I am new to juicing and people that juice regularly are telling me that masticating juicers are the only way to go and a real cost saver because of all the juice you get out of it compared to a regular juicer. This particular juicer is REALLY super easy to clean. It really does what it says it will do and, for beginners like myself, it is something that will help you want to continue on your juicing journey because of the ease of use and cleanup of the product.

The Phillips Masticating Juicer was easy to clean, easy to set up and easy to use. We made the "Farmers Market Juice" with a handful of strawberries, 1 apple, 1 cucumber, and 2 carrots... it tastes great! It made 20oz of juice. Can't wait to try it on our lemons once they are ripe for homemade lemonade. Perfect for those wanting to add veggies or fruit to their diet. Much better than store bought juices with added ingredients.

This is the first time I'm using a "masticating" juicer and I'm quite impressed with it. The design is sleek and looks cool on a kitchen countertop. Initially, I had to refer to the user guide/quick reference sheet to learn how to assemble it properly, but after a couple of times I longer have any trouble. There are 7 elements that come together to get the juicing done besides the main motor unit. This includes a 2-piece filter, a juice outlet with stopper function, a pulp/residue outlet, the main screw-like masticating unit, a tubular body, a berry tray and a pusher. There're also a pulp and a juice container with lid. A good recipe book is also included to start with some great ideas for juicing. After "assembling" the parts, using the juicer is a breeze. You just out the fruit/vegetable into the chute and use the pusher when the unit is turned on. There's only two buttons on the juicer - an on/off button and a "Reverse/Pre-clean" button. When it's on, the screw keeps rotating in a single steady pace - there's not speed control. As the fruits/vegetables are pushed down, they get caught in the screw and slowly juice starts to flow through the juice outlet. The pre-clean button turns the screw in the other direction for a short duration - this helps to get the residual juice out of the chute. One good feature of this is that the unit can't be turned on if the elements are not assembled properly. The pulp contained needs to be seated properly as well. Cleaning the unit is really easy, but I didn't find it possible to properly clean "in 1 minute" as advertised. Since there's no blade or sieve like the traditional juicers, you don't need to spend a lot of time to get all the tiny particles out of the unit. Disassembly is easy once you get the hang of it, and a nice rinse under running water is quite enough for temporary cleaning. The only thing you may need to spend time is the filter unit - it's made of plastics and can get damaged if you're not careful. Also I found that cleaning gets tougher if you leave it for some time - it’s much more easier if you clean it immediately after juicing is finished. Some of the downsides I found are: - Juicing takes a bit more time than traditional bladed ones (but you are getting more juice in exchange) - The entry chute is not that big, so if you plan on making a large serving you have to be patient - The cord storage part is a joke - the cord does not stay wound in any way - As I mentioned, the filter part seems a bit to flimsy to me Overall, I like the juicer as it's a very convenient unit. The price is also comparable to similar juicers. I highly recommend it.

If you're interested in making your own juice this is great for beginning. Easy to clean, easy to maintain fast to put together and break down. This unit is a bit pricey and doesn't warrant most people money's worth more when you know what's going in to your body.

This is a great juicer. Clean up is super easy. Have tried grapes and carrots and it was great. Look forward to trying many more combinations. Comes with a small recipe book. It has a sleek design and does not take up a lot of counter space.

Upon pulling this product out of the box and setting it up use was easy. Following the instructions and recipes I was making good tasting fresh juice. The only thing o don't like is that it takes several fruit pieces to make a cup. You can modify the drinks any way you want once squeezed. Like adding yougart, milk, and or sugar. Still it is easy to use.

I started a juicing detox program, and this product is an integral part First off, the directions are kinda weak. You will fumble around for a few minutes since they are not complete, but it is fairly easy to figure out The vegetable chute is fairly small, so you will have to pre-cut the veggies down smaller than usual to get them to fit The unit is not very loud, operates smoothly (little vibration), and the end product is near perfect. I had the same drink made fresh before by a specialty grocery store, and I actually thought that my home batch was better at a fraction of the cost Clean-up us very simple, and the units plastic parts only stained a little from the turmeric. Overall this was a very sound investment in my families health

I have had juicers before and this one is good. It fits a need at the moment. Down the road I may spend more as this is more of a need. However for just me and no one else a few times a week this is just fine and clean up isn't as bad as others.

