app store. According to Pebble, one is being created but for now you have to download your watch faces from 3rd party websites and you have to search through the Play Store or App Store to find 3rd party apps that support the Pebble. Another issue is that iOS notifications can be spotty. There are issues in iOS 6 that occasionally prevent the iPhone from sending notifications to the watch. Also there is a persistent bug that prevents contact names from showing up on the watch when a call or SMS is received. Some of these are problems that may be fixed in the iOS 7 release this fall as Apple is increasing support for 3rd party accessory devices, but for now these issues impact a lot of users. The issues can also be resolved by jailbreaking your iPhone, but a lot of users don't want to jailbreak. So keep this in mind if you use an iPhone.

Excellent Price & Functionality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Pebble Watch is simple, attractive, and does exactly what a smart watch should do. It seamlessly gives you notifications (text, phone call, email, etc.) from your phone and has an ever growing Pebble app store. If that is what you're looking for at a reasonable price point, Pebble Watch is the way to go. I placed a tan leather band ($10 at Best Buy) on my black pebble for a more professional appearance and it looks awesome. I was amazed at how many people complimented my watch, some even asked if it was an Apple Watch.

What more could you want?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was first looking for watches I actually wanted to get a Fitbit or another sports/monitoring apparatus. I had no intention of buying a smart watch, but I'm glad I did. Why? Because it does everything I need: Monitors sleep Tracks movement Timer Alarm clock Weather app Read texts/email/ any other notifications you may have on it. Controls music or anything you can use your phone to control like a presentation. I think there is a GPS app you can download, too. Different watch faces- you can design your own, too. Oh and guess what? It's waterproof. I can bring it into the pool. Can Apple watch do that for the same price? Nope. I've also dropped it multiple times and so far so good. (Sorry pebble) if you are worried about how it looks: it's not as bulky as you might think. I've worn it with all my outfits ranging from workout, dressy, business casual... You can always change the straps or buy a watch cover if you want a different color than the one they offer. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Great smartwatch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first smart watch and so far I really enjoy this product. It was easy to set up out of the box and I like that it is waterproof to 5 atms. The app store is great and you can get a variety of watch faces and apps for this watch. I can get about 4-5 days on a charge, pebble says 5-7 days. I guess I use it alot. This is about half the cost of other smart watches and granted it doesn't do what some of the other expensive ones do but I don't need the functions of the other watches. I do wish that it had a touchscreen but it's not a deal breaker for me. All in all I am happy with this product. It can only get better!
