I have had many speakers from cheap Sony's all the way up to world class Bowers & Wilkins, and I would have to say that these are closer to the Bowers than the Sony's. Easy to hook up with only two banana plugs per speaker, and nice with the removable grills. Give the crossover some time to warm up and break in, (2-4 hours of moderate volume) and the lower two woofers will reproduce some decent low range. Over all a great buy for the price, and compared to the Polk towers and Klipsch towers next to them, they sound just as good.

I bought 2 of these speakers from an online retailer and couldn't be more pleased. These are an excellent value even at their regular price. They have a clear sound and believe it or not the bass isn't bad either. It's not booming or anything but it does sound good. As long as you have a decent receiver I think anyone would be pleased with the sound of these speakers in this price range.

I purchased 2 pair of these SP-FS52, the center channel SP-C22 and a pair of the rear bookshelf speakers SP-BS22-LR along with the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX301 receiver and a pair of 100 watt subs SW-8mk. After wiring all this up in a 12X16 room It was time to turn it on. Sound was spectacular. Made some speaker placement adjustments and did the microphone test. After that it sounded even better. After about 30 hours to listening at low levels I finally cranked it up. The receiver pumps out massive power and this 7.2 system is more than I expected. Everything is on point. I watched one of my favorites Saving Private Ryan I knew the 1,500 plus dollars I spent with Best Buy was the best purchase I made in 2016. I recommend any and all these Pioneer Andrew Jones designed speakers and subs to anyone on a budget or not. Great sound quality and the value is unbelievable.

We needed to replace the original speakers on our Sony Stereo system. We saw these pioneer speakers in Best Buy and they were the cheapest ones. To tell you the truth they did not sound that great inside the store that we were considering other speakers around $100 more each, but at home these sound great. They sound clear and crisp with good bass. This speaker is an awesome value for the money. They look great and save space due to they are slim. They are around 1/3 the cabinet size of our original speakers. We are so happy with our purchase.

These speakers are awesome! They sound really good for what you pay for them and the bass is really good if you don't have a sub. I came from the RTR-BIC 1530 floor speakers and the bass on these sounded 10x better than those. Crazy. Get these while you can!

Great sound after playing for a year!!

I've been listening to music through these speakers for over a year, in two different homes, and these are the best sounding speakers I've owned. I use a Marantz 1403 receiver, which is the baby of the family, but I get more out of the speakers than I need for where I am. Amazingly clear reproduction, but see for yoursefi--I played vinyl of Norah Jones, and I had to stop what I was doing to listen, the sound was so delicious.

I bought these to replace a pair of 40+ year old 15" speakers. These speakers sound very good through my 17 year old Pioneer receiver putting out 100 watts per channel. I imagine they would sound even better through a newer receiver putting out 130 watts per channel. The high, mid and base are very good for such small speakers at such a low price. I just hope they will last 40+ years like my old speakers.

    Great Home Theater Speakers

I had a Samsung soundbar for years that I used to power my home theater audio, it was loud enough but the quality of the sound was lacking, and it only had 1 HDMI port that quit working years ago, which forced me to use the Optic and switch it out every time i switched viewing devices. I decided instead of replacing the sound bar I would purchase a receiver and 2 of these, as well as a cheap center channel i got from Goodwill. The sound out of these with the SONY STRDH550 is awesome! Great soundtracks plenty of bass (not as loud as a woofer, but my wife always tells me to turn it down anyways) and the speaking is incredible. If you want to spend $500 on sound you can't beat this combination with any soundbar/woofer setup. Also music sounds incredible through these as to be expected.

    Fantastic budget speakers

I can't believe these speakers cost as little as they do. I've heard nothing in this price range that compares to these. They sound fantastic. They have great sounding tweeters with a good amount of mid bass punch. They actually produce a decent about of bass to around 50hz. The way they sound comes close to speakers costing as much as 3 times as much. I've very satisfied with my purchase.

I bought these to replace an older set of speakers that I was using in my listening room. I am driving them with a mid 80's Onkyo Integra receiver. Listening to a CD through my Onkyo cd player is simply magic. The mids and highs are sublime. The bass is pretty good also. I don't have a sub hooked up yet don't find myself wanting more bass. The music just sounds so real, like the band is right there playing for just you. Get these speakers, you won't regret it!!!

