I owned Pinnacle Studio Version 14 for many years and it worked great. Decided to upgrade to Version 17. Apparently Avid/Pinnacle was acquired by Corel Corporation a few years ago... and this new product is GARBAGE! It often will not completely load or -- when it does open -- it frequently locks up when working on a project! Unlike Avid, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a live tech support person on the phone at Corel/Roxio. They insist on emailed questions and you have to register product to get a code to allow you to send TS an email. Great... I did and their link does not recognize the code they sent me! Now it's a Catch 22 where they ask you to again register the product. I finally called a Minnesota # for sales/customer support... that was answered in the Philippines. The lady with heavily accented English took 20 minutes to process my refund request. Overall, I wasted 2-1/2 hours trying to get P-17 to work and to find a working phone # and to get a refund! Avoid all products by Corel/Roxio/Pinnacle. Quality is Bad. Tech Support is non-existent!

Although Pinnacle 17 Ultimate is advertised as being on sale @ Best Buy this week, it is the 16 Ultimate box that is in their system. We discovered this when buying online for pickup. The clerk gave me the 16 package. After identifying as not the Ultimate 17 box that was advertised on sale, they scanned the barcode and it registered as the '17'. #I would highly recommend not purchasing this online or you may be stuck with the previous version when delivered.# In trying to resolve this, I was told all stores likely had the Ultimate 16 box and not the newer version. There was not an option for a rain check as they had no indication when the correct version would be in their system much less in actual inventory. After much frustration, we ended up with the sale invalidated with no backorder or rain check. These were not options they could offer us; we did ask. Note: the online ad for Ultimate 17 shows both boxes represented. This is quite simply careless marketing.

I used to be a proponent of Pinnacle software but after having so much difficulty with the stability of the product - on a variety of computer systems - I had to look for another product. I went through great lengths to work through the issues with the manufacturer but they were not responsive and were unapologetic about putting out software that was clearly not ready for the masses.

I am a long time Studio user (version 11) and recently bought this version for my new computer. Sadly I was severely disappointed. First off customer service has been outsourced to the middle east so that is going to be a waste of time. If you are a GoPro user you will be required to purchase an unlock from the website in which the website doesn't work either even after paying the $129 for the Ultimate. I am using Windows 8 and the communication between the program and Windows seems to also cause it to freeze or crash. I once loved the program but sadly I wasted my money with this version and will look elsewhere.

I was told by Pinnacle Support that it no longer supports Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate and it is not compatible with Windows 10. I don't know why Best Buy is still offering it.

Won't import full audio files, need a high end computer for smooth functioning, opening large folders for files to import doesn't work completely, and won't place text on clips. For a program that you have to pay for, I expected much more ease of use and less frustration.
