Fairly easy to set up since no detailed instruction manual. Works anywhere iPhone is not available ie in another room. Can be attached via screws (not included) or peel off tape on unit.

When I purchased my hue starter kit to replace the lights in my bedroom, using my phone got a bit mundane. I know we are in the era of using our phones to run every aspect of our lives, but sometimes I just need to flip a switch for my lights. The hue tap gives me that option. Not only can you just walk in and push it for light, but there are 4 buttons for different light scenes. It is absolutely perfect and uses no batteries. Using the kinetic energy from the push button switch itself, to send the information to the hue hub, so that it can turn your lights to whatever color scheme you set it to... Pure genius!!!

I've always wanted to try this switch to see if it would work for my family. I finally have the time with everything going on in the world, so I ordered and set it up. The feel of the buttons is definitely different - it needs that deep push to enact the kinetic mechanism. Once you get used to it, it's no big deal. It works great for multi-use spaces, especially where guest in your home will need more traditional controls as they won't necessarily be accustom to voice controls in your smart home.

The Tap has 4 buttons that all function as scene change triggers. The Hue hub doe not keep track of the Tap's button state, so having each of the buttons serve as on and off is not possible. I knew this going in, but didn't think it would end up annoying me quite as much as it does. I still use the Tap daily, it's a quick switch for my lights that I can take around the house that is certainly better than opening the Hue app.

The Hue Tap Remote works well, does not require batteries, and is easy to set up. To get to five stars they need to add more buttons so you can access more scenes. Three is a good start, but five would be more useful.

Even with an Echo Dot, this is a must have. Easy to setup, well built, and no batteries required. A very convient way to quickly access 3 different scenes.

I have hue lights all over my house, and they are all also hooked up to my google home. It's great for everything, except my daughter's bedroom. She's only 4, so doesn't have her own phone, but loves having hue lights that change color in her bedroom. So With this switch, I set up 4 different lighting profiles, and she can mash the buttons to her heart's content without having to yell at the google in the dining room from her room. just to turn off the lights. Great that it doesn't need batteries.

Took some getting used to but it works flawlessly and as described. I configured this switch in a way that I mounted it over the existing switches using a new solid plate.I looks great and works every time. Its mechanical and not powered by electricity so there was a small learning curve as it works off of the kinetic energy generated by pushing the buttons themselves. It's a brilliant concept. Well made and I expect it to last a long time.

I am giving this 3 * just because of its rather poor design. Yes, it does exactly what it's advertised but the switch is too bulky and feels cheaply built.

Having what is essentially a light switch seems like it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but having four presets that anyone can use just by walking into the room and pressing a button is really nice.

These switches look decent & they don't require any batteries which is a nice plus. But the main perk is that you can call up custom "scenes" from your hue bridge with the push of a button. Otherwise, you have to do everything from your phone, tablet, etc. which is really tedious for something you want to be able to access as quickly as a light switch. I've mounted a few on walls where a regular light switch would go but it's also nice that they feature a removable mount plate so you can remove them & use it like a remote & then put them back on the wall when you're done.
My only gripes are that the buttons are a little hard to push & that as of now, one of the 4 buttons will need to be allocated to turn your lights off. So for example, if you turn on the lights using button 2, you can't just hit the 2 button again to turn them off. It's a one way street. If you want to turn them off, you have to program one of the other buttons to turn your lights off. In my case, I program the large button on all my taps to be a "master off" button that turns all my Hue lights off. Philips Hue has a "toggle" feature available via their beta "Labs" website right now so presumably this is something that will be addressed in future updates.
