Great sensor for any room or closet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use the sensor in our pantry and closet, but throughout it would be great if we had one for the laundry room. It's simple to connect to the Philips Hue Hub using the phone app for iOS and the included hardware makes it just as easy to install just about anywhere you want. I installed ours using one of the support stems from the wire rack above our washer/dryer drop in sink area. The sensor has a really strong magnet so it holds well to the wire rack and is barely noticeable as the color blends in nicely. The motion sensor is directly in front of the door so when you open the door the lights turn on which is awesome. I currently have it set for 2 minutes before it dims out to off. It's a great addition to our smart home. I understand it can get pricey especially using Philps or Lifx products, but you get to customize the lighting system in a way that fits your lifestyle. The best part is if you can stick a sticker, remove and install a lightbulb and plug in power adapters you 80% there. The rest is downloading the Philips app to setup your bulbs, hubs, dimmer switches, and motion sensors. It's cheaper and better than hiring an electrician or even wiring up a dimmer switch. I say that because if you decide to move, you can easily take your smart home with you. I'd recommend this product to anyone.

Tried and true
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had these before, so when I wanted a simple motion sensor to create automated kitchen lighting, I went for this one. It also measures light sensitivity and temperature, for other automation ideas. Pairs with Home Assistant. Batteries are just normal 2 AAA batteries and easily replaced yourself by unscrewing and popping the back off.

Works as expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This sensor works pretty much as you'd expect. It has a magnetic back so if you have metal corners (under the wall mud), you don't have to permanently attach it while trying to find the best position. It can be positioned so you can aim it toward the expected motion. It is easy to configure this in the Hue app.

Must Have for Hue Lighting
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have any Hue lighting in your house, I think these are almost a must to have. Not only do I have kids that forget to turn the lights off when they leave a room and this sensor can be set to automatically turn off the light after a certain time, but it is also a nice feature to just walk into a dark(er) room and have the lights turn on automatically. I have these sensors in every room I have the Hue lighting.

It Works As Advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Phillips Hue motion sensor was easy to install and configure. The magnetic mount allowed me to stick it on my refrigerator and fine tune its sensing behavior by moving it around several times to find the perfect spot to operate my new under-cabinet LED Light Strips.

Excellent Battery Life! Highly Recommended!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Motion Sensor. I use two of these paired together in my Kitchen and they work great at turning the lights on as soon as you walk in the room. The battery life is also really good in this sensor as I only have to replace it every couple years. I highly recommend this motion sensor!

Works Great-Integration with App Confusing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this some time ago and am just now reviewing it. The sensor works extremely well, and reports movement immediately. It is small, and should fit into most any room without being obvious. The only problem I have with it is not with the sensor itself but how it integrates within the Hue App. I find the App to be somewhat confusing on where to get to things already, but in setting this sensor up to work with my lights got even more confusing. I have lights set up to come on and turn off at set times within the App. When I first set the sensor up I was wanting to have it work only at dark and turn lights on and off if they weren't on already. With the setup of the sensor you can tell it to turn on specific lights with movement, then have them turn off after a specific amount of time or just leave them on. I wanted them to turn off. Problem arose though when the set time of day turned them on, then something set the sensor off with motion. I had the setup to where it would turn lights off after 15 minutes, and so it did, but it wasn't already after the set time of day to have them turned off, so I had to go back and turn the lights back on. After a number of different setups, I figured out that the sensor needed to be set up with parameters outside of the timed setup I already had the lights on. It all works well now, but the information within the instructions should have pointed this out in some fashion to help the user understand the setup process better. I am pleased with the Hue system entirely and would recommend this product to others, but warn them that it may take a few attempts to get it integrated with their current setup correctly, unless the Hue documentation gets updated.

Works smoothly with HomeKit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I have a variety of Hue bulbs, remotes, switches and motion sensors, I control almost all of them via HomeKit. The motion sensor is reliable and accurate, and the battery seems to last forever. (I thought I would be replacing them much more frequently, but I'm coming up on a year now since installing my first motion sensor and it is still on the original batteries.

Great Hardware, Poor Software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware itself is great, the software is very limited. They need to unlock the scheduling and allow multiple time frames and not just a day/night schedule. Granted there are other apps but for the general user they will use the Hue App itself. It doesn't play too nice with manually turning on the lights or changing the modes, it will override manual settings if it doesn't detect movement or if you are super still and then move it will alter your manual settings. Overall still happy with it and will be sticking it in a bathroom so the kids don't leave the lights on all the time.

Work Great
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As with all Hue products, very easy to setup, pickup range is exactly what I expect, and there is very little delay to the lights coming on. Due to a funky placement of the light switch it works much better than my guest actually trying to find the switch behind the door. A little expensive, as are all Hue products, but good value.

Great HomeKit Sensor
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can do a lot with these sensors since they show up in HomeKit. They are easy to set up and I’ve had no issues. I’ve had one of them for over a year and the battery is still going strong. They also tell you the temperature of your room so that’s cool. You have to have a Hue hub to set them up so keep that in mind.

Lights on/Lights off!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Motion Sensor is simple to install to control room lighting and syncs up with SmartPhone or Tablet in just a few short steps. Sensor ideal for rooms where you need to turn on light but have both hands full of items (laundry, groceries etc.) and can’t flip the light switch. Sensor automatically turns light on when you enter room, and turns lighting off when you exit the room.

Hue Motion Sensor

Perfect for walk in closets
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We hung a chandelier that uses candelabra bulbs and we put 3 of the Phillips hue white ambience and added the motion detector and boy does my wife love it. So nice to just walk in and have the light turn on. Very easy setup and the sensor itself is pretty small so its hardly noticable. I will keep adding Phillip's hue products where they are needed and fulfill a need for convenience.

Better than expected!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these motion sensors. Initially I bought one for the garage so the lights would come on before my wife would go out in it. She definitely appreciates that. Anyways I ended up purchasing two more that were needed in my house. Easy set up with some simple customization. Lights actually come on faster than asking ‘Alexa’ to turn them on. Great product.

It works as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a motion sensor to add to my home lighting system and thought the this one was a good price. I would have opted for something cheaper, but I had fears about compatibility ( all my bulbs are Hue bulbs). I’m happy to say that this product works exactly like it should. With Hue app connecting it was easy and fast. It has a respectable range and can operate in low light conditions. It a great sensor is you own hue bulbs and a hue bridge; if you don’t then I can’t say much. Considering buying another one.
