Wish I got a juicer long ago. This is a great little device to make fresh juice. So far I've done only Apple in the juicer, but wow the difference between the juice from this and even the fancy organic stuff I get is night and day. The Juice from this is like sticking a straw into the apple and drinking straight from apple. Overall this is a fairly easy device to use and juice with a few caveats that I don't think impede the use of this wonderful device. I like it for one because of it's small footprint. I don't have a lot of space and this was able to fit without any fuss. So a win, but because of the size the fruit/nuts need to be cut into fairly smallish pieces to fit the tube to be juiced. Not a bad thing, just a bit fussy. The other fussy part is there is no indicator light I saw to show that the catch for the pulp is properly seated. Took me playing with it a few times to make sure it was seated correctly for the juicer to turn on. A little LED would have been a nice touch. But no big deal. Just fiddly and totally worth it for fresh 100% juice. A glorious thing. In theory fresh almond milk too. But I haven't tried that yet. Otherwise I like it. Comes apart easy and so simple to clean and store I'm impressed and enjoying this. If you want juice this is totally device for you.

When our juicer arrived, we were very excited to get started making our own juuice combinations! Upon opening the box, all the pieces and parts were separate and needed to be put together. No big deal as it is pretty simple and the instructions do a decent job of illustrating what needs to be done. I expected the juicer to be bigger, but was pleasantly surprised by it's compact design. It fits nicely on our counter. This juicer is amazing. I extracts every last bit of juice from whatever you feed it. For my test run, I cut up some apples and fed them to the juicer, peels and all. The juice was delicious, there were no chunky bits or anything. When I went to empty the refuse bin, I was pretty amazed to see how little of the apple was left. It was like it had been reduced to apple dust, lol. Fruits with thin skins (any skin that you eat) go right through it. Thicker skinned fruits, like oranges, need to be peeled. When using oranges, make sure you get rid of the white pith otherwise your juice may taste a little bitter. Cleaning is a breeze. Everything comes apart easily and rinses clean in a snap. All in all, this juicer is everything we wanted and expected it to be. Philips makes quality products and this juicer is nothing less. Buy with confidence.

So far really good. We use a couple times per day with no issues. Clean up appears difficult at first, but the unit comes apart easily and is easy to rinse and wash. Very compact, so takes very less space in the drying rack. Extracts excellent fresh juice from basic fruits. No issues on carrots, potatoes, or other hard type of vegetables. It blows through fruit, although I don't think we've tried banana or mango yet. Very easy for first time setup and use. Super light weight and easy to move from one place to another. Forward button helps in extracting the final juice left over in the machine. The pulp gets accumulated very neatly in the collector. The juice collector's lid is very helpful for pouring the juice into cups or glasses. Overall, an excellent product for the juice lovers. I don't find anything negative in the product so far. Would definitely recommend this to my friends who are willing to pay a little extra for fresh juice.

The Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juice Extractor is just amazing, simple as that. I received it at 3pm and by 330pm, I had my first glass of juice. Assembly is quick and painless, I do recommend giving the parts a quick was before use though. I grabbed some green apples right away and cut them into slices and cubes to test which way was better. Well, it doesn't matter, this thing just eats fruit up like nothing, peels and all. I then tried oranges, pears, kale, and zucchini, all went through without any issues. The juice is pulp free and my kids are in love, I have not seen my kids drink that much juice in a long time. The pulp that is left over is almost dry, the Phillips juicer does a great job getting as much juice out as possible saving you money. Pros: Quiet Fast Assembly Easy to clean Little waste Compact design Looks good Great quality juice No more pre bottled stuff for my kids Fast juicing Cons: None! I highly recommend this juicer, I am hooked on this, never thought I would be.

