I never knew I needed a toothbrush with an app, but this one has it. The app guides you how fast to move the brush, shows which part of your mouth to use it on, and monitors how much pressure to apply. All very useful as I discovered I was originally moving the brush head around too quickly. The app also lets you set brushing goals, and gives you brushing factoids. I didn't find the goals or factoids useful. You can use the toothbrush without the app as well. A manual toothbrush is no match for this. The Sonicare leaves my mouth feeling cleaner, especially in the back side of my mouth where there’s little room to actively move a manual brush. It’s harder to compare, however, whether this is significantly better or not than rotating head electric brushes. One of the touted benefits is that sonic technology forces liquid in between teeth, thereby reducing plaque better. Search hard enough on the web and you’ll find conflicting conclusions on this claim. All of them, however, do a good job on gingivitis. I also have a Sonicare that’s not a DiamondClean series like this one. It seems to take a little more effort to get my teeth as clean as the DiamondClean, even when using the same head. Other features may help you decide if this is the right brush for you: - Sonic technology is quieter than a rotating brush head. I had dropped my previous Sonicare brush and something internal came loose. Though the brush still worked, it rattled and annoyed me to no end. I was very glad to get this replacement. - The brush head is in a long form and designed to brush by following the gum lines. I like that better than needing to pay attention to each tooth individually. - I like using the app because it makes sure I’ve properly cleaned each section of my mouth. It also warns me if I’m applying too much pressure. - The box comes with a travel case and a glass cup. The cup can hold your toothbrush on your countertop, and allows the charger to charge your brush.

This toothbrush is simple to setup, with or without the app. There are two options for the charging stand whether to have the brush sit in a cup or straight up on a stand. The battery supposedly lasts for 28 brushing cycles. I have not hit that point yet, but I can definitely say I charged it the night I opened it and then left on vacation. The brush is working great, still on the first charge. With the app open, my phone and brush instantly paired. The app has a map of the mouth with a timer to show how much time needs to be spent in each area. I really like that they have the mouth divided into six areas instead of four like my prior brushes. 20 seconds in each area is easier for me to handle. As a really impatient person, I get bored in 30 seconds. The shorter periods obviously go by faster. While the app is not required to be open, the brush records brushing sessions and seamlessly syncs with the app whenever I want to see how I am doing. I purposely waited three days to sync the data. It took a few seconds to update and show me my brushing data. The brush has a 14 day build up feature for first time users so they can get used to the power. I chose to skip that and try the full experience so I had enough time to write my review. To say the least, this brush is powerful! But, my teeth have never been cleaner other than the moment I walk out of the dentist’s office. They look and feel great! I have a permanent retainer that loves to catch bits and pieces of food. This brush is easily cleaning it where my manual brushes struggle. Overall, I finish brushing and my mouth feels amazing! At the moment, my only complaint is that the included travel case does not close completely. They probably made it that way to let a wet brush dry out, but it also means any dust or dirt from my carryon bag can easily get into the case. I would prefer a tight seal to keep the brush clean. Otherwise, I am really happy. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

To start, there is nothing I dislike about this toothbrush, as a standalone product it's pretty good. however, there are a few things that competitors have that I like better. Let's start with the accessories - this one really stands out. The ability to charge it in the provided glass is a great idea and keeps your area looking clean and neat. Others, particularly ones that are black, can get pretty dirty with residual toothpaste build-up on the charging stand Aesthetics and feel - Again this is a really nice looking toothbrush and it fits the hand really well and has a pretty good balance- for me personally, I like a round head brush as compared to the oval shape of this one but that really is more of a personal opinion based on how tight my mouth is at the back molars. As far as cleaning/function - it seems to do a good job, at least as far as I can tell. I'm not a dentist and they never seem to be happy with the amount of cleaning you do 😊 but that being said it does seem to clean the same as others on the market. I would have liked to see a few more cleaning options but the ones that are there will suffice for most people. Also, it comes with two different brush heads, and I could not tell any real difference between the two. The vibe and auto shut-off let you know where you are in the bush cycle Connecting and app - I did not have any issues with connections either in setup or subsequent connection - it worked flawlessly. As for the app, there are some nice features, like it tracks the number of uses on the brush head - even if you don't connect to the app when you brush. It also has some nice guides to help you clean however the main one takes 4 mins and the brush auto shuts off after two. Overall this is probably the weakest part of my experience. Charging - I used this brush for a week without charge and had no problems also it easily charges overnight. I'm sure that will change over time but no indication that there would be any issues if you simply drop it in the charge glass when you are done - it should be ready for the next brushing cycle. Overall - it's there nothing major to complain about. There are a few areas that could use improvement but nothing that is a showstopper for me. If it had a differently shaped head, I might be pressed to find something I didn't like and that is just a personal preference.

