It does it’s job and let’s me set 4 different scenes. I mainly bought it for my wife because she just doesn’t get talking to google lol. I’ve tried to teach her so many times but she is just way to confused because our entire home is a smart home. She can’t keep up so this def made it much easier for our master bedroom.

This is quite a cool concept...amazingly there are no wires, and this switch just seems to work with the push of a button! you can select from a variety of HUE scenes or merely use the switch to turn a group of lights on or off!! Too new to tell how well or how long this will work..but so far, I'm loving this! If something changes for the negative, I will update my review.

I've seen bad reviews on this product, but I don't know why!! This people are just haters. Anyway Hue Tap is really easy to set up, and the build quality really surprised me! It's heavier than I thought it would be. I put it right next to my front door and now when I get home or leave I can turn on all the lights or off or anything in between! I love it!

I live in an apartment and I purchased this as a switch for the Hue lights I have in my apartment. They are very handy if you can not hook up your lights to regular light switches. You can stick them anywhere any do not require any batteries. You can program them for up to four different scenes.

This is a must have for the Hue user. I love using my phone but it's nice to stick this on the wall and then use it like a remote by twisting it off the base (when stuck on the wall). It's super easy to set-up and great if you forgot your phone downstairs but your lights are in your bedroom or bathroom. I will probably add another one of these downstairs. Awesome accessory for the Hue user.

Good alone. Better with Hue Labs

Pros: Controls scenes in up to 4 rooms at a time, multiple lights per room. Requires no power or batteries. Touch powered. Detaches from wall. Take it with you as a remote control, to change the lighting to read in bed, etc. Place on nightstand while sleeping. Accessible when you wake and put back in its wall "holster" when leaving the room so the cycle can repeat. Cons: Out of the box it only provides four buttons with only one action per button. Gives power over a bunch of lights, but you can't do a bunch with them. No toggle or dimmable functionality. Enter labs.meethue.com. The Tap Toggle applet is an immeasurable helper. All applets are Philips own, but for those interested in testing additional functionality. Discovered this via Philips Hue email due to account setup and now wouldn't use the Tap without it. Will buy more as we afford to Hue-ify our home.

sometimes you have to tap it a couple times. I wish it had more than three buttons, but it's nice to not need the app all the time.

Bought this to compliment our Hue Lights and Bridge. Unfortunately had to return since it wasn't the best solution for our home automation system. If just using Hue Lights and Bridge this is a great item that allows you quick access without having your phone in hand.

This little control works as described, I'm still playing with the settings but so far works good. Still can figure out how to control different lights instead of just one room but as soon as I do I will update, still since it requires NO BATTERIES u will have plenty of time to play with it.

After spending hours trying to get the first one to work (myself and with Hue tech staff) I gave up and exchanged it for a new one. None of the buttons would activate. Second one synced up fine but still, one of the buttons does not work consistently. I have this mounted on a wall to serve as the main room lighting switch, and for that purpose it is ok I suppose. But the overall look and feel of this is really poor. Hoping Philips comes up with a more robust remote control unit that is battery powered. Until then there are no other options for remote control of a room outside of an app.

    Good But Could be Better

It is a good device that has the advantage that it does not require any batteries to operate. The only issue with this device is that pushing the 2-4 buttons is slightly more difficult then expected. It requires that you push the whole face of the device in no mater what button you push.

No matter how tempted a buyer might be to control lighting outside of a smartphone application, I would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND buying a Tap Switch.

It is really valuable to have the fallback to a switch if you have hue bulbs and not have to rely on your smart device.

When I bought this switch from Philips, I wasn’t sure how useful it’d be. But after several weeks, I found it extremely useful especially in the bedroom because I didn’t have to keep my phone on just to turn off the light when going to sleep. The switch work really well and the settings was easy to modify as well! Highly recommended!

The Tap Switch is my go-to switch by Phillips Hue. Can be utilized with several smart light apps to produce several scenes, switches, and animations. Buttons don't work correctly sometimes but overall still a good product.

Very slick gadget to go with our Hue setup. We generally keep it in its cradle mounted to the wall next to the light switch. Works great for turning the lights on to a a specific scene (we have 3 different color combinations and an “off”). Very easy to set up and to modify for like Christmas or St Patrick’s day. Very cool.
