Great sound. Easy to hook up. Had a denon in the past, this is easily a better receiver and got it at a great price. 200 dollars off!!!!

I'm sure you can easily spend a lot more than you'll spend on this receiver, BUT I'm not sure how much better the performance will be unless you're in a studio producing sound or you have $100K in Audio / Video equipment. I sampled +/- 7 different receivers, and have 2 others in my home presently and this Pioneer Elite absolutely RIPS! It has all the inputs you could possibly need, 2 channels for multiple area sound, and puts out all the power you could possibly need. What may be one of the best features (that I didn't even know about until AFTER the purchase) is the app you can download to take you stepbystep through the installation process, then through a really nice acoustical setup that balances and all your settings for you (like if you were having a professional do the install). It will prompt you to the specific theater setup you have (5.1, 7.1 etc), the precise speaker configuration, sound desire you have...then tune everything for you. Big time recommend on this one!

Vsx-45 has been great so far. I'm having trouble getting my PlayStation to get both audio and video. Besides that sound is clear, and most of its features work pretty good. The blue tooth works but the clarity is pretty bad. I'm running definitive technology and I like that I can hook up two subwoofers to this unit. The calibration feature is pretty amazing and really enhances the sound. Overall a well built product, powerful but if I could do it again I would go with more power like the vsx-90.

Works great for the basic HT system. Has all the upgrades necessary for the future. Sounds great easy to configure.

I have the smaller Pioneer 45 80 W just like the 90 -sound volume is more than adequate for the Definitive Technology tower speakers. Surely excellent for 5-speaker home theater, but we are happy with simple stereo. Sound quality is excellent. Took a while to figure out connection with internet, with the 143 page manual. Many extra features for those into home theater a lot

Picked this unit up during the holiday sale. This is my first home receiver so I haven't got anything to compare it to. But as a newbie, I can say it was easy to hook the unit up to my television and to my Xbox 1. The Bluetooth and iPad features are a plus.

Go this receiver during post-Thanksgiving sale, great sound and easy to set up and operate.

The receiver works well with all of our components. It was easy to set up. My wife did it very fast. The only thing we noticed is a lag in the picture turning on after the sound when comes on first as we change channels or turning the Direct TV box on. We are not sure if it's a Direct TV issue or a receiver delay. Other wise the picture and sound is great on our new 4K TV.
