Nice addition to Hue system
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you already have a Hue system, then this can be a nice addition...or a good start to building a Hue system if you don't already have one (since it comes with a Hue hub). At full price, I'm not sure I'd get it, but I picked it up on sale. As-is, it is a nice addition to a manually or scheduled Hue lighting system, but as far as I know, it won't sync the colors to the game you are playing without an expensive add-on device, which some people thought it would.

Nice aesthetic, meh value
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adds a nice ambience to the desk. The colors are vivid and the diffuser spreads the light elegantly; looks good on a desktop and behind monitor(s) especially for that gamer aesthetic. They do take up some space and the case is black, so doesn't fit everywhere. They're also very light and easy to knock over. Overall I like them, just not sure if they're worth what I paid ($100)

Cool ambient lighting
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether behind the tv or computer monitor the light these things produce give the setting a much more intimate vibe. The color mixing is a nice feature with the control through the mobile app. It is pricy for what it is but i still recommend it. I got it on sale during the holidays and are a great addition to the whole tech setup if you’re into that.

Best wanted purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can only see these in being in someone’s computer office/gaming setup. I have mine on the back of my TV that truly gives the bedroom a unique ambiance. It’s fun to control the lights and set up your own scenes in the hue app. Also like how you can control the individual light separately when changing the colors.

Simply the best
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the best! Super easy to use and control. The colors and brightness is amazing. The starter kit comes with the bridge which is needed and it’s easy to connect. I have these behind my monitor which really helps gaming, movies, or just casually in my room experience.

A must for any PC
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These change the game as far as lighting goes. I bout these and a 3rd extension bulb for a dual screen pc setup. It’s amazing with the hue sync software I’m able to sync up not only these 3 lights but the other 3 in my bedroom as well. The lights all pulse to sound and change to whatever color is on my screens.

Would recommend!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for gaming setup! Lots of color variations to choose from-easy setup and configuration on app. Only negative is the adhesive on the lights which has fallen off the tv-had to use 3M tape to ensure that this would not happen again. Overall, great product for the price-would recommend!

Easy set up like all Hue
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like all Hue lights they are easy to set up. Using with my Xbox. To make them sync, need to stream to my laptop and then run hue sync from there. Wish they would make a native Xbox app, the over $200 HDMI sync price seems way over priced.

Would recommend only if on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bright lighting comes in small packages. Don’t let the size scare you, yes they might be small but they can light up a whole room, also love the fact that I can mirror them with my monitor (you need a pc to do this for free) and you can also turn them on or off even when you’re away from home!

Great deal when on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well when used in conjunction with the hue sync or as bias lighting for your tv. Had to return first pack due to one light not working. Colors and vibrancy are better than the hue bloom lights, and you can connect up to three in one outlet due to new outlet adapters used on this model. Was able to get this on sale at $99.99 with $50 gift card.

Philips Hue Play Light Bar
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Plenty of ways you can use these lights do get creative. Comes with two. I bought two sets so 4 lights total. You can connect up to 4 of these lights with one plug. I used 3 of them this way on my mantle and one on top of back TV to get a nice look. I used the single light remaining and the other power cord and used that light for under a breakfast bar to give my cats a little nightlight to see their feeding bowls during the night. They give off great deep colors. I’ve seen different uses on YouTube so check them out and see how you could use them. Some use them on their desks or to cast color on part of a wall. Endless opportunities. Hue makes the best smart bulbs and has a very easy user friendly app that allows for a types of customization of your lights. The app is always improving and adding new functions as well. Highly recommend to add some of these to your Hue ecosystem.

Great addition to any room
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These lights are great for adding more colors to your home. They are great for making the room brighter subtly. Pairs well with other Hue products. It comes at a premium price though.

Cool to use now and again
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a couple starter kits as i love hue products. While this is awesome to use now and again, I don't use it all the time. I use it with my shield using hue sync app, but you need to purchase a rather expensive additional hue device to allow you to use it with external devices.

Expensive
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had gift cards and BB reward money to spend. I really enjoy an immersive movie experience and these items lend to that. They are a lot of fun but stupid expensive. Did not realize that this kit did not include the HDMI sync device. Don’t know why you would purchase this kit for anything other than the ambient light behind the TV. That light does not interact with what is on your TV without the other device which is also very expensive. I bought mine on sale is the only reason I even considered it. I do not regret my purchase but would have never done it if not for having the extra “money” and it being on sale. People are impressed when they see it being presented with a colorful movie in a dark room with full surround sound. They are paired with other color light bulbs in the room.

Love the colors!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The colors you can choose is fantastic. Love the brightness of these over the bloom or go. On the expensive side though. Also, wish they would mirror the TV sound without having to buy the sync that costs another $229.99

Great for home theater
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup 4 of them behind the TV. Adds an excellent ambient light when watching movies. Waiting for the HDMI Hue sync box to go on sale (over priced) to connect these to it. Will add to the home theater experience.

Another great addition to the Hue lineup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy attached these to the back of our TV and it works great. I purchased another set and used them for accent lighting in a loft space. I also really like that you can control the color of each light individually.

Work as they should--look nice
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been pleased with all of my Philips Hue purchases and this is no exception. They paired easily and work great. They make a nice effect around the TV, but until I can afford the HDMI Sync box, they are more decoration than functional. They are pretty simple, and probably a little overpriced without a promotion (they had a $50 gift card included when I got mine, which definitely made them worth it), but I am willing to pay a little more for Hue products. I have owned tons of different brands of smart lighting and smart home products and systems. Hue has by far been the easiest and most reliable I've used. I never have to waste time fiddling with them, which is definitely not true of the competing products.