Having never owned or operated a juicer, I wasn't entirely sure I would be able to make good use of it or be confident in cleaning it after use. I am pleasantly surprised and happy to announce that this little device juiced carrots just as easily as cucumbers and cherries, and was SO easy to clean for the next juice. The instructions included are simple to read and understand.

Have to cut already cut fruits/veggies

I think that having to cut already pre-cut fruits/veggies kind of defeats the purpose of a juicer. I understand that in order to make the unit small, some sacrifices had to be made, but I'm sure that the entry point could have been made larger without having to increase the juicer's footprint. There's a standard size of pre-cut fruits/veggies. I think if this standard size would have been taken into account, then the juicer would have turned out much more useful. Other than that, the juicer works well, like any juicer should but clean up seems a bit more involved than what one would think from reading the marketing.

This is my first experience with a juicer and I really like the ease of use with this juicer. Out of the box it requires a few small easy steps for assembly. (I hate that the directions only show pictures.) Once assembled, I cut up some fruit and started juicing. I've heard of some juicers being really loud but this one is not loud at all. It works really well. Clean up is one of the best things with this juicer. You just take out some of the parts, rinse, and you're done. It is very slim so that it can fit on your countertop without taking up a lot of space (although I will store it somewhere else). I haven't had any other juicers to compare this one to, but after using it a couple of times I would recommend for a first timer.

I've had this for about a week... Pretty easy to assemble and take apart I like the LED safety light, it lets you know if its assembles correctly, and as a safety feature it wont work if its assembled incorrectly. The "chute" that you put the fruit into seems small, you have to cut up pieces pretty small to fit in there, it would have been nice to have a bigger "chute". The juice container is small, i think this juicer is made as a single serving type, I'm not sure of the exact volume it holds, but it isn't enough for more than 1, maybe 2 people.

I was looking forward to testing the unit, but was disappointed when I first used it. Putting it together seemed easy enough, however when I plugged it in nothing happened. I tried again and again over a couple days. I reread the instructions multiple times and googled how to set it up. I was about to give up and started messing with the container that catches the juiced leftovers. You have to push it in until it clicks or it will not work. The directions inform you that several other parts will not work if not properly installed but I do not recall seeing anything about making sure it clicks when inserted. I bought several oranges to have freshly squeezed juice for breakfast. Two large oranges and a half a pack of strawberries barely made a 16 ounce cup. The unit seems sturdy and does what it is designed for well once you get it working. It may work well for some but for me it is too much work and costly to use. I prefer to buy my juice already made and save the cost and hassle. If you have the extra time and money to throw away, it will get the job done.

Overall it could have been a better juice extractor. However, there are certain things makes it hard to give it full rating. So many small pieces in the augur mechanism that makes very difficult to clean the unit after each use. You have to really cut fruits and veggies into smaller than medium pieces. All those extra efforts of cutting and then hard to clean parts makes me think twice before I use it again. I like carrot juice a lot and "Avance" made me disappointed - it doesn't even extract 50% of juice from carrot. All other veggies and fruits I have tried so far get at least 80% of juice out of it. Overall, I am not fully impressed with Philips - Avance Collection Masticating Juice Extractor.

This juicer is a wonderful product. At first, all the parts seem a bit much to clean every time, but it really doesn't take long at all. The unit isn't messy at all. The juice produced is nicely strained and there's hardly any pulp which I really like since I'm not a fan of pulp. There's a juice cup and storage lid so you can make quite a bit of juice at a time. I look forward to exploring and creating different combinations of healthy fruit and veggie juices.

Cleanup is Simple, Juice Needs Straining

The slim design makes for easy storage on the counter or in the cabinet. I thought the drill would rotate faster but it still extracted all of the juice AND most of the pulp. The "sieve-free design" probably makes for an easier cleanup, (just rinse it off) but that just gives you an extra step (and an extra dirty dish) to sieve the juice separately if you don't want the pulp. I wouldn't recommend this for first-time juicers, but it's good for those who make juicing a lifestyle. It's all about preference.
