Definitely worth a watch. A timeless classic that still stands today.

This story is beautifully filmed and important, but it suffers from an affliction that many period films based on a single central figure endure: No one except the main character is interesting enough to care for.

The film has wonderful makeup and effects, but the script is the biggest trouble with the film. Actors did their best but the prequels outshine it significantly.

Great classic film with Chareton Heston. Paved the way for today's remakes. This is a great film to add to your collection

I bought this because as a kid my parents wouldn’t let me watch it, lol. Fyi it was really not worth the wait.

I never saw this the whole way through but after viewing a standard DVD, I was able to get the blu-ray cheap from Best Buy. Great picture quality, sound and extras make this a great deal if you don't care about the sequels. Oh yeah, Linda Harrison is a babe!!!

This version is better than the remake. It sends a powerful message.

First of Charlton Heston's disaster based movies the ending caught everyone by surprise. Concept is interesting and interesting to watch.

This first film of the famed ‘Planet Of the Apes’ series is excellent, and highly recommended. Finally getting proper special edition dvd treatment. Highly recommended!

This pan & scan version chops the aspect ratio of the film from its original 2.35:1 widescreen ratio, down to 1.33:1. The result, you lose almost 50% of the picture in every frame! Buy the widescreen version.
