A worthy sequel with a fun story. I like Warriors-style spinoffs, but they can feel like a grind sometimes. Not so here--the mechanics were consistently fun to explore. Provides a lot of story but doesn't overstay its welcome. Though, I did skip a lot of side quests that looked like a drag.

Honestly I didn't think I'd like this game because it's a dynasty warriors game. I only bought it because it's a persona game and I'm a huge persona fan. But how wrong I was. The art design, the story, the setting, the gameplay, it's all amazing. You really feel like you're jumping back in with the phantom thieves and stealing hearts. This game is honestly amazing and has so many nods and references to P5 that it makes me so happy seeing all of this come together as a full game. Each time that I play it, I feel like it's going to end up saying "thanks for playing our demo" but I'm so excited when the game progresses. I just can't stop playing.

Persona 5 Strikers is a brilliant title. The combat was a bit worrying for me, but I enjoyed it. A great combo of the Warriors style and the Persona style. I might be more of a turn-based player, but hey, it’s still amazing. The story was absolutely as good as the first game, and it managed to have a similar impact in only fifty hours. The loading times are a bit long, but nothing ridiculous and hopefully Koei and Atlus will patch that soon. As long as you’ve played/watched a playthrough of the first game, because it’s a direct sequel and you’re not going to get it at all if you don’t know the first game’s story.

Strong sequel that may not make sense to newcomers

While not quite as good as its source material, Persona 5 Strikers is a strong sequel to the original Persona 5 with fun combat and a solid story. I highly recommend it to any Persona fan. The art style and music is slick as always, and even normal JRPG haters like myself love this series. That being said, if you don't like Warriors/ARPGs, this might not cause an epiphany. The OG Persona 5 was able to convert JRPG haters, this might not have as much success. The only issue is that it may not make sense if you haven't played the first game. If you're a Switch owner and don't have a PS4, then I recommend looking up a synopsis before playing this. If you have a PS4, I recommend playing Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal first. Royal is better than the OG Persona 5, but Strikers is a direct sequel to OG Persona 5 so some things will be missing if you've only played Royal (Wow this gets confusing). Pros: Good Warriors/ARPG gameplay, strong story, fantastic presentation Cons: Won't make sense if you haven't played the original titles, may not cause an epiphany like the original game if this isn't normally your jam.

Great follow up to the original Persona 5 with an engaging story and original gameplay. It's almost a 50/50 balance between Persona and traditional Warriors style gameplay, but even then you often have to read enemies' movements more than in the other warriors games. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this game is if you haven't played the original Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal, which I think are pretty much mandatory before Strikers. The Switch version specifically runs at a pretty solid 30fps, although the visuals suffer a little from a lack of anti aliasing.

Fantastic game, I'm really enjoying the new action rpg with hordes of enemies versus the more traditional turn based mechanics. I'm happy to see Atlus getting more and more out of their comfort zone. I thought the rhythm game collection was fun, and this is another awesome spin-off. Highly recommend it for any Persona fans, or anyone that wants a fun challenge. I decided to pick my copy up for the Switch specifically because it gives me the opportunity to play it on the go. It runs great on the switch, feels just like P5/P5R on the PS4 did.

really fun gameplay, the combat is much better than i expected and the exploration is something you don't see much of in games like this. the personas and abilities in the game make it more complex than dynasty warriors games often set out to be—not to mention this IS a direct story sequel to persona 5 (not royal). i'd recommend watching the anime if you don't have a playstation 3/4 to play the base game on... it's better than nothing.

I’m a huge fan of the Persona franchise, specifically the P5 group. The battle system took some time getting used to but by the time I was done with the first area, I was good. Storyline is interesting and it’s so awesome to get a sequel story. The conversations have the same charm as in the original games. Console wise, loading times are a bit slower than expected but it’s not all too bad - I picked this up for the Switch as I play on the go. Definitely recommend this to any Persona fan, especially the P5 fans.

