Customers are saying

Customers admire the engaging gameplay, especially the improved story and dungeon crawling mechanics from the original. Many also praise the music and the charming story, with some highlighting the fun factor and the included plush in the premium edition. However, the lack of an English dub is a significant drawback for some customers. A few also mention the game's difficulty as a potential issue for certain players.

An Excellent Sequel and Enjoyment for Persona Fans

Upon getting this game which I preordered day one it was available, I was amazed at how well the Persona 5 cast was implemented into the world of Q. The first Q game for me felt a bit off not having the P5 characters that we all know and love, so having the entire gang together is very enjoyable. Seeing my favorite Persona characters interact and fight along side each other is amazing to see, and it’s even better once you unlock the many different unison attacks where party members team up and destroy the enemies you are fighting. From the simple shop mechanics to the familiar velvet room Persona fusions, Persona Q2 lives up to that simple but a challenge name and makes the game worth playing in my eyes. The Etrian Odyssey style dungeon/labyrinth crawling is used quite well in this game, as exploring entire floors will allow you to unlock treasure chests that hold great equipment that help you on your journey. Of course, it isn’t a Persona game without a great soundtrack, and this game definitely hits the mark! As you progress further and unlock more characters, new battle music can be unlocked and you can even chose which songs you want to listen to while your in battle! The DLC for the game is just like Persona 5’s in that you can purchase insanely good Personas and items and can equip them upon downloading, but there is even some free DLC including health restoration items and Persona 3 and 4 BGMs. So far while playing this game I haven’t seen or experienced any flaws, and despite being Japanese with English subtitles, nothing has taken Persona Q2 away from that 10/10 rating for me.

Best persona spin off game released

Persona Q2 is an amazing mix of the newer generation of persona (games 3, 4, and 5) and a dungeon/battle system to that of the Etrian Odyssey. The story telling and interactions of this game are not as predictable or bland as the original Persona Q. It’s story is not a deep as that of a main console game, and the dungeon and battle system arent as intense as that of Etrian Odyssey’s. It is the perfect mixture of both, making it a very fun game for different types of playstyles. You can very much enjoy it for countless hours nonstop, and it is also a game you can play lightly, picking up where you left off without any trouble getting right back into the story and action. Persona Q had some replay aspect to it in which the cast of 3 and 4 had their own “story”. It was a lot of the same story on both sides, with slightly different context and conversation at some points in the game. The original was very fun the first time around, and relatively repetitive the second time around. I do not feel like this is the case with 2. While they have removed the option of split route, the cast is much bigger. P3P FeMC joins, as well as the whole persona 5 cast! This is both a blessing and a curse; you are essentially “punished” in grinding out more characters since the cast is bigger (a whopping 25), but that also means that replaying the game a second time or third time could end you up with different main parties altogether. The quality of conversation in game makes it easy to get lost and feel like a part of the team, and dungeons aren’t as long as those of the mainline Etrian Odyssey games. Due to the inclusion of P5, the UI and text style has been carried over, making the game just enticing to look at. Combine that with a wonderful soundtrack, and you almost regret that this masterpiece was released on the low resolution 3DS instead of something more potent like the Nintendo Switch. This game requires 0 knowledge of the original Persona Q, and essentially 0 knowledge of the mainline games. However, small references and knowledge of the characters allows you to further appreciate and connect with them in this amazing, perfectly done spin off.

Feels Like Fan-Fiction, But Fun None The Less

The game itself is quite a bit similar to Persona Q. If you haven't played that game, I'd recommend starting there. That is, of course, unless you've only played Persona 5. in which case I recommend checking out at least Persona 4 to start. The gameplay is solid, though the difficult ramps up quickly at parts. And the characters feel less fleshed out to me than they did in their main games. But I don't begrudge that given the immense cast the game has. For the premium edition itself, the extras are nice. The playing cards are a little low-quality in my opinion. But the plush is cute. The art book is underwhelming, but I don't mind too much. Overall, given the low cost, I still am happy to have gotten it.

Only big complaints I have is that there's no English dub and it's on the 3DS of all systems, but if you're like me and loved the original Japanese and can ignore that it's on the 3DS, this game is fun to play. If you're a fan of the first PQ, then you will adore this love letter to fans of the Persona series.

If you're a fan of the Etrian Odyssey games, you'll feel right at home with Persona Q2, a follow up to Persona Q with an unrelated story but all the characters you know and love from the Persona 3, 4, and 5 games. Explore and, more importantly map, your way through several themed dungeons with your 5 member party of your choosing. Classes don't exist unlike Etrian Odyssey, but instead each character gets a main and sub persona to fit their needs. Music is fantastic, gameplay is great if you enjoy dungeon crawlers and the presentation and style are on up to the standards set by Persona 5 itself.

Persona q2 is an upgrade from the first one. Art style is amazing and combat still feels good and still challenges you with the F.O.E. but nonetheless it’s still an great story, The only thing I’m sad about is the whole game is in Japanese and everything is not subtitled so my girlfriend have to translate a lot of the combat quotes and it’s kinda annoying because they don’t say the same thing twice so lf I missed it I missed out...overall still an great game!

I don't regret picking up this game, even though I never played the first installment. I like the graphics, the music, the characters, almost everything about it. I thought I wouldn't like it since it's a first person, but I've grown accustomed to it already and I actually like it. If you're a Persona fan, then this is the game for you!

This will probably be the last game I get for the 3DS and this definitely finished my collection with a banger. It was unfortunate that there were no English voices, but it expanded upon Q1 and getting to see interactions with the characters in Persona 5 was refreshing.

The LE goodies are great for fans of Persona. Game itself is what a sequel should be. The story and gameplay frustrations from the first are fixed. Awesome addition for fans of turn based dungeon crawling RPGs.

A game for die hard Persona fans who also enjoy grindy dungeon crawlers. Persona fans will enjoy this unique crossover setting and seeing all their favorite characters banter with one another. And the rpg gameplay very much follows Atlus's Etrian Odyssey series template. So first person dungeon crawling with meandering labyrinths and a fair amount of grinding.

Much like the original Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, Persona Q2 runs on the Etrian Odyssey engine and the gameplay focuses on dungeon crawling and drawing your own map on the touchscreen. Compared to regular Persona games, it's very grindy, even on the lowest difficulty, and the story is somewhat minimal, but if you're a hardcore Persona fan, you should still pick it up.

Persona Q2 is the 2nd Persona Q game on the 3DS and is by far better paced than 1. PQ2 features the casts from Persona 3/P3P, Persona 4, and now Persona 5 in a fanservice mix with EO style gameplay. The only negative i can think of is if you are use to the English voice cast, this only has English subs.

the original persona Q was a really quirky and original RPG game which used characters from the Persona 3 and 4 series. This new entry uses characters from Person 3, 4 and even 5 and centers around Joker the main character of Persona 5 and friends as they travel through film environments in a dungeon crawlers RPG style play style. The premium edition has lots of extras and it's definitively a worthy addition to any 3DS collection.