Review for Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9300 Black I’ve been using Philips electric toothbrushes for over 15 years now, and my visits to the dentist have shown me how well they work. My hygienist *always* comments on how good my teeth look and how good my “self care” is. I haven’t had a cavity in all that time. Alas, nothing lasts forever, so when I had to replace my older Philips toothbrush, I chose the DiamondClean Smart 9300. It has all the features I’ve known and loved for years, plus some new ones. It comes with two different brush heads - a plaque fighting and whitening head and a premium brush that also aids in gum care. The toothbrush handle recognizes the type of brush you put on it and adjusts its motion accordingly. New for me is the brushing feedback app. I thought after (many) decades of brushing my teeth, there was not a lot that an app could teach me about getting my teeth clean, but I was wrong! The app pointed out areas that I was neglecting because I use only my right hand to hold the toothbrush. When I switched hands as I switched sides in my mouth, I actually improved my technique. I’ve been told by my dentist to use a soft brush and not to press too hard when I brush. The DiamondClean 9300 helps with both. The brushes are all considered “soft” and the handle detects if you are using too much pressure by giving a little “buzz” feedback that you can feel and a light on the bottom of the handle that you can see. It’s easy to know when your you’re using too much force. Although the 9300 has a two year warranty, I’ve found they last considerably longer. Some years ago, I had one that failed within the warranty period, and I was very happy with the Customer Service at Philips. They were polite, professional, and immediately sent me a replacement via FedEx.

    High-quality electric toothbrush

The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9300 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush is a high-quality electric toothbrush that is packed with features that have really improved my oral health. In the past, I used to rush through brushing in an attempt to just get it over with which is obviously not the best way to maintain healthy teeth and gums. I’ve never had a cavity before so I figured I was doing good enough, but this Philips Sonicare Smart 9300 toothbrush has really shown me that I can be doing a much better job and I have really noticed the results by taking my time and following along with the app for a much more effective cleaning experience. The microchip in the brush heads allow the toothbrush to send data directly to my phone for personalized feedback and coaching during each brushing session. I had a lot to work on the first few times I used this new toothbrush but over time, I have gotten more used to the proper way to brush and I feel like it has helped improve my oral health tremendously. I don’t know if it’s all just in my head but my teeth just seem to look and feel so much better than they did after brushing in the past with my old electric toothbrush. Either way, I know my teeth are well taken care of now. One of the other cool things I really like about this Philips Sonicare Smart 9300 toothbrush is the charging glass. It is very stylish and comes in handy for rinsing while also effortlessly charging the toothbrush. The travel case that comes in the package is also a very nice feature since it makes it easy to transport the toothbrush and brush heads when travelling. Overall, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9300 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush is great high-quality electric toothbrush and I highly recommend it!

    Great clean

The Philips Sonicare smart tooth brush does a great job helping get your teeth extra clean. You can choose from a number of calling modes; clean, whitening, gum health and deep clean +. Some of the cleaning modes will have a longer brush timer, but the standard clean is two min. Unlike other my current electric toothbrush, I like how the Sonicare breaks up the timer in to six segments vs only four. This ensures you get adequate time on the front of your teeth. The brush works on its own but you get more out of your brushing while using the app. The app helps with set up and provides video tips for brushing. To you must open up the app and get to the brushing mode prior to turning on your toothbrush. Once that is done, there is a visual that aids you through the brushing process and helps you focus on correct angles and pressure. There are sensors in the brush head that helps facilitate this feature. I think the visual does a good job with instant feedback so you know you are getting a good clean in all areas. As a bonus at the end of the brushing session, if you happened to not do a good job in particular segments, the app will ask if you want to do touch ups in those areas. A truly remarkable feature to get you to learn how to brush properly. The app will give you stats of your brushing history. It will sync with the brushing activity you have done without the app on, however it will not provide the details in your brushing. I can see that brushing with the app on day in and day out could be a bit of a hassle, but time will tell. Perhaps scaling back after you get use to it would be an option and you can see if you are still doing a good job from time to time. If you notice you are not doing a good job, that could be an indicator. The packages comes with the handle, two brush heads, a travel case, a charging stand and a charging option in a rinse glass? I’ll be honest, I don’t see the rational with being able to charge the brush handle in the glass. If there is one complaint I have with this package, it is the travel case. The clasps is really weak. Barely holds the weight of the brush handle. Not very secure. Other than that, I think it’s a solid product and would recommend it.

