Good voice recorder for the price, however does not include a memory card slot. The packaging clearly says it has a slot expansion on this model but none can be found. Do not get this recorder if you want expandable or removable memory.

It was a good recorder. Once I downloaded and printed the manual, it was easy Peasy to operate. Although I couldn’t use it for what I needed (to record excessive noise coming from the apartment upstairs), it picked up everything in my surroundings. Lol I returned it but it would’ve been great if I wasn’t trying to record the noise coming through my ceiling.

Pros/Cons Pros: It records lectures in large rooms pretty well Its battery life is good fast type c charging Cons: WAY over priced! After 3 days, some of the paint has already chipped off!!! It says that it can be controlled via WiFi - HOWEVER it does not tell you that you need to use your mobile Phone's Hot-Spot (only way to do this)!!! No Bluetooth... Simple screen setup Can't change sound settings much. Have to use presets Feels cheaply made I'm only keeping this device since I need one now and I don't care if all the paint peels off. Also, too late for me to get my money back...

The Philips - VoiceTracer Audio Recorder's greatest feature is the timestamp capabilities. It makes it easy to track previously recorded conversations.

It eats batteries and would not recommend. I was recording a video project and used this as a backup and it died half way through the project. What made matters worst was I tried returning to Best Buy and one day past the return date and they wouldn’t take it back. Never again will I buy from Best Buy.

I broke my Olympus voice recorder so I bought the Philips as that was the best in stock. It has plenty of features but it's very difficult to operate. I have a process of using different folders for different types of dictation. The Philips makes it much more difficult to navigate the folder structure. It's not intuitive at all. There's almost no manual. I'm still not clear on how to end a recording and start a new one. One of my criteria for a good voice recorder is to be able to navigate mostly by touch and feel. The Philips just doesn't cut it in this regard. I simply MUST be looking carefully at the screen as I'm navigating functions. There's too much information on the screen and not enough easy buttons. The bluetooth doesn't seem to really do much for me. It's faster to connect it to the computer with a USB. As far as operating it with my cell phone, it sporadically disconnects, produces lag, and it's hard to tell when the app is actually running the thing. I've thought I was recording many times when I wasn't, losing crucial thoughts. This unit is also MUCH larger than my Olympus. It doesn't fit in the pocket I normally carry my recorder in. The unit itself feels a little on the "insubstantial" side. It's too light for its size and doesn't feel as solid as the Olympus. The recordings seem to be of good quality and there is an abundance of features. I just can't really figure out how to use all the features as they require a very non-intuitive navigation that I simply can't muster while I'm driving or walking. I've decided that I'm going back to Olympus and I'll use this thing as a desperation spare.

I've had six voice recorders over the past 15 years, using one every day of the work week.... so I think I have a good handle on what is important in this type of a recorder. The major reason I purchased the unit is that the Wifi control of the unit was a MAJOR advantage. That mode of operation was easily controlled and the audio quality of the recordings was on par with older models from Sony.... but I had to return the VoiceTracer to Best Buy for one major GLARING reason.... the inability to mute the speaker sounds from button presses and wifi activation/deactivation. The user interface should be able to be controlled so that menu selections/button pushes don't create a noise... and WORST OF ALL... when you begin a recording via wifi, the unit makes a beeping sound that could NOT be turned off. This makes the unit completely useless for me, as I use my units to capture my interactions where the beep would be considered an annoyance. Wifi control was OK... but with the beeping caused by starting/stopping recording, it was not functional for me. LASTLY the other thing I hated about it is the size. It is WAY larger than my Sony... or even my 12 year old Olympus voice recorders. The Wifi would have been neat... but it just doesn't overcome the negatives. Huge disappointment.

This device is sepreme. You can connect to snap dragon to transcribe and download the phillips voice tracer to store files on your phone if the mirco SD storage isn't enough. Files can be transfered to a laptop/desk top computer to store files too. The device is pretty and has clear sound. Also, the device can be proped up on a tripod for meetings. There is a insert on the back to connect to a tripod.

Good voice recording. No issues with the audio quality. My complaint is the software that you'd think comes with it is not free. It's also difficult to know the time recordings are being made if it's set to auto record when the mic is activated.
