So, so happy with this purchase! I have literally stopped using my regular blender and food processor. I have use this with one hand, at whatever speed I need, it's not heavy, and handles everything from smoothies, soups, chopped nuts (!), baby food, eggs....anything. I'm going to get the attachments, like the mixer, and toss my hand mixer too. Love it!

I had a large container of cut-up pineapple chunks left over. I put about half of them into the cup and blended them down in no time. Then I added crushed ice and made a delicious pineapple smoothie. A couple of days later, I made a quick sauce from over-ripe strawberries. I added a little lemon liqueur and a dash of honey to the strawberries and brought them to a boil. The Philips hand blender make quick work of smoothing out the sauce, which was delicious over vanilla ice cream. I look forward to using the blender to make hummus, pesto, aioli (garlic mayonnnaise), salad dressing and black bean soup in the future.
The Philips ProMix blender is ergonomic, powerful and sturdy, and is easy to clean. Just push the large button near the top of the blending blade attachment to remove. The three-sided blending cup is also ergonomic and has a pouring lip for no-spill cooking.

Philips - Avance Collection ProMix Hand Blender - Black
Wow. I’ve been using a different brand hand blender for years and thought it was great, but this Philips blender is better in several ways.
First, it’s so much lighter! Blending a large pot of soup is so much easier when your hand doesn’t tire from the weight of the tool. The ergonomic grip and the easy-on button (which ramps up in speed the more you press on it) make blending in a large pot very easy.
There are no other blades with this model, but I found that the one included was up to every job I tried. You can purchase other accessories separately.
This model is 300 watts which provided more than enough power for everyday tasks such as soup and smoothies. Honestly, If I have to blend a lot of ice or frozen fruit, I’m going to reach for a blender over a hand blender anyway.

Included- Hand blender, beaker, instruction manual, and recipe book.
If you are looking for a hand mixer to blend up baby food, soups, sauces, batters and drinks, this is a nice appliance. The device is comfortable to hold and operate. I like that pressing the trigger with different pressure controls the speed of the blender. Though the motor is 300w and can tackle frozen fruit, it warns not to use on ice. I usually add ice to my smoothies so I wish that could be included. I also wish the beaker was larger or there were a couple different sizes. But the ProMix hand blender is great for specific tasks. I'm looking forward to making some really creamy mashed potatoes this fall and winter!

This great and handy blender is good for blending your favorite sauces, fruits and vegetable juices ,mixing soft ingredients like batters or mixing drinks. This hand blender will not process ice cubes or frozen ingredients, but any other soft fruits , or batters will do just fine. The speed touch with turbo boost let you choose from low to medium or high speed. This blender comes with a great recipe book to help you make your favorite food and drinks , also you can buy different accessories to attach to this awesome blender. I use my hand blender mostly to prepare drinks and mix my pancake batters.

The hand blender is lightweight and easy to assemble. The plastic cup that holds the food to be blended is a nice diameter with helpful measurement markings. I pureed 1 1/2 cups peeled tomatoes in 15 seconds. The motor is a soft, nonabrasive noise. No splashing occurred. The blender does not stand upside down, so it must be laid down when not in use. The spout of the clear plastic cup is very helpful in pouring pureed contents into freezer bags. Clean up is a breeze. I think it would be great for pureeing soup.

I have always wanted a handheld mixer to make soups and sauces mainly. The Philips - Avance Collection ProMix Hand Blender is compact and easy to use. I especially like the ease in which it can be washed and stored. We have used it to make smoothies and it worked perfectly. The smoothie was a great consistency and mixed throughout. I look forward to making my own whipped cream for the holidays and trying it out for salad dressing and mixing gravy. Overall, very happy with it so far.

This blender wasn't quite what I expected, but I'm still very pleased with it.
The blender comes with a small recipe book and a measuring / mixing container. The recipe book didn't have anything that really appealed to me, but that's a matter of personal preference. The mixing container is just thin, cheap plastic; and I don't expect it to survive terribly many uses.
The grip on the blender is well shaped and easy to hold. There's a bit of a texture to it to keep it from slipping from your grasp.
The on/off switch also controls the speed. This caught me by surprise. It's really not so much of a switch as it is a spring loaded button. The more you press it, the faster it goes. This is both good and bad.
If you're mixing something for an extended period, you need to make sure that you're keeping fairly even pressure on the button. I had to blend for five minutes, and a couple times my hand slipped a little and I dropped speed.
I'm relatively young and in good shape, but I would not recommend this blender for anyone with arthritis in their hands.
All in all, I'm very pleased with this blender.

I really like this Philips hand mixer. It’s great for handling my light work, such as my after workout shakes. I love the convenience of mixing up my protein shake that also includes frozen fruits. It leaves the blend smooth and lump free. I don’t recommend trying to blend shakes for the family but as a personal mixer it’s top notch. Cleans easily and stores with minimal space, I throw it in my gym bag and use it to get a quick shake in preworkout as well.

This hand mixer while not large in size; nonetheless, it packs a powerful punch! I tried it out by blending some eggs for breakfast and man, it was “whip quick and savvy!” It blends quite well and I am so looking forward to putting it to extended usage as the holiday season is nearing. I enjoy baking; therefore, this little kitchen “elf” will be the perfect partner this upcoming holiday season.

