There is a volume drop when used for 5.1 setting. 4-stars only because the one I have had the GUI display flickering, probably just a lemon.

Good sound with trouble

However the features like memory presets for sound don't work the way you think and even with 30 years in IT I can't figure it out.

Had to return to the HDMI video processing issues

See images attached. One is an Amazon Fire TV 4k wired directly to my Vizio M60-C3, and the other is wired through the VSX-45. You can clearly tell which is which.

I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent sound staging and overall sound quality. I was attracted to it partly because it seemed to be the only 5.2 amp that allowed you to bi-amp by assigning the surround amps also to the front. My speakers have 2 sets of binding posts so I was able to fully utilize this function for 2 channel sound and it really made a difference. I attached a small front speaker for whenever I need great sound for tv viewing and it's of course way better than most sound bars.
