Got this unit to pair up with our 3D TV. We didn't know how much we'd like it, so we grabbed this one because it was a good price. Our other Bluray is a Sony, & I do have to say that it seems like a sturdier unit and has a much nicer interface. All & all though, the Phillips plays Bluray 3D just fine & the built in WiFi is a big plus. Streaming Netflix & Vudu is no trouble. If you're looking to dabble with 3D to see if its you're cup of tea, I'd def recomend this unit. If you're really into it though, I'd probably invest in a higher end unit.

So, I loved that it was super easy to set up.
However, that is the only thing to love. The remote is very clumsy and slow to respond. I think it's the rubbery buttons, the actual button underneath the rubber wasn't located where you'd normally press.
I really hated that if you leave a DVD in, the menu would automatically play the DVD instead of letting me select DVD or Netflix. At times, it would freeze up in the Netflix screen and I would have to unplug to reset. Normally I am able to watch Netflix on my laptop and have no issues while using aps on my Kindle that utilize my wireless connection, but the blu ray player was useless if I was using my laptop.

Disappointing. Connection problems and hangups with NetFlix and YouTube. Might just need a software update but none have been offered in the six or so months we've owned it. Wired or wireless, strong connections, still hangs and stutters during streaming video play. We've reverted to using CPUs or XBox or even Wii (which is saying a lot) in lieu of this contraption. Maybe we'd expect such problems from no-name devices, but we didn't expect it from Philips.

This unit is two years old and stopped working. I always had small problems from the begining but continually worsened until it stoped working last week. Unit was very slow to respond or did not respond to commands from the remote. A down load was installed a couple weeks ago and i had hope it would work better, not. It finally gave out last week. We paid good money for this unit and i would never buy another philips product again. It isn't i nly philips electronics, all electronics are very low quality now, they usually last just long enough to get past the warranty period. Mostly junk.