This is, indeed a Terrific Speaker!!! Many folks will consider this, an entry level model, due to the modest price. Be that as it may, entry level or no, this Speaker System is beyond First Class in Sound Quality. The whole Pioneer - Andrew Jones Line - is First Class, Sound-wise. I bought this Speaker on sale for $99.99 each. $212 including tax for a pair of these SPF52's is beyond belief, Value Wise & Sound Wise. You just cannot do better then this. I had heard and read about this line of speakers, and was doubtful. I have now purchased and used them in my home. I fully recommend them too anyone. Plus, operate them with a 10-12 Powered Sub, and you will be listening Full Range Happy - All the Way!!!

    Budget music/home theater. Awesomness

If you are on a budget and dead set on a quality sounding music/home theater setup, look no further these andrew jones speakers are awesome. The sound is engaging you can loose yourself in your music or movies the high's are good and the base is just right they are that good. Build quality is good but they are bulky and only come in black. If your'e main focus is home theater i would go with 3 of these floor standing speakers for your 3 front channels, it gives better uniformity (center speaker is good but when it is action packed movie it tends to get a little throaty not much but noticeable) for my sorround speakers the bookshelves pair up with these towers very well but avoid the sub it is not up to par with the rest of the line up ,For the price you can't get anything better. Also these tend to do great in a small to medium size room they are more than capable of filling that space with powerfull rich sound, but in large rooms it can leave you wanting more ( hey for the price you can't have everything) if you have a large room i would go for the andrew jones elac debut series, but if you have a regular size room these are your speakers. Pros. Exelent price, sound, build Cons. None has of yet.

    Nice job Pioneer

I have to say I was surprised when I listened to these speakers in the store, and then at home. Pioneer has done a great job with the design and sound of these speakers, especially at the price. These are medium-efficiency speakers that work very well as either music-only or home theater speakers. They are tall towers but have a small foot print, which makes for easy placement. They are ported in the rear, so proper placement will be very important for best bass response. DO NOT place them too close to the wall behind them or in a corner or the bass will be uncontrolled, boomy, and muddy. Experimenting with placement will be required to obtain the most balanced sound. At 87 dB, they are medium efficient, so make sure your receiver or amplifier has enough power. I have used these speakers in a music-only and home theater configuration and am very please with the results. High frequencies are not shrill or shreaky and....again, when placed properly....mids and lows are nice and well-controlled.

Excellent speakers, great sound, good bass and they look good! They are kind of unstable on carpeted floors hence they need to be secured to the wall.

I wanted larger speakers to replace some smaller speakers I have had for some time, or use them in addition to the smaller speakers. These speakers fit the bill and I am happy with my purchase. The reviews I read seemed to indicate they were a good buy for the price I paid at the time (they were on sale), and I agree.

This is my first home theater system so I don't really have a good basis for comparison...but for the price, these speakers are awesome! They sound wonderful for both music and movies/TV. The only minor concerns are that they require a fair amount of power to drive - which means that you have to turn up the volume more than you normally would - and looks-wise, they're only okay.

I bought a new receiver and decided upgrading speakers was in order. I did significant research and everything I read about these speaker made me decide to try them. I compared them in the store to speakers more than twice the price and could not justify the cost of the others. When I got them home I was right they are a great buy. I went back and bought 2 more so now I have 4 speakers plus the 2 matching centers (one front one back) and I have never experienced surround sound like it before. I also have my original subwoofer to supplement the base. I recommend getting a pair before they are all gone!

Nice set of towers for the money. Added the center channel speaker and plan to get surrounds at some point. Clear crisp sound and does have some bass but won't wow you with the power.

Great stereo pair for small home theater

I purchased a pair of these speakers from Best Buy on 08/19/2013. The Pioneer SP-FS52 speakers were installed in a bedroom system. They replaced a pair of Audioengine P4s on 24-inch stands, which are themselves pretty nice speakers, just a little small for handling the dynamics for watching TV and movies. I hooked them up using 14-gauge wire with banana plugs. These speakers will accept bananas, but you must unscrew the terminal collar and removed the small plastic red and black plugs. The European Union specifies that round plugs on 3/4-inch centers (like banana plugs) be blocked to keep someone from accidentally plugging a speaker into a wall electrical outlet. The SP-FS52s were mounted on 12-inch stands to bring them up to a more suitable height for a 42-inch HDTV. After a week of (what I suspect was unnecessary) burn-in, these speakers sound great! There's a little more treble extension now, a more fully-developed midrange (dialog is much more understandable) and a LOT more bass extension than what I had with the P4s. I'm extremely happy with these speakers, as I suspected I would be, having purchased the previous versions of the Andrew Jones designs (SP-BS-41-LR fronts, SP-C21 center, SP-BS21-LR surrounds and SW-8 subwoofer, all also purchased from Best Buy) for my living room home theater system.
