After a couple episodes the characters become believeable. You can tell right away the producers spent money making this epic story!

Excellent show that i decided to take a shot on because it was 20 bucks. The premise gives it a leg up on most crime shows and keeps it fresh.

A decent spy/cop series. Some episodes/scenes a bit unrealistic at times, but goes with the genre. For the price, a decent enough series.

Superb new mystery and action series. Great writing, acting, directing. Great work by producer J. J. Abrams and writer Jonathan Nolan (brother of writer/director Christopher Nolan). Easily some of the best television currently on the air anywhere. The vast majority of television is dreck. Person of Interest so far isn't. Several interesting themes: government monitoring of pretty much everyone and everything nearly everywhere. Computerized analysis of behavior, background, etc., i.e. automated profiling of people. Strong big brother theme which is perhaps within the realm of possibility. A wandering samurai in a big city in the form of a former CIA case officer / special forces solider, though it's not clear how much the CIA military types typically work on HUMINT (human intelligence) and develop spies, so that may be a little off. I would classify this as science fiction / mystery / action / thriller. It manages to cover multiple genres well which is a rare thing indeed. There's definitely a very strong action dimension since the hero finds the need to engage in armed and unarmed combat pretty frequently. It's well-presented, super-violent and at the same time not really glorified, which again is unusual. The presentation of instantaneous force is perhaps most like the samurai genre in a definite Eastern zen-like feel, but with hands and modern weapons instead of swords. The premise and plotting are unusually strong. I'll leave it to other reviews to describe those. I'm definitely interesting in buying these on DVD.

One of the best new shows on TV

I watched the pilot of Person of Interest with much trepidation. I like Jim Caviezel (and wondered where he had disappeared to!), and am always interested in a good thriller show or movie, but the plot almost sounded like a bad Minority Report rip-off. Watching it, the pilot certainly had promise - Caviezel certainly proved that he can carry a series like this, with an incredible and almost effortless Clint Eastwood-type performance, and Michael Emerson again shows what a terrific actor he is, but something just wasn't clicking. However, after several episodes, the series firmly established itself as one of the best shows on television. Caviezel and Emerson have developed a wonderful chemistry, and despite the tense, thrilling, and serious tone that surrounds the show, they bring a terrific levity and humor to the show when best necessary, and they are backed by a solid supporting cast, namely the gruff but increasingly-likable Kevin Chapman and Taraji P. Henson, as well as some great recurring antagonists whose identities I don't want to spoil. The writers also do an outstanding job of keeping the premise fresh and manage to mix it up regularly, taking a premise that could become stale and tired really quickly, but really find new things to throw at our heroes. Highly recommended!

    Drama + Action + A Little Comedy = Awesome

So here you are at Season 1 - here's what started it all for Person of Interest. A great package overall on Bluray. Comes with a small booklet for a short description of each episode, which is nice if you forget where you were. Who does that though? Binge watch it! Great acting and an excellent start to what would go on to be a very good series mixing in many elements of sort of high-tech sci-fi, crime drama, and blended well with good comedy and chemistry between the characters. As far as realism goes? Yeah, not really - you'll need to suspend reality for much of it.

    Outstanding first season!

Benjamin Linus lives! Person of Interest is a fast-paced police procedural with minimal police involvement, it's the brain-child of a computer scientist and an ex-military man who seek out justice in the heart of NY. Each week brings a new crime to solve before it happens, which is a unique take on a weekly TV show. The first season is stellar, with the 2nd season just as great. Seek out this show, you'll not be disappointed.

The concept is unique, a team of people who combine their strengths (ex-CIA, billionaire computer genius, NYPD detectives), using information from a top-secret computer to save the lives of people. The technology is captivating, and a bit over-the-top, but makes it a very interesting program, and is certainly my favorite CBS show. Highly recommended!

My wife and I love this show. We have only just now discovered Person of Interest, but have enjoyed it so much. We rented it on Netflix, then saw it was on sale and bought it. We have rewatched some of it, and it is just as good and fun as the first. The stories are interesting and keep you watching. Can't wait to see what comes next!
