This works great, and the fact that it doesn't use batteries or electricity makes it even better. I programmed three different settings so anyone can turn on the lights without using the app. Great product. Easy installation.

Love this switch. It was very easy to set up in the app which allows up to 4 functions. Not having to worry about batteries is another nice benefit.

While the design isn't the most appealing artistically, the functionality is great. Can control my hallway kitchen and living room all from one switch and don't need any batteries or wiring for it to work.

Nice alternative to using your phone

The Tap Switch was a necessity for me as in a high traffic area you don't want to have to go into the app on your phone every time you want to turn on/off the light. This allows you to set up to four "scenes" (the 3 small buttons and the overall buttons). I chose to make one of the buttons "all off". I could use a few more of these. :)

Great switch for Phillips Hue products

This is my second switch like this for Phillips Hue lights. It's a great little switch to turn on/off/adjust lighting for my Hue bulbs. The nice thing is it has no batteries to change, and just pushing the button "charges" it internally. It does take some force to press the buttons, but it also means the lights aren't easily turned on or off by accident. It comes with a cradle to mount on the wall and you take the round button device out of the holster and have with you wherever you need to be able to control the lights from. You can also program this through Hue for other lighting patterns, or leave it at default as I do.

Useful, but does not work perfectly

Useful addition if you have Hue bulbs so that you don't have to fidget around in an App to turn on the lights or start a specific scene. Does not always work the first time you push a button, mostly functions 2-4, button one seems to work reasonably well, sometimes have to push a button a few times for the action to start, seems to be related to the switch generating it's own energy for transmitting the setting to the controller. You might try their new dimmer as a better alternative.

The battery-less solution is very clever and works good. The biggest issue is that non-compatibility with other Z-Wave/ZigBee hubs than the Philips Hue bridge. If you try to make your home smarter and don't want to limit your use case to Philips Hue it'll urge you to run a seperate smart hub which I personally don't like. In fact, I only purchased this switch and the Hue bridge to allow changing the color of the Hue LED lightstrip without a smartphone. The rest works perfectly fine with SmartThings.

Serves it's purpose. This is my second Hue Tap purchase. Most every light in my house is Hue. I wanted a Tap for the nightstand so I could turn off all the house lights and turn on a couple scenes in the bedroom without using the phone app. Convenient.

Having the Hue Tap makes it really convenient to turn activate scenes (lights on/off) without having to pull up an app on your smart phone. Bonus - doesn't use batteries at all - how awesome is that?!

It's interesting that it uses kinetic energy to power itself, rather than batteries. Getting it programmed took a little getting used to which is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Once I figured out the intricacies of programming, it worked great!

This product works excellently with the philips hue lighting system. Love that it doesnt require batteries or any other power source and runs from the actual pressing of the button.

Purchased to make it easier than always controlling scenes through the app. It works great. The only area for improvement is the design with the button press. This does NOT need batteries which is great, but the way the press works sometimes can cause the wrong scene to be selected (the whole front clicks in rather than a button for two of the scenes). That being said, it only takes a few tries to get used to it.

I thought that if I turned off the actual light switch for the light socket I had to re-pair the lights to the bridge. That wasn't the case. They pretty much reconnect immediately so there is no issue actually turning off the lights the conventional way once in a while. That made this purchase redundant to me so I returned it. If you wish to have yet another option in turning on and off your lights (other than wearables, tablets, computers, cellphones, Echo, actual light switch) then this might be useful to you. With that said, it is neat that you can actually remove the device from the base that goes taped to the wall, making it a portable, yet redundant, way to control your Hues.
