This was a great first electronic shaver for my son who just started to shave.

Well, this shaver barely shaves off the hairs! Very poor performance, to the point where I had to pull out a manual shaver, and just shave with it instead, rendering this shaver useless to the point where I'm now going to return it to Best Buy, and get a different model to try. Very different from the old Norelcos from 5 years ago, that gave an excellent shave, with nearly every model above 3000! But I did reluctantly stop using Norelcos, due to the super annoying design of the plastic interiors of the heads, that you have to take apart daily, to clean, as they get tangled and clogged right away, where you have to take them apart to clean them, but then these awful, small plastic and metal parts easily fall all over the floor or counter, go flying, and are difficult to put back in properly, or worse, are easy to lose, and can't be replaced. dI went through 2-3 Norelcos like that, and decided to stop. I did, back then, for 10-15 years loved the non irritating, smooth clean, thorough shave, with nearly any length of beard. Now, if that's gone too, what's the point at all? I took a few years break from the Norelcos, and used manuals, which I don't like because I always cut myself, which the Norelcos never do. I also tried a Braun 3000 series electric, which only shaved nicely, but only at a certain midlength, but not too short or long, what a joke. But this Norelco 5100 is a very poor shave, barely grazing any hairs. I'm going to try the Norelco 6900 and hope, that 1, the engineering is the old good kind, that they had before, that gives a great shave with any hair length, and that the cleaning system is just cleaning the shaver under the sink, under the faucet. I like the simplicity of that cleaning, but frankly, it's bad for the plumbing. But if it doesn't result in lost shaver head parts, then I can live with that for awhile, I suppose. All I need right now is a decent shaver, for any hair length, that works, doesn't irritate, and doesn't cost more than $100ish. Hope I find one.

I've always found that norelco shavers have always done the best in the past. Purchased this razor for$45 while on sale and with my rewards. While it does a decent job, I wouldn't keep it had I paid full price. Doesn't get the neck hairs that will.