    Great juicer

This is my first juicer so I had a bit of learning to do upon receipt on the assembly, proper usage and recipes that this could be used for. I would feel that overall it is a good juicer for a first-time user. This unit comes in a pretty small package in my opinion but to achieve this there is a bit of assembly required. To a novice, some of the pieces don’t make much sense since they are not represented in the quick assembly guide but can be explained in the manual. This is a bit of an annoyance but not hard to figure out if you are willing to read a little bit. Once you have it put together I tossed a few different fruits and veggies in there to see how it performs in various conditions. First, an apple. It worked flawlessly and going about 8 oz or so out of a single apple. Oranges and berries were a bit more of a challenge since the soft pulp did not always work its way through the system. More fibrous items such as carrots also fare well. Having no juicing experience, I was surprised that it took so many oranges to get juice out and I am sure this is very fruit specific seeing as how an apple could fill up a cup easily while it took three oranges to get the same. There is a small included recipe book which has some great juice recipes. It also comes with a small jug you can put juice into and seal up for later, or you can juice straight into a cup. There are plenty of nice touches on this unit that makes it feel premium and well thought out. The metal accents and hard plastic feel very sturdy, and the unit looks great in a kitchen. If you plan on storing it the cable wraps around the base in a groove that is designed for that purpose. Here is the main reason I took a star away. The unit advertises one-minute easy cleaning but it often doesn’t work that way. Some items are very simply to clean due to the quick disassembly. Some items such as oranges have much more intensive cleaning. Your first assembly and disassembly will be a bit of a puzzle but once you get used to it is no big deal if you plan the cleaning time.

I welcomed this juicer as I was excited to see what it can do! Firstly, it’s smaller than I anticipated because in the past, I’ve seen juicers that were much larger. Putting it together was an easy assembly. Thereafter, I tried a banana and strawberries that I had on hand. The juicer cannot take massive chunks at one time; therefore, I had to really cut my fruit up into finer pieces which was a little more time consuming than I’d liked to have encountered. Nonetheless, the result was well worth the cutting of tiny pieces because the machine produces a really good fruit smoothie! I didn’t experience no strings from the fruit or excess particles. I would recommend this to someone who likes to make smoothies and other drinks on a smaller scale.

The Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juice Extractor works well. I love the slim, lightweight design which allows for versatile positioning in several kitchen areas. However, the smaller size does force a little bit of extra prep time of the ingredients to get everything small or narrow enough to put through the juicer. Not that big a deal, but a bigger unit might be preferable to some. The machine is loud but not nearly as noisy as some other juicers I've used, and operation is simple. The included recipe book is nice, but I was able to create a number of wild combinations using the juicer without worrying about portioning, taste viability, healthiness, etc. Ginger everything, I say! A plus is being able to make your drink directly into your glass and not worry about the mess with the drip stopper spout. The parts are easily detachable and simple to reassemble. Cleanup isn't as quick as advertised (I think a minute is quite a reach, especially for some ingredients), but it's easy enough to not be burdensome over several uses if you can plan for the cleanup ahead of time. The first time I cleaned this was a little bit of a headache. Overall, this unit is a great juicer for on-the-go or quick energy drinks, especially for people short on kitchen area and want a well-designed, no-frills machine. Just leave time for cleanup. Full disclosure, I was provided this item for my honest, unbiased review.

Simple Way to Make Great Juices

This is my first juicer so I am looking at this Philips juicer from a novice perspective. Out of the box it was quick and painless to set up. Easily took less than five minutes to get rolling. My wife picked up a couple bags of oranges so I could see if morning fresh squeezed orange juice was practical. Let me start off by saying that in my world it is not. It isn't the fault of the juicer, but the time it takes to peel and juice five oranges for one glass of orange juice is simply more time than I am willing to give up. The chute that you feed the fruits and vegetables into is rather small so you will need to cut most things to get them in the machine. That said, the Philips juicer did a great job of producing some really tasty orange juice. Also of note is that the juicer has a valve at the spout to control the flow of juice to your glass/receptacle. Handy when you have filled up your glass and don't want the rest of the juice running all over your counter-top. After a couple of glasses of orange juice (read: 12 peeled oranges later) for the family to try it was time for the cleanup. Now I had read several other reviews from people noting the difficulty in cleaning the unit, but my experience was quite the opposite. The machine breaks down quickly and everything rinses quickly. If it took me more than three minutes to cleanup I would be pretty shocked. It was painless. The juicer comes with a recipe book of 20 different juice drinks to consider and my wife is already plotting her first juicing experiment. It also comes with a tub for juice collection if you are looking to make more than a glass full. The tub has measurement graduations on the side and a lid for storage. Overall, I am pretty impressed. It does exactly what it is designed to do and I couldn't ask for more.

