This game brings the DnD feel to PS4. If you liked Baldur's Gate this brings back some of that nostalgia feel.

Great game although story line could be better and not so much blood and guts. Would not recommend to gamers under 18.

I LOVE Obsidian. They're one of the best game creators out there! I love this game, which is an old school RPG, but darn it, the loading screens are stomach turning. I wish they could have done something about those during the production. Besides that, great RPG.

A fun and throwback style RPG, with branching fantasy elements. It's great to still see this style of RPG is alive and well. While not the most visually intense action-RPG, it feels like the classic, fantasy tale. It isn't PS4 Pro enhanced.

If you liked the old Infinity Engine games way back when, when Black Isle was king, then you'll probably like this one. It's made with the same design philosophy and visual style that those older RPG games had.

I tried, I really did. Been playing this game for days now. I adore Obsidian and have rarely been disappointed by them. And I'm a gamer who grew up on PC RPGs. Been video gaming for decades. But we've moved past this era, haven't we? Do people still watch silent films in this day and age? Do gamers want Dragon Quest 1 when they can have Witcher 3? Pillars of Eternity seems to TAKE an eternity to play. This is a game with no artistic direction, zero cinematography, a game with laughably bad graphics, a game with virtually zero visual pyrotechnics-- and yet I can handle all that. The story is pedestrian, slow, and requires you to read tiny, unfulfilling text at every corner, at least when the D-minus voice acting isn't piercing your brain. Yet I can handle all that, too. Where I draw the line is laboriously slow, unfulfilling, tedious combat which requires you to cycle through every one of your party members and all of their commands just to go ONE round of a battle. Multiply this by dozens for longer battles and, well, I was screaming into my controller by day two of this game. This is not a game made for consoles, and it shows glaringly and unflinchingly. Simply changing someone's armor is a rigamarole that puts several different windows in your face at once, occasionally blocking the armor itself. I could list more reasons why I'm disappointed, but my keyboard might not last that long. You a JRPGer? You a fan of Witcher or KOTOR? Skip this. You've moved on from slow, plodding, ancient games. Move on from this one, too.

this one is simple: if you loved the old isometric Baldur's Gate games, you should love Pillars. If you didn't, I'd recommend staying away as there is not much change here.
