    Bought as a gift for my wife to help with her winter blues. It comes with directions for different reasons this light would be needed and what time of day is best for using it. She uses it every morning as directed for her condition and positive results showed within a couple of days.

    A recent Italian study-that involved exposing men to bright light-motivated me to purchase this product. I think it is a worthwhile investment and my mood has improved since I started using it. The Phillips device uses LED's and thus doesn't emit UV light, so I don't believe it poses a risk for cataracts. It is attractive and solidly made, and though not small, it's reasonably compact for travel. It uses an AC adapter and does not have a built-in rechargeable battery, which I actually prefer.

    The Philips goLITE BLU Energy Light to me is somewhat odd to use. Lighting ranges from fairly bright to super bright. Wasn't really helpful to me.
