Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the enjoyable gameplay and well-developed characters as major strengths of Persona 5. Many appreciate the game's stylish presentation and artistic originality. A minor drawback cited by some players involves loading times. Overall, the positive feedback on the core gameplay and characters outweighs this single negative aspect.

Persona 5 is everything I was hoping for and more. I'm incredibly grateful it ended up coming out for PS3, otherwise I would have missed this gem. The PS3 version looks great and runs well. The only issue I ran into was that load times were pretty bad and relatively common. So if you can deal with that, you're good. Without spoiling anything, I will say I didn't care as much for the plot of characters as I did Persona 4. This game is quite a bit darker than Persona 4. Which is weird to say considering P4 basically started with a corpse. But there was always an air of hope to it to me, even when things got bad. Persona 5 starts off by telling you how screwed you are, and from there things get worse. Even basic things like the velvet room convey an air of hopelessness. It does lighten up, but expect some pretty rough stuff in the first section of the game. As is with all the Persona games I've played, one of the big draws is your social links. Many of the characters are interesting and well-written. And the payoffs for those you truly come close to is excellent. There were a couple I wasn't a huge fan of, but none of that felt as wasted as, say, the mother or student from Persona 4. There's also the bonus that all social links assist you in some way, not just powering up your fusions. As for the gameplay, this is easily the best for me. Non-randomized dungeons feels a lot better. They've brought in the negotiations from the SMT series as well, for better or worse. As a note that may help, there is a tutorial on how to better negotiate with demons. The only gameplay complaint I have is that they really spread the damage types too thinly. You have ten different damage types now. But beyond the core four elements, the weaknesses drop off quite a bit. The biggest thing I love about this game, and indeed this series, is the style it has. It's visually unique. Every screen and menu is oozing with style, standing out compared to most other games. It's really cool in my opinion. If you're a fan of Persona, SMT, JRPGs in general (there are shades of Pokémon here), or visual novels, I'd recommend checking it out. If you have a PS3, this version is cheaper and only really sacrifices load times as far as I can tell.

Persona 5 is a excellent game, and if you liked Persona 4 (golden or not) then you're in for a real treat. Great characters, bold and stylish UI (and everything else really), awesome music, and the new mechanics gives the series a breath of fresh air and makes battles more enjoyable.

This is probably one of the most if not the most stylish game on the PS3. This is a prime example what a 2017 JRPG should be. The characters, the music and the gameplay is all top class. The story is super weird and maybe confusing at times, but it’s the characters and the desire to get to know them that keeps you into it. It’s surprising this game even came out on the PS3, considering the PS4 has been out for over 3 years now. But none of that matters because this game is awesome.

Incredible game and nothing short of perfection, There's no need to get the PS4 version, the PS3 one works just as good and it doesn't eat up memory the way the former does.

One of the best RPGs I have ever played (Japanese or otherwise). Admittedly it is story heavy and can feel slow at first depending on your preferences game wise, but once you get going it is captivating fun. I actually bought this version for my girlfriend, but my ps4 save file has over 200 hours. Definitely reccomend.

Having already finished Persona 5 on the PS4, I wanted to play through the game again and bought a PS3 copy out of impulse. The PS3 copy is basically the same Persona 5 experience that's on PS4. Only complaints I have with it is the reduced resolution (I knew this going into the purchase.) . One thing I noticed though was the loading screens on the PS3 version are a little longer than on the PS4. With that said, I simply put this back in the case and started the New Game+ on PS4 to get more Persona... If you haven't played any Persona games and love JRPG with social simulations with a hip art style and incredible soundtrack, take a few weeks off of work and play this game.

This looks awesome on PS3! Very engaging and visually stunning game, and probably one of the last greats on PS3. Doesn’t hurt that it is cheaper than a PS4 copy too.

I have been enjoying this game so far, the dungeons are great and so are the characters. The updated battle system is also fun, with the combination between the original persona' s negotiation system and the later game's social links.

Over 100 hours of rpg goodness in first playthrough. Cool cast of characters. Half high school simulator and the other half is turn based third person dungeon crawling rpg. It's a masterpiece.

This is the game for you. Obviously, it is not equivalent to real life experience, but the life simulation give this game a unique take on the JRPG genre. The characters are not real people and will never have that kind of depth, but if you want to scratch both the socialization and rpg playing itch at the same time, this might help. UI is some of the most stylish in existence. A bit of a slog as it will probably take you over 80 hours, but it's worth it.

While I prefer the overall murder mystery story of P4, P5 is easily the best gameplay of the series. Getting rid of random dungeons as the primary crawling aspect was a huge help. The side-characters also felt much more well developed and, honestly, useful. If you have any interesting JRPGs and don't mind a graphic novel-like experience, this is absolutely an easy pickup.

This is, hands down, the best Persona game to date. It has the same art direction and style as the game, Catherine, utilized. The battle system is standard JRPG turned based and the story is pretty interesting too.