    Helps develop better hygiene habits

This is definitely the fanciest toothbrush I've ever used. Pairing a toothbrush to my phone seems crazy. The real benefit to it though, is to help you develop better brushing habits. Of course that still requires some commitment from you, but if you're brushing regularly, but still getting cavities, this may get you on the right track. The catch is, you actually need the app open on your phone when starting a brushing session. The benefit to this is that it will tell you which area to brush, and will keep track of areas you have brushed. This helps with making sure you haven't missed anywhere. Once you've learned the pattern, you can go without the app, and just learn to switch areas when the brush momentarily pauses. It will double pause (if I remember correctly) if you are pressing too hard as well, so it also helps coach you with the appropriate amount of pressure. Once your phone is in range of the toothbrush, it will sync your brushing sessions, but it doesn't keep track of the areas your brushed, but it does track time and overall pressure. If you're really dedicated, it has some other features, such as adding areas of plaque buildup, bleeding areas, potential cavities, and gum recession. The only thing I wish it had was some gentle nudges to brush if I missed/skipped brushing, flossing, etc... It comes with a nice solid glass that you can use for holding the toothbrush, and holds the charger under it, so the toothbrush can charge while in the cup. This also means you could use the cup for rinsing your mouth too (if only I could remember to put it in the dishwasher). The battery is not replaceable. As a matter of fact, they have instructions for removing the battery for recycling, and it involves permanently breaking the bottom of the toothbrush to remove the battery. Planned obsolescence and I don't like it.

I’ve used the basic Sonicare toothbrushes for many years. They have been reliable and long lasting while also being good at what they are made for - brushing teeth. This 9300 series brush adds some genuinely useful smart features while being a more premium product overall than the basic Sonicare brushes I have used in the past. In the box you will find the brush with two heads, a travel case, and a customizable charging “cup”. You can place the brush in the cup or customize it to be more like a stand. The cup/stand piece is washable to keep it clean. The travel case is very premium feeling. The actual brushing experience is exactly as I expected from being accustomed to previous Sonicare brushes. The sonic vibration works just the same and your teeth end up feeling very thoroughly cleaned. The real significant features with this toothbrush come with the Bluetooth and app functionality. I downloaded the Sonicare app and my phone immediately detected the brush. Here, you can keep track of how often and how long you brush, and there is also a clean feature where you can see which teeth you may have missed. This is genuinely useful, as it keeps you on track to brush evenly throughout. It also tells you if you’re moving too fast or putting too much pressure on the teeth. Overall the smart features are easy to use and are genuinely useful, and certainly can help a person maintain better dental health.

I enjoy this brush system so far. But why am I giving it 4 stars. My main gripe with this is that it is not the best for traveling. This does not come with the charging case that they have. The charger itself is fairly heavy. If it at least has maybe a travel bag that you could store everything in to take with you, or the charging case, then I would give it a 5 star. the basic directions also say to use 1 of 3 brush tips and yet this only came with 2. The third was a tongue brush. This is not even provided on the back of the other brushes. Those are not to big of issues, as this comes with a case that holds the unit and 2 brush heads and it last a good amount of time. I do like that it does wireless charging and seems pretty easy to charge. You have 2 options, either use a cup and you just put the unit in the cup, or it has a stand. I have been using the cup myself. It has a couple different settings and speeds that you can choose from to perform different things such as clean and deep clean mode, white mode and gum health. You can also sync to a phone via their app and have it monitor for you. Most of the time even on low settings I find that these usually hurt and I end up using like a regular brush. So far this model does not hurt and when I am done using it, my mouth feels way cleaner. Overall a great product and easy to use. Leaves your mouth feeling cleaned.

This Philips Sonicare 9300 DiamondClean Smart is really pretty amazing. Easy to use with a helpful app that you will find you need more than you realize. It is build well and balances nicely in your hand. The various brush heads cover all your needs and are easy to swap out. And I might ad easy to find replacements for. I really like the charging base. Makes it easy to keep it charged. Being able to place the brush right in the included glass and just let it do its thing without needing to fumble with an actual plug is great. The power is of course adjustable. The top power level is incredibly powerful. Almost too much so. I mentioned the app before. Now you might think you don’t need an app to help you brush. But to get the best use out of the 9300 the app is important. It will communicate with the brush and give you details on how to best use each brush head. It will even give you slight movement in the brush handle when it’s time to move to the next section. Pretty ingenious if you ask me. Overall this is not just an electric toothbrush, it’s really an overall health care system for your teeth.

Sonicare for a while now and this brush makes you realize how much of a caveman I was brushing my teeth. This thing is so high tech and sleek and worth it. It comes with a plush outer plastic travel case, two brush heads, charger base, and a cup that sits on the base. Man the way I can toss my brush in the cup and charge alone is super cool. It looks sleek and works super well. The brushing experience is fantastic,l. I’ve never had my mouth feel so clean than after I use this brush. I paired it with the app and I feel that the app is really great for tempo and starting out with the brush. You can feel it pulse differently when it’s time to switch areas but the image gives a visual queue on what area to brush. It also will remind you if it’s too fast or too hard. It really shows how much I really sucked at brushing my teeth. I felt like it was always yelling at me while it was “training” me to brush my teeth. But after a few times it got easier. But this brush definitely upgraded my tooth brushing game. Definitely recommend the upgrade it’s totally work it.

The brush died after 2 years. The button seemed to need to be pressed a couple of times before turning on for about a week. Then it just died. For the amount of money I spent on this my toothbrush should last at least 5 yrs. Very upset bc this was an investment gone to waste.
