This little unit surprised me, right out of the box it was a clear cut install like all others, one thing I liked was the fact that it has power outputs for the cameras (front and rear), needed to replace a broken unit wanted some CarPlay action! Get it all buttoned up and paired Bluetooth and boom!!!! It automatically saw I had an iPhone and asked to pair wireless CarPlay. No extra steps nothing but fluid magic!! Touch screen is super responsive and clear ! My install was at night and let me tell you, the image from my reverse camera came in clear!! Boot times aren’t too bad give or take 10 sec and another 5-7 to connect to Bluetooth but in a pinch, radio on reverse selected camera on, no need for full boot for that ! Tweaked the audio settings a bit, got some clean sound and hooked up my bass amp and rolled with it ! Much better sound than my last unit!

Really great unit. I did a good amount of research online for my 2007 Civic because there’s so many options and the idea of wireless CarPlay stood out. I love that you can upload movies to a USB drive but make sure you convert them to a supported media file. Overall, solid product. I do wish that CarPlay started automatically when Bluetooth pairs but that only happens if you press on “Phone” first to pair Bluetooth. Worth the money though

Overall, this isn't a bad deck.
For the good..
Its got good sound quality, i like the capacitive screen(scrolling on a car stereo is not something in used to, but it's nice) i like the trajectory functions, allows for better fine tuning than average, good work on that. The menu design is nice, pretty intuitive...
The video quality is very nice, doesn't look like much is sacrificed, crisp picture...
On the downside, i can only get video to play through usb storage, through the Android auto, only the audio comes through...
Through the usb storage, i could not get videos formatted mp4 to play, however, avi and mkv work just fine...
The usb port is on a cable, which isn't long enough to use while the deck is installed, so you might want to get an extention before you install the deck
There isn't a dedicated sd slot, but you can use an adapter through the usb slot and it still works, just be sure your usb storage is formatted in exFAT.
There is no installation sleeve, which is both good and bad, bad cause it makes the install much more complicated, but good cause it also makes it much harder to steal...
And finally, there are a couple of spelling errors within the programming(cannel instead of cancel and advance settings instead of advanced settings). I know that's being nit picky, but it's something that shouldn't have been overlooked

Nice Wireless CarPlay for 2016 Corolla S

5 stars for the device as well as the Best Buy Installation Service.
Kudos to Brandon at Best Buy, Marlborough who installed the device as well as enabled the Back-Up Camera and the Steering Wheel Controls.
Bought the Planet Audio Wireless CarPlay as I wanted to upgrade the factory audio on my 2016 Corolla S with a CarPlay.
Pros:
=====
-> Great deal from Best Buy for a Wireless CarPlay. Got it for USD 359.99.
-> Free Car Audio Installation Service at Best Buy.
-> The device itself is a great fit for my 2016 Corolla S.
-> The display is not HD, but really good for the price.
-> The touchscreen is smooth and easy to navigate.
-> The Wireless CarPaly gets connected easily in about 10-15 seconds after I start the car.
-> Audio and radio felt great to me.
-> Can change the "Settings" without having to apply the Parking Brake. I heard it's not possible with some newer devices. Brandon told he took care of it by grounding it.
-> Back-Up Camera that pre-existed on my car works perfectly (Though Brandon told me I might have to get another aftermarket harness for it. However, he managed to make it work without any additional purchase.)
-> Steering Wheel Controls worked nicely with the PAC SWI-CP2 installation for my 2016 Corolla S. Supports Volume, Track Change (Up and Down Arrows), Mode, Call Answer/ Decline, and Siri buttons.
Note that we initially tried a Maestro - Universal Analog Steering Wheel Interface - Black for the SWC, but only the Volume and Siri buttons worked.
Brandon then suggested me the PAC SWI-CP2.
He took care of returning the Maestro SWI and installed the PAC SWI-CP2 for no additional cost as I already paid for the Steering Wheel Control Install service. Glad that he tried it out as now all the needed buttons on my Steering Wheel are working, especially the Volume and Track change Arrows as it can be annoying to reach out to the touchscreen every time to change the music while driving.
Cons:
======
-> No SiriusXM Ready device.
-> No Video rendering (maybe good for Safety).
-> Steering Wheel Arrow Keys cannot be used for Call Screen Up and Down Navigation, but only for a Music change. Not sure if it's a limitation with the CarPlay or the SWC.
-> Additional equipment needed costs about USD 80:
1. Metra - Vehicle Mount for Radio - Charcoal: USD 49.99
2. Metra - Antenna Adapter for Most 2009 and Later Lexus Vehicles - Black: USD 13.99
3. Metra - Wiring Harness for Most 1987 and Later Toyota Scion Vehicles - Multicolored: USD 16.99
However, Best Buy added it automatically to the Cart depending on the Car Make, Model, and Year which is great as we don't end up with any wrong items.
-> Also, the Steering Wheel Control device needs to be purchased separately. Best Buy doesn't add it to the Cart or inform that before. Was a bit shocked to know that we have to buy it for an additional cost! I got the PAC SWI-CP2 which cost about USD 80.
-> Again, to install this SWC at Best Buy, we have to pay for the Steering Wheel Control Install service which is another 65 bucks. Apparently, the SWC installation is not included in the Free Car Audio Installation service.
It would have been great if this information was made available online when purchasing the CarPlay device.
-> Finally, I also added a 4-Year Geek Squad Protection Plan for the Audio for 4 years (USD 50) as I read from reviews that if any issues after installation Best Buy won't do any repairs.
In total, I ended up paying USD 665 for the CarPlay, Wiring Harness Items, SWC, and Installation, and the 4-Year Geek Squad Protection Plan for the Audio.

The first radio I had needed to be replaced after about 5 months and they ended up replacing it for me with no warranty but I constantly had to go there multiple times to get something done.

Its ok, it does what it says it does, and it works.. but for the price, i was hoping for more features.. also it is not Sat ready (as it says on the site)
all in all it works fine, its expensive for what it is, if i'd had experience with it, i would have spent another75 or so and went with Alpine..
But i'm happy so far.. 2 stars because its very expensive for what it is, and the whole satellite ready thing (and absolute minimum on features)

Horrible radio. Nothing but problems. Paid for geek squad protection which thank goodness I did but even that was a crock, so instead of replacing it or repairing it as their policy states they send me a credit for the price I paid which was at a sale at the time. So they didn’t replace it instead I have to get the same car radio since not too many options from them and pay more rhay what I paid for. But going back to radio. Horrible sound quality, both blue tooth and wireless loses as I’m driving. powers off while I’m driving. Sirius sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. And volume button takes forever to adjust. If I can go back I would never ever get thjs radio but due to Best Buy lack of selection seems like I have no choice but to get it for more than what I initially paid for. At first I thought it was my Apple car play but since then I got a brand new iPhone and even tried it with a galaxy and still the same issues. This happened twice already on two radios since I was able to return the first one since it was 45 days within return. This is how the second radio and I only had it for four months.

Hi just installed this digital media receiver yesterday. Had a chance to ride around and really get the feel for all the bells and whistles it has to offer. I love the camera connection features and the picture quality is great. Audio sounds even better. I would definitely recommend this as a go to item if your in store for a upgrade to your vehicle.
