This is a good DVD player for the price. It supports HDMI. It has digital audio output. It supports 5.1 channels and Dolby. It can resume from the point where it was last stopped -- a must feature for me. The biggest complaint from me is its slow response to remote control. Some commands can take it 3 seconds to respond. It is so light that a strong push on the button may push it out of original position. One more thing. It is not a very quiet DVD player. It makes small but noticeable noises when trying to locate the track. In conclusion, it works well for my second TV and stereo setup. I would not recommend for your hifi system though.

Looks and performs like new. I would never know it was refurbished except for the price. Not a lot of bells and whistles just a reliable DVD player. It handles discs with scratches and discs that I have burned. Easy to set up. Just plug it in and it's ready to go.

If you were to get this unit to just watch DVD Movies it would be OK but I record my TV programs to DVD and so I want to skip or fast forward through commercials and the remote (and I also tried a universal remote which also worked terrible - so it's the connection between remote and unit) is awful. You either get nothing when pressing fast forward or it skips several chapters so you end up spening time going back & forth a lot. I returned the unit and Best Buy was great about that!

I bought this dvd player refurbished, and it looks and plays like brand new! I am using it as a regular dvd player not with the HDMI hook up and the quality is amazing! I have nothing bad to say about this dvd player!

I bought this DVD player specifically for use with our TV here in Afghanistan. It works perfect with the HDMI cable and so far we've had no issues. Good DVD player, does just what we want, plays DVDs.

I bought this Philips DVD player will play almost all codex's and file formats out there.

This product completely failed after just one use. Played about 30 seconds of the movie and then it just froze. To make matters worse, it would not release the DVD. We had to take the machine apart to retrieve the DVD(of course the DVD was from that great internet DVD rental company so I could not just leave it in there). No way I could return it so I took a loss. Don't let this happen to you.

Philips DVD players, are the best value for there excellence.

The item was used and not working. The dvd tray did not open.
