I've shared my love for all things Philips Hue multiple times. I think they build an excellent product and offer a great user experience. The products do cost a bit more, but it seems well worth it. Having been a Hue user for a number of years and also having a lot of landscape lights, I've often wondered when Philips would enter the outdoor space and when I saw an announcement earlier this spring, I was excited to try them out. If you're adding the Lily to an existing Hue system, it's extremely simple - connect the weatherpack connectors - which BTW are some of the nicest ones I've ever seen - plug in the power supply, open the app and select Light Setup/Add Light. The app will discover the new lights and that's it. I created a room called "Outdoors" because I lack the creative ability to come up with anything better. They function exactly like all other Hue products - pick your color and brightness levels. You can create scenes based on their recommendations or your own. We have ~12 "regular" low-voltage landscape lights in our yard. Because of the cost, I don't think I could replace all of them with the Lily, but they'll definitely enhance what we already have. I will say, the cabling is far more impressive than what is used in other lights. Having spent countless hours fixing connections on my old lights, maybe it would be worth it.

The package comes with everything you need to set up your 3 Smart Spot light in your backyard or hang them on the wall pointing any specific place to create different scenarios, with the combination of 16 million colors you can set up and control them using your smart phone and the Philips app. The kit includes 3 extension cords (Measured 200 in), 3 power distribution connectors or bridge inter connectors, so you can power one light after the other in serial mode, 3 Spikes, 3 Smart Spot Lights (8watts each) that includes an interchangeable base, to turn into either pedestal or Ground post light, the cable length is 18 in, A 24Volt 1.6 amp Power Adapter (40 watts), which, according to my estimates, will support a maximum of 5 lights 8 watts each, the length of the power 24 volt cable is 75 inches. The cords are good silicon based construction for outdoor use with water resistant connectors, metal based design, diffused lens and mate color, which I like a lot. Range of 60f from the Hue Bridge to the Light But the cool part is that each light can act as a repeater for the next light, so you can increase the range accordingly. It makes a strong and white light when you power on, now, if you want to have the option to manage, schedule, control the intensity and change colors, you need to have the Phillips Hue Bridge, which is sold separately, as well as install the HUE app that can be found on Google play or Itunes. It seems to be a little pricey at the first sight, but when you see all that this lights are capable to do you will see that is worth it.