I tried one of these years ago when I lived in the Netherlands and didn't care for it. But, many friends swear by it and, since I now have a stand mixer, thought I'd try again The first thing that struck me was how heavy it is. That was a worry. Going on, the grip is wonderful, comfortable and positions my hand so controlling it is a breeze. The cord is long enough that I don't have to make a space to use it but have an outlet within easy reach from any of my counters or stovetop.
I tried it first just using water to see how it would work if I needed to rest it on the bottom of the container due to the weight. While it works okay if you start by resting the hand blender on the bottom of the container, if you start off the bottom and then put it down, you get a real good flow that continues. It worked great making a smoothie as well as mashed potatoes. It also comes with some recipes to try and its own measured container.
The two things I learned were, first, that I cannot use it like a regular mixer but need to use an up and down motion moving it around the pan as needed. Second, the weight is a problem as I have very little strength in my arm, hence the stand mixer. As long as I can rest it on the bottom of the container I'm blending in, I didn't find it all that problematic as long as I didn't try blending for more than a few minutes at a time. That said the ease of whipping the potatoes was much less stress on my arm than whipping them by hand and only took those few minutes.

The Avance Collection ProMix Hand Blender feels solid in the hand and has very good balance for it's noticeable weight. Assembly was simple and easily comes back apart to facilitate proper and hassle free cleaning. Overall, the build quality of this unit has the feel of quality engineering throughout unlike many of the other lower priced, competing products out there.
The most valuable feature of this hand mixer is the stepped trigger that easily and securely allows one to adjust the speed in operation. We found this very helpful in mitigating any 'splash & fling' when preparing our favorite powdered protein drink in a talk pitcher.
Having a look through the accompanying documentation, Philips offers a wide variety of attachments that can enhanced the applicability of this hand mixer. We look forward to adding a few of these accessories.
We can solidly recommend this product to friends & family.
Good job Philips!

A Good Hand Blender, but accessories are needed!

Philips - Avance Collection ProMix Hand Blender - Black is a basic hand blender that can blend liquids, soft ingredients, puree cooked ingredients and chop nuts. It works by simply applying pressure on top of whatever food you are preparing, while also moving the blender from side to side. It has enough power to grind soft ingredients well. The only problem that I have become aware of is the lack of needed accessories to make different types of processed meals. There are four additional accessories needed in order to maximize the full potential of the Philips - Avance Collection ProMix Hand Blender. They are the Whisk, Double mixer, Potato masher, and the XL Chopper with Multichopper accessory. Without these accessories, I am limited in the recipes that I can make. In spite of not having any accessory, the Philips - Avance Collection ProMix Hand Blender is a great kitchen tool to have in my kitchen.

HANDHELD POWERHOUSE! 300W of POWER!

This one is pretty straight forward. It's a great hand blender that packs power. It is solidly built and matches most finishes in your kitchen. Whether you have black appliances or stainless steel, this will fit right in. It is a little tall so you will need to separate it to store it. It comes with a measuring cup that doubles as a mixing bowl. The one test I measure all hand blenders by is the pancake mix test. This thing passed with flying colors. More than enough power to mix thick pancake batter. If you're in the market for a hand blender, this one is for you!

Does it Blend?

Great news, it blends! My wife and I have used this blender to make home made milk shakes, chocolate milk, and puree some pico de gallo into a smooth salsa. We've grown accustomed to making smoothies in our blender, but I'm excited to see how well this does as it takes up much less space in the kitchen.
There's not too much to the unit itself. A detachable mixer which comes apart easily and the motor that uses a trigger to control mix speed. The build quality seems very sturdy and the blade is very sharp.
The only downside is the mixer attachment isn't dishwasher safe. I feel like for the price they could have engineered a dishwasher safe mixer. I also wish they would have included other attachments such as a wisk or beater.

The Philips ProMix hand blender is a great addition to anyone’s kitchen. The variable speed works well to fine tune your blending depending on the item being run through the blades. For those that missed it in the specs section, it is not cordless. The cord is about 5 feet long. I would have preferred it to have a rechargeable battery or even the combination of a corded/cordless option. Also, there are accessories that can be attached but they are not included and have to be purchased separately. I have seen other hand blenders come bundled with extra attachments so that knocks off a star, in my opinion. However, it is a pretty powerful hand blender/mixer that can handle most tasks with ease.

This is great for when you don't want to pull out a full food processor or don't have room for one. The base unit is fairly limited in use, but there are a bunch of inexpensive attachments that make it into a full-fledged processor without taking up as much space.
The motor on this guy is much stronger than most of the more inexpensive hand blenders. You get what you pay for here. It's heavy and well built and will last for years!
If you're looking to make basic recipes like soups and smoothies the base unit is perfect. If you want to use it to make more complex things like salsas, you will need an attachment.

I’ve used other hand mixers like this in restaurants I’ve worked at over the years. I’ve never had one with the variable speed button this one has. Just squeeze harder to make it go faster. It seems very sturdy as well, probably the best made one I’ve ever used. Good quality materials. The only thing I’m not a fan of is how tall it is. I’m used to working with ones that are a bit taller and can be used in a sauce pot. This one comes with a container to mix in that’s just big enough for it.
