This is a great replacement for my old system. It has more power and functions and it sounds fantastic.I just love all the bells and whistles that it has. Now I'll have to replace my speakers with newer and better ones. Great price & Great buy.

We really love this receiver. Has room to plug in everything. Only down side is the radio Internet is really just the ones mentioned on the box. We were hoping to have Iheart. But no worries, with Bluetooth we are able to stream via IPad.

This unit was purchased to replace a non-HDMI Yamaha unit for my parents. There are 4 HDMI 2.x/HDCP 2.2 ports on the back, so current 4K technology should e compatible for a while. The unit was easy to setup and easy to operate. It is being used on a 1080i monitor, so I can't review any details on 4K. The sound is great. I tested it with some uncompressed Blu-ray audio. It sounds great. Like any amplifier, the speakers are the other half of the equation. People who have bad experiences with the unit may not have the right speakers.

This was easy to set up...the interface instructions are displayed on your tv and the included microphone for speaker set up helps tremendously. Power clean sound...handles my 4K signal from my blu ray with ease.

I have never really put Pioneer in the same ring with Yamaha, Denon and the other main mid range brands but when I was in need of a new receiver this one was on sale. After reading many reviews and educating myself if figured I would give it a shot. Super pleased with the ease of set up and performance easily noticeable difference to my old Sony. I got this on sale and had reward points so I got it at a huge discount. Combine the performance, cost and ease of operation make this a unbeatable purchase in my mind. I am an average audio file a few movies here and there, my son games a little and it's filled all our needs.

Noticed a marked improvement in the quality of sound from the systems I have had before. That may not sound like a very profound statement, but coming from someone over 60 years old with diminishing hearing sensitivity, I think it says a lot about this product. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that I was in the market for a receiver that would play HD radio channels and the description for this product said it did. I does not.... Come to find out that HD reception is probably on its way out, so I gave up on finding a system that received them. I was able to set it up to receive the music type I was looking for through Pandora.

Recently my house was hit by nearby lightning and I needed a new receiver as well as some other electronics. I purchased the Elite 301 as an open box item primarily for the price but after purchasing it I would've spent the full price on it. This replaced a Pioneer 1021-k which was a really nice receiver. What makes the Elite 301 so much better is really 2 things, sound quality and interface. The sound quality on lower volume is clearer. My living room is 15' x 22' and I have in ceiling 5, SpeakerCraft AIM Wide 5. Love my surround system even more now.

i got this because i love pioneer and my old Integra 7 year old receiver died. Stopped putting HDMI pictures through. This one has worked liek a charm, and I integrated it with a projection Pioneer TV monitor, surround sound speakers, and a Logitech Harmony remote. (Old one was Universal Remote which requires professional programming for a high cost--never ever use them).
Pioneer set up was a bit tricky but now it is great. Integration with internet has worked well.

This is my third pioneer receiver in the last 20 years. All are still working, they were all change in tech upgrades. Everything about this receiver is great. One thing I didn't know. Added a set of Atmos speakers to the front. Set up a 7.1.2 configuration. Found out that the Atmos speakers and the rear surrounds won't work at the same time. Atmos gives me 5.1.2, DTS-HD gives me 7.1. For an Elite model I thought it would drive all the speakers. I'm going to do some more research on this. The price is reasonable for an Elite. Shook hands with all other equipment well. Set up was very easy. Don't get me wrong 5.1.2 sounds great. DTS-X upgrade coming thru new firmware.

I got this when it was on sale and when I purchased a new LG OLED. The sound is incredible. I had a Denon receiver previously and this one just blows it out of the water. I was thinking I wouldn't notice any sound difference since I didn't upgrade my speakers. Boy was I wrong. The surround sound is noticeably better. Highly recommended.

This receiver has all the features you need and want to control your home theater system. I bought and installed this receiver for my parents who have a little of every type of component - some new (HDMI) and some very old (RCA). There was a place to connect them all. The sound is incredible and the design is sleek. The on-screen menus are pretty straightforward and complete...and did I mention that it's wireless?

I was reluctant and hesitant to replace my receiver with a Pioneer thinking incorrectly that other brands may be more advanced. But after reviewing several sources, I decided to go back to Pioneer and have been impressed yet again 20 yrs later. Once a leader, always a leader in this case. Programming and setting zones easy and straightforward. Also equipped and ready for some new upcoming formats not yet available.

This is a good unit for movies but for music you need to know how to set up the EQ for each speaker to sound good. I have had sony pioneer, harmon kardon and the harmon sounds the best just not enough power. This pioneer has power but difficult eq to set up. Take your time and you might get the sound you're looking for. Also it clicks like the amp is going into standby mode but the speakers keep on playing. I haven't heard it do this during music but watching a movie or regular tv i have. Don't really like it doing that. But not a deal breaker. Wifi is good and Bluetooth works well.