This is my first juicer (aside from the old-fashioned hand-juicers my grandparents had) so my experience is a bit limited. Unpacking and assembling the juicer is very easy. It snaps together in a way that makes sense, but the instructions are provided if you need to refer to them. It took maybe two minutes to put together and plug in. It comes apart just as easily! As far as making juice goes it seems to do a very good job. My wife and I tried a few recipes we found online. Mixtures of carrot and celery juice, limes, pineapples, apples and strawberries. The juicer seemed to grind them all and extract quite a bit of juice without any problem. There are mixtures of pulp and fruit left in the machine, but it's a much smaller amount than what I was expecting. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly "no mess" but more "very little mess." There was definitely some bits escaping--mostly from the feed tube. Not a lot, but enough that if you're a clean freak it might bother you. If you are a clean freak the best part of this juicer is how easy it is to disassemble and clean. As mentioned it comes apart quickly and easily, which makes cleaning it a breeze. For things like this I generally hand wash, but it is described as being dishwasher safe. Overall this juicer does the job and is easy to clean. If you're very into juicing this should do the trick!

Would be 5 star, but the manual...sheesh

So first off, the good. The juicer works. It takes a few minutes to figure out how to put it together because the manual is awful. More on that at the end. So there's basically 8 pieces to the unit. I used hot water and dish soap to clean the pieces and nothing is sharp as long as your careful. Once it was washed, I inserted the screw drive, the back cap (turn to lock, there's even a little padlock on it to show you where to line it up), the filter (black, more on that later) the front cap and drip button, then the push stick on top. I peeled an orange and ran it through the juicer. All the pulp ended up in the cup and the juice was pretty well strained. I then broke down the unit, rinsed all the pieces off with hot water and put it back together in minutes. Now the bad. The manual doesn't make sense. It has a picture of 8 steps, but the instructions refer to a number of steps above 8 and you just have to wing it. It refers to a grey filter if you like pulp, but no grey filter is included, at least I didn't find one. The picture on the box is more help than the manual. All in all, the unit and recipe book are great and if someone would spend a few hours fixing the manual, this unit is a 5 star unit.

    A Good Mastigating Juicer

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

    1. packaging and assembly firstly the packaging, it is slim and does not make it feel like it is a full sized juicer. that's a good thing the instructions are very straightforward, i just looked at the pictures to assemble it and did not even have to read the instructions. it comes with 2 bins, on for collecting the juice and the other for pulp. 2. Making the Juice. i do have a jack lalanne juicer which i use regularly before getting this, my son loves fresh juices (Oranges). So i have to say that i am comparing a centrifugal juicer vs a masticating juicer. Now, for those who do not know what a centrifugal juicer is that these types of juicer operate at very high speed, they crush the produce and push them against a porous wall where the juice the flow through the pores and the remains of the fruit is collected in a containter. Masticating juicer push the fruit through a crusher and then the juice is separated from the fruit and flows into a container. they operate at low speed and they also have a small opening vs a larger opening on the centrifugal juicer. Now using the Philips Avance Juicer, I tried first with apples and i have to say that i got a lot more juice as compare to the jack lallanee juicer so i have to believe that mastication is not just a gimmick Next i tried some carrots, i did have to put in a little more pressure as compare to the jack lallane juicer but again the quantity of the juice was pretty good. 3. Pros and Cons Pros - - more nutrients are retained and more juice extracted - tastes better much better as compared to the regular centrifugal juice - you can store the juice longer - cleaning is easier, much better than the centrifugal juicer cons - - the feeding tube is small as compared to centrifugal juicer

