Great motion sensitivity and function
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Obviously you need hue bulbs to operate along with this motion sensor. After purchasing one of these for my children's toy room which they are in and out of very quickly I then had to go out and purchase two more for the stairwell that leads to the basement as well as a basement closet. These work great the control of sensitivity as well as being able to link multiple rooms to these devices make them very dynamic. They are very small in size as well and come with a nice magnetic clip that helps position it. The only place that it's lacking is in the pan until two of that mountain. It can only go a few degrees in all directions. You can rig amount that might work better for your situation. All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase and continue to grow my Phillips hue addiction.

Simple and easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using the Phillips Hue lighting system throughout my house and this little sensor is discrete and easy to use. I've had no issue setting it up or using it. There are now twoin my house and I might buy another soon! The motion sensitivity and light sensitivity can be adjusted for each sensor making it a great fit for every room.

All in on Philips Hue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Philips Hue line of products! Went all in on the Hue ecosystem. These motion sensors are right up there with the best on the market. Very responsive and no issues so far. I use one in a bath room where the shower gets very steamy and no issues going on 1 year with that sensor. Bought 2 more for my closets. Love them!

Awesome Add-On
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hue light sensor is an excellent add-on to the Hue lighting system. So easy to connect, and you can place it anywhere. It’s great for the kitchen for when your hands are full with groceries and you can’t reach for the light switch. Viola, your lights will automatically come on when you set off the sensor!

Automate Your Hue Lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two of these motion detectors to turn on my Hue light bulbs as I enter a space. I have one to light the lamp at the top of the stairway (with Hue bulb). It sees me as I start up the stairs and turns on. No more fumbling for a light switch especially when I am carrying something. I programmed it to shut off after a short time. The other is in my dining room to light the way to the living room or front door. I love these. In addition, I think they would be a good safety feature for a senior citizen or disabled person. The sensor must be used with a Hue bulb/bridge and requires in home wireless service. It links to the Hue app on your smartphone.

Great but only for basic functionality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two motion sensors and the software is too basic to handle it. I hate to start a review bashing something, but I had higher expectations for a $40 product that requires lots more invested in other hardware, including the bridge and lights. It's a great product and I would recommend it for anyone who doesn't mind using poorly written software. Adding the motion sensor into the mix makes for a pain when wanting to manually adjust lights, or having multiple sensors (multiple sensors are essentially incompatible). I expect the sensor with the most recent activity to take precedence but it seems to be that whichever sensor was triggered first takes precedence until the second sensor has no current motion. What I mean is that the second sensor will not detect motion if you go directly from being in view of sensor 1 to in the view of sensor 2. If it does detect motion, then it does not affect the lights. There is probably an advanced tasking software I can use for my Hue products, but I currently don't have time or the understanding to use the app. I have not experimented much with one yet and so I have no idea what the limit of functionality/logic is. I am unsure of what to say about having multiple sensors because it seems to be an experience that is not meant to exist. Yet, I would expect it to for the price you pay. In terms of the sensitivity or something of the sensor, it seems to be only sensitive to obvious motion. Sitting at your computer and typing will most likely not be detected, and it can not be detected from over 5 feet away. The farther the distance, the less the sensitivity. For remaining in a room, you will want the sensor to be at least 7 minutes or motion will not be detected at some point or another. It's annoying. To sum this up: If you adjust your lights a lot, this will not work for that set/room/you. If you rely simply on motion in a room, this should be fine.

Working better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have it to turn on my closet light when detecting motion and it does just that, quick. Absolutely no delay, which means my switch works very fast as well. Also, the notifications work but not 100% of the time at first.. seems to be getting better as updates keep rolling out.

Love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sensor on Black Friday along with the Hue starter kit. It was really easy to set up and I love it. I have the sensor set up in the stairwell which leads to the bedrooms. Anytime it senses motion at the top or bottom of the stairs it triggers the light immediately

Works without issues, adjustable night brightness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been flawlessly rock solid for me. By far the best feature is making lights turn on at different brightness depending on time of day; this makes it very useful as a night light for bathrooms. My batteries lasted for almost 3 years and they're standard AAA size which was a pleasant surprise. Wish it was a bit cheaper but otherwise it has been perfect! More configuration options are available in apps other than the official Hue app as well.

Works Well... almost too well.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this with the starter kit during a sale. House has no wired lights or switches. Bought this to trigger the lights when we come home at night without tripping to the floor lamp or trying to use the clapper. Works great. Turns on as soon as we walk through the door. Has great range. Positioned to work for all entryways into living room. Minor nuisance is that it turns out the lights if you sit still for too long on the couch, e.g., watching a movie. A simple hand wave will turn the lights back on.... I haven't explored the app too deeply, maybe it can be optimized better in software. Still a win though!

