I had Yamaha and did not compare to this receiver. To me Pioneer is simply the best and the Elite series is outstanding.

I have owned several high end Pioneer receivers over the last 30 years then changed to Denon after Pioneer was Purchased by the owners of Denon. I bought a this Pioneer receiver in March of 2021 and have had terrible Bluetooth connection problems. The sound quality is excellent and overall performance satisfactory but the Bluetooth problems have moved to return the receiver and exchange it for another manufacturer, probably Denon.

Was hoping it had a similar sound to the Ice Power of the old SC Elite receivers, but it did not sound great with room calibration. Ended up returning it.

THE TUNER WAS FAR MORE COMPLEX THAN I WAS LED TO BELIEVE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD HANDLE 3 ZONES, BUT WHEN THE GEEK SQUAD INSTALLED IT, I WAS INFORMED THAT ZONES 2 & 3 HAD TO BE ANALOG AND NOT DIGITAL.

I’m not going to buy pioneer products ever again. This was my 3rd time buying it & had same problem each time, they stopped working while playing music. Now I know they have very poor quality .

We had to return our first receiver due to it not working and then the second product was physically broken. We never had the chance to use the Sonos compatibility feature, however, it was a selling point for us.

Good sounding receiver, slow on switching sources.

I am pretty happy with the receiver, it was easy to set up and it sounds pretty good. I have no issues passing a 4K HDR signal from my Direct TV box through this receiver and to the TV (after a few minutes of playing with the remotes). The only issue I have with this unit is that it takes forever to switch between sources, and then I have to turn things off/on for it to recognize a source. For instance, if I am watching a blu ray, I have to switch to Direct TV prior to shutting the unit off or it will not pass a Direct TV signal on a standby. I also have to shut off/on the Direct TV box for the receiver to recognize the source. After a few minutes, I am back in business. Of course, this may be driven by a Direct TV / Sony TV issue while they are working out HDMI handshake issues through the Pioneer receiver. Annoying, but workable.