Sleek and Quiet Juicer, but Messy Aftermath

At first impression the juicer looks sleek and very modern. It looks nice in the kitchen and it's not very big, so it doesn't take up a lot of space. I put in the kitchen island next to my other kitchen appliances. The juicer comes with a manual (which is terribly written) and a juicer instruction book so you can create new drinks (great help!). Putting it together wasn't complicated although there are 8 pieces to put together. I've never used a juicer before but this was a nice one to start with, I made juice w/ apples, oranges, and pineapples. It was delicious. Although it does get messy. I never knew how much fruits goes into a single cup of juice. The cleaning was not hard, used hot water and soap and it was good as new. It was a bummer about all the pulp left behind but then again that's the norm w/ juicer i guess. I like this juicer, its compact, sleek and it does its job. I would recommend to anyone. I'll be using this for my spinach, pineapple, and apple juice in the mornings.

    A Modern Juice Extractor

I have been using various Juicers/Blenders over the years. I was particularly excited to get this one as this is a Masticating Juice Extractor/ For those of you unfamiliar, this utilizes something similar to an auger to slice the products into little pieces and crush them as they pass further along the auger. Based on the yields I got, I would say it is fine. Not to bad but not crazy awesome as well. Overall I was satisfied with it. Pros: -The juicer is easy to put together, although the first time it took a bit of studying the picture instructions. -The juicer is easy to clean, literally takes less than 5 minutes to take apart and rinse. -Easy to use, the auger takes down most ingredients with ease, meaning you can juice just about anything. (I still have not tried nuts). -Sleek and modern, takes up very little space and looks great in the kitchen. Cons: -Small feeder tube, although this looks to be standard on these types of juices.

I am new to juicing and wasn't sure what to expect with this product. There are many different types of juicers out there so it can be a little overwhelming at first. When I received the product I was excited to try it. It was pretty easy to assemble and clean after using. It's not bulky and looks very modern to go with any kitchen. I do like how it has a drip stop function. Cons It's easy to lose the detachable parts. I have never used another juicer but I feel like a lot of the juice was still in the pulp. You have to press down firmly feeding the machine with vegetables. Otherwise overall I would give this product a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this to a friend who wants to start juicing.

Sorry I really want to love or like it , it's a beautiful product but doesn't do what is supposed to to correctly, a LOT of waste. Please buy the centrifugal machines with a large receptacle, this one you basically have to chop or dice the veggies to make it fit and that is a lot off unnecessary work.

this juicer is fantastic. very elegent design, simple to clean and even easier to use. it's a lot quieter than I was anticipating too, which is a plus. the opening isn't very large (due to its narrow design), so anything larger than than the thickness of a banana would need to be cut up.

I've had juicers in the past, and they all worked fine, but they all suffered from the same issue: they wer hard to clean. That isn't the case with the Philips Masticating Juicer. It can be cleaner in just a few minutes, which means you will be a lot more likely to use the juicer. In the past, cleanup has always caused my juicers to go into disuse. The other issue I have had with past juicers is that they take up a lot of counter space. The Philips Juicer is very slim, meaning I can leave it out. This is another great aspect to this juicer, as I would forget I even had my other juicers since they weren't out where I would see them. Juicing is a great way to eat healthy, get your fruits and vegetables, and this is a juicer you won't regret having.

I've never had a juicer before. But I figured why not. I unboxed it and got it put together pretty quickly. Read through the manual and picked out some recipes to try. I headed out to the store to grab some fruits and veggies. It was super easy to juice everything, and it did an amazing job of grinding every last drop of juice out of my ingredients. The absolute only con in my opinion is having to cut things up so small to have to fit in the chute. An opening maybe twice the size it is would be really helpful. Cleaning is hands down as easy as they claim. You take the grinding shaft out and simply rinse it off. It's a breeze! The device takes up little shelf space and does a great job. I recommend it to those who are really into juicing.