A great sequel to the OG Persona 5 game. Although this isn’t a sequel to royal, it does have royal elements throughout the game such as music. The combat is the best thing about this game. Fighting mobs of shadows throughout palaces. You are still able to explore areas outside of the metaverse but which a updated hud screen and new areas. The old ones are still there and you can see not everything has changed since Joker has been gone. I truly think anyone who has played persona 5 needs to get this game!

A solid story and continuation of the Persona 5 storyline. Now, this game is a warriors game. I personally love those, but I can understand those that don't care for that. Music is as solid as you expect Persona music to be. Storyline is arguably above and beyond most other warriors games. I know. The bar isn't high, but it's a point to consider. This a genuine sequel, just in the form of a warriors title. Now, I love the game, so why is it 4 star? One reason only: if you've never played the original game, you're getting dropped into a game with characters and background information you know very little about. That does kind of hurt some of the story's presentation. If you don't care about that or played Persona 5, then ignore the 4 stars and consider it a 5 star game. If that's going to bother you, I would recommend possibly playing the game on PS4 after Playing Persona 5 Royal. At least until Atlus decides to give us the first game.

I wanted to get into the Persona series but was put off by the turn-based fight system. I prefer hack-and-slash over turn-based games. Persona 5 Strikers is perfect because all the characters have different movesets, and it's fun to use different characters in battles. The story itself is pretty good, too. It doesn't feel like a spin-off game; rather, it seems like a fully-fleshed out sequel to the original Persona 5 game.

I’m not a Persona fan so picking this up felt like a leap for me. Now that I’m mostly through the story (working on 6th Jail currently) I gotta say how well this game was made. Having not played Persona 5 I cannot compare it, but I love the art style, hybrid battle system, and the story is interesting! Also it gives you nice breaks with dialouge in the real world so it’s not constant combat which is great. If P5 comes to the Switch I’ll definitely consider picking it up.

Fantastic game and great addition to the persona series. Persona 5 strikers is the latest addition to the persona line up and provides an amazing experience. The combat is fun with a great story that builds on the characters. Also wanted to point out that this is a direct sequel to Persona 5 (no the royal addition) just an FYI for those who were wondering. Highly Recommended!

I fell in love with Persona 5 Royal after playing a little bit of it and was head over heels after finishing it. I loved the characters and this game gives you more of their interactions and another enjoyable story for them to go through. The soundtracks are still awesome. I tend to not enjoy Dynasty Warriors-like games but I was able to enjoy this one for the reasons above.

This a wonderful real-time action RPG game. You can call it a "solid sequel" to Persona 5. I gave it 4/5 due to the cutscenes being a tad bloated. Granted, Persona games are known for it's fun story, however it feels that the games is 50% gameplay and 50% cutscenes. Overall, I still recommend this to any Persona 5 fan.

This game was all it was expected to be. While I'm still new to the combat and controls, I'm quickly getting used to it as it is growing on me. The storyline so far is great and I am very much enjoying the current palace. Another thing to note, the music is not done by Meguro this time around but with the opening music, the composer did an amazing job with keeping the Persona 5 aesthetic while adding that action game like punch.

It a fun game with a good story from what I have seen so far. Does sever as a sequel and does not really reintroduce any concepts from Persona 5. I will note load times can be a bit slow and some model seem slightly rough around the edges. However, Otherwise runs smoothly and well within my expectations for game designed for stronger consoles. So if you don't mind those fault and want portability this is the way to go.

I was really impressed with this game. It seamlessly blends Shin Megami Tensei's turn based combat with Warriors style combat. However it is very much an action RPG, it is not at all a Warriors game. I have not played Persona 5 or 5 Royal (I have played Persona 4 Golden and many other SMT games) but I still really enjoyed the story and had no problem following it. Now I just hope Persona 5/5 Royal come to Switch.

If you played Persona 5, you'd probably like this game, which is a direct sequel to P5(not P5 Royal). Although, the combat is reminiscent of Dynasty Warriors, I would have preferred the turn based action again. This is a must play for basically anyone who liked Persona 5's characters, music, and story and want to play it as an action game with a lot of new content.