Never left in the dark again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a Hue fan. I big hue fan. I have 23 hue bulbs in my house and six hue strips. So it was a no-brainer to for me to get the Motion sensor. I wanted an easy to use option for my entryway and hallway lights to come on when I walked in the front door and for when my non-tech-savvy grandmother walked out of her room. The Motion sensor does not disappoint. They have been on a roll with the Hue products and the only complaint I would have is that the price for everything is so high. If you are running Hue lights and are looking for a way to manage motion in your home this will do the trick.

Best Motion Sensor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Hue Motion Sensor is a great little device that allows you to activate certain Philips Hue lights of your choosing. I use one motion sensor as a night light when going downstairs to let the dogs out. It turns on my stairway lights, kitchen cabinet Hue String Lights and Outdoor Patio light. I use another as a security sensor to let me know when something is in the garage when it shouldn't be. It is dedicated to turning on a bedroom light, an office light and a hallway light. All strategically placed in areas where you won't miss when the sensor is activated.

Phillips motion sensor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased several of these to work with our smart lights. They are amazing! Each is connected to certain lights and set to come on when movement is detected. Then go off after a time I chose. Saves so much “making sure all lights off” and at night no more fumbling for a light if I get up. Set up was easy and seamless. The size is small and unnoticeable. Great choice for our home smart lights!

Good Motion Senior for Philips hue bulbs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These sensors sound like a quick and easy fix for the problems associated with having Hue lights in key areas/rooms of your home like the master bathroom, pathways but not wanting to constantly carry your phone around everywhere to control these lights. So I bought one to fix my issue above (just wanted a configurable control method for lights in key, heavily trafficked room that did not require device-in-hand). Here's what I found and some things to consider before buying... *Customizability Issue--(Only one color or scene setting allowed): If you just set the lights to let's say orange, but your sensor only allows one color/scene selection so you set the sensor to turn light on to "bright" during the day because you don't always want your bathroom lights orange, then whenever the sensor picks up motion it will default to the selected/scene color from the sensor settings and trump the orange setting (even if you just reset the lights from bright to be orange). There's no adjusting this. The sensor will always change the lights to the sensor's default setting/color/scene. *Customizability Issue--(Only one day and one night setting allowed): The above point brings another point and note along with it. You only can set a single day and single night setting without further complications or customization. For example, I can't say between the hours of 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. I want "bright" lights but between 5-9 p.m. I want a dimmed setting and between 9 p.m.-6 a.m. I want the sensor to do nothing/keep lights completely off. This makes using the sensor problematic since now I pretty much can only have two settings and I am still required to grab my phone and go into Phillips Hue app (or third-party app) to change the lights; in effect, defeating the entire purpose of my use case/reasons for purchasing the sensor. *Customizability Issue--(One turn-off (inactive/no motion) setting allowed): So, maybe most of the time I want the light to turn off in 1 minute (quick bathroom stop) and other times I want it off in 20 minutes (i.e. when in the shower). No option here. One setting and one setting alone. So while in the shower, I find myself waving my hand like a crazy man out the shower curtain to activate the motion sensor because it's fickled when you set it to high sensitivity (turning on all the time at just a glance). And at low sensitivity my unit has issues with a steamy bathroom, so detecting motion during showering has seemingly appeared problematic as well. *Functional Issue--: As mentioned above, the device seems to have issues with its motion detection in steam-filled bathrooms. I wave my hand less than 4 feet away from this thing in a super-steamy room and it detected no motion. Remained in dark shower. Not sure if water vapor interferes with the sensor's ability to "see" things but the sensor simply did not work. This has occurred several times (attempted to troubleshoot by seeing if the battery was low, changing settings, etc. all to no desired effect). *Functional Issue--(Daylight sensitivity setting not working?): So, at times it says its inactive as there is sufficient daylight but activates anyway when motion is detected. Basically, this means setting the "daylight sensitivity" is rather pointless as the sensor activates with motion and turns lights on even when it is broad daylight (light coming through windows) and extra light is unneeded. I've tweaked this setting like 20 times with no change in the unwanted results.

Very Neat Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great. Sensors are pretty dead on. It's small, so it's not in the way, and pretty easy to install/place in the majority of the areas you'd need it.

Added features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as expected. Also tells you room temperature and will only turn on light when ambient light is low. Set times for usage, but recommend a third party hue app if you wish to use a particular linked hue bulb for more than one function.

INTRUDER DETECTED! INTRUDER DETECTED!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a small thing, but it feels SO awesome to walk into my office and have the lights automatically turn on! Excellent motion sensors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great! And now they are compatible with Apple’s HomeKit setup which makes them super useful outside of the Phillips Hue ecosystem. Bought 3 when they went down to $20. Will buy a few more if when they go on sale again

Works great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product. I use it in a room that doesn’t get used much. It’s nice to not need to find a light switch. This item will turn on the lights with motion and turn off the lights if it doesn’t detect motion.
