I love this radio! I installed it in my 99 Solara (perfect fit). The sound is perfect, the customization, back up camera, bluetooth all work well. What does not work well is the pioneer app. I can't understand how in 2016 with all the advancement in cell phone tech that pioneer cant seem to get it's apps to work with the radio. You can get navigation through its app if it works. I wish pioneer would include garmin or tom tom maps with it's head units and have it for less than $400.
I don't know why this radio is not available in best buy stores or even included in search. I did not buy it from Best Buy.

Corvette C6 swap to Kenwood, which never worked right, then to this Pioneer. This unit covers all of my needs, is simple to operate and sounds nice; nicer than the Kenwood. It has a great EQ and supports all possible audio sources. The tuners (HD, XM) are snappy, none of this waiting forever to get a signal. The phone has a couple of surprises. Seems to have activated a pin drop every time I exit the car

I did a bunch of research on radios with touchscreen, Sirius ready and HD radio. I was looking to stay under $300 bucks. Well the Pioneer avh-3800-Bhs meet the criteria! It has a nice screen, blue tooth capable and lots of features for the price. I can connect my iPhone using the USB cable or Bluetooth and stream music. The sound is incredible from my speakers compared to the factory original. Also can use Waze for directions and display maps on the screen which is a nice feature.

I had a stock stereo in my 05 Nissan Titan and this unit put the current day technology for a good price. The stock speakers have better sound, Bluetooth works great and the unit fits perfect w the kit the geek squad installed.

Does everything you need and then some. Don't bother with APP Radio for Navigation. If you want true navigation you'll have to step up to the NEX line.

Excellent receiver for the money

I absolutely love this receiver, and it is a must have over the factory radio. The bluetooth connectivity is easy and lightning fast. The sound using Pandora, HD Radio, and Bluetooth streaming is CD quality. SiriusXM is, well, SiriusXM - very compressed and a tad bit muffled, but that is not the receiver's fault. The SiriusXM tuner is required if you decide to add that on. All of the above will generally display the album art, and that's pretty cool. DVD video and sound quality are fabulous.
My only knock on this radio is really not so much with the radio. It is with Pioneer and the AppRadio One app for Android that will not connect with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. It is very well documented online that it will only work with iPhone and a handful of Android phones, and Pioneer has dropped the ball, particularly with a top-of-the-line smartphone like the S7. I would love to have the functionality that, quite honestly, I expected when I purchased the receiver.
All that to say, I love the purchase, and I highly recommend this to anyone, particularly those who enjoy utilizing and exploring HD Radio channels. The sound on those channels really jumps off the page.

trouble reading some tags

Overall a decent stereo, but if you run into issues don't expect a lot of help from Pioneer (see Cons below).
My biggest gripe is this stereo has trouble reading some tags on M4a files that I've edited with MP3Tag, a popular editor. When I contacted Pioneer by email, I was told several times to call in and my ticket closed. I finally took off two hours of work to call in and was immediately told to email the file as they couldn't help over the phone. Zoinks! Thanks for nothing... Ok, I tried that and was told, "we don't know".
While it may seem reasonable that MP3Tag is to blame for the tags not being read by the AVH-X3800BHS, I have two other Pioneer radios (SC-63 and DEH-X8700BHS) that read the tags just fine. The tags are also read just fine by iTunes, my iPod, my Android phone, Windows Media Player, MediaMonkey, PerfecTunes and absolutely everything else I try it on. I got nowhere with Pioneer support, nevermind two other pieces of Pioneer equipment have no trouble at all with those tags.
* USB is hit or miss on every USB thumb drive I've tried. Keep it close to where you can disconnect and connect it again, about 50% of the time the drive will not read
* Decent little stereo
* Phone functions are nice
* FLAC support

Matched price on Amazon. User friendly interface and easy install. Everyone that rides with me is much happier now. I use the USB to put all my MP3s on. no more 50 CDs in the car.

Excellent stereo, when it works

I purchased this stereo in June of last year and had it instelled at a best buy. The stereo was amazing and I truely loved it, but when the weather started to turn cold it quit working untill my vehicle would warm up from the heater. As time went on the situation got worse. Now it is June 2016 in south east Texas, and the stereo only works sometimes. If my a/c is on the stereo will turn on and off. I have since found others posting online with this same problem with pioneer recievers.
