I find it difficult to rate most products 1-star but the performance of this headset is unacceptable. This is my second opportunity with this product. The first one was returned after 3 uses and it stopped working. The second set stopped working after one session. The only conclusion I can draw from product failure is sweat. However, the product cites on the box, 'sweat-resistant.' The second set I was careful to wipe the head set down every ten minutes or so and did not use for more than 45 minutes. Deeply disappointed in this product. I have used sets that were not sweat resistant but lasted years. My hope was to purchase this set because it is the over-the-ear design and sweat resistance.

Plantronics makes quality products and these headphones are no different. They sound really good, not full of bass but still very good. The build quality and comfort are both fantastic. I wouldn't recommend these for running as they are not a secure enough fit for that but they are definitely excellent for any other type of exercise considering the materials used and the design.

This wireless headphones from plantronics are great for my work out , they’re sweat resistant and it last charged for at least 18 hrs. The headphones were easy to pair with my iPhone and works great when making phone calls or when i use Siri. It has a great sound and easy to use. headphones are small for the people that doesn’t like those big headphones on their ears, the noise cancellation works great when making a phone call or listening my music. Inside the box you get a nice mesh pouch to storage your headphones and a usb cable to charge the headphones. The range is up to 33 feet, when you walk away from your phone.

I have tried several pairs of headphones and own a couple different ones that vary in price and construction. I will say these fit the bill for the price. Unboxing was easy as was the setup to my Bluetooth devices. I have it pairing to my phone and my MacBook and it handles both well. I was able to complete it within just a couple minutes. The other nice things was that they arrived with a battery that was charged. The voice told me “Battery Level – High” which was very helpful. The on-ear style is comfortable and even after a couple of hours on a flight, still felt good. I have used them for about 10 hours in total to this point and have not had to charge them yet. If you are looking for extreme bass, these are not the ones for you however the sound is well balanced and the tones are high. Obviously you can adjust the specifics via the tools you have on your devices but from a default perspective, the sound is solid. Overall, I would recommend this pair of on-ear headphones if you are looking to spend about $100 and have a quality pair with very good sound.

I've been using these for about 3 to 5 days, and they sound really good. The fitment can be tricky though, as I have a larger head so they are a little snug. But the comfort is still pretty good with extended use. I don't wear them for more than 30 mins at a time, so I'm okay with them. I'd recommend them.

I was hesitant at first to get these because I've been an ear-bud junky as of late, but these backfit 505 have really impressed for the price point. Out of the box they have a good aesthetic look and feel to them and they do not feel cheap. The headphones rotate for easy and comfortable wearing around your neck when not in use and for easy storage. The ear pads them self are fairly comfortable or at least for what you expect for on the ear headphones.I have worn them for around the house, casual Netflix on the laptop, and for yard work. The battery is awesome and seems to last forever. I have used these headphones for multiple activities for extended periods of time and can barely remember the last time I charged them before the battery died. The sound is impressive but not overwhelmingly rich. They do cancel out a lot of the background noise and are good for enough for wearing in the bed t block out the average snorer :-) Overall, for the price you cannot go wrong with these headphones and you will be satisfied.

(Disclaimer - I received these headphones in exchange for a fair and honest review.) TL;DR - Plantronics BackBeat 505 headphones: for the price, I expected better sound quality and overall fit, especially after my experience with the earbuds that are also part of the BackBeat series. They're not bad headphones, but they're just not great headphones. With the BackBeat 505s, it's not that they're bad headphones. The fit and finish of the set is rather nice, the build quality is impeccable and matches something twice its price thanks to metal reinforcement. Soft touch materials cover the entire pair of headphones, and the subdued graphics are a very nice touch. On-headphone controls are logically laid out and have the right amount of responsiveness. They're comfortable to wear once you figure out your fit - more on that later. Voice quality while taking calls is actually the bright point here - HD calling, skyping, FaceTime, and other services that can take advantage of HD voice sound better than any other headphones I've heard, and many sets of ear buds and hands-free devices that normally clip to your ear. These are also marketed as "sport" headphones. I can definitely see these being used for being active. Once you find the right fit, you can move around and they don't go anywhere. While the fit is a little tight for casual listening, you'll appreciate it while getting another set in on the bench, getting another half mile on the treadmill, or another 30 seconds of thrashing motion while using the battle ropes. In my case, the biggest problem I have with the 505s is the sound quality. I tried them both wired and wireless with my iPhone 6s and my Moto Z Play using different sources for music (Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, Pandora, and SoundCloud). It's not bad sound quality, but for what these headphones cost, it should be better. Vocals are terrific, as they should be for a Plantronics product - after all, they built their brand on being the company that makes call center headsets and hands-free ear clips. The problems are a lack of oomph behind the bass throughout the entire volume range and a harshness in the higher volumes. This isn't isolated to wired or wireless, either; it's drivers that should be better than they are. On fit - I have a large head. While I love cans and generally detest earbuds, I have a problem finding cans that allow me to be more active without moving around on me too much. I have a couple of pairs that fit well from other manufacturers in both the proper orientation and in the "behind the head" style. While the 505s fit wearing the headband behind my head, I couldn't get them to fit properly while wearing them with the headband going over the top of my head. The issue for me is the shape of the headband arcing instead of going straight down. So while competing headsets come down in a direction that allows for a great fit flat against my ears, the 505s come out and the ear pads rest against my ear canal instead of my outer ear. It makes it very uncomfortable. Your head is likely smaller than mine, so these headphones will probably fit you much better than they do me. Other pack-in things include a 3.5 to 3.5 audio cable with no mic, a short micro USB cable, and a mesh carrying/storage bag. The bag is definitely a nice touch, as many headphones in this price range don't include storage of any kind. The short micro USB cable is alright, but you'll want a longer cable for charging. The audio cable is longer than I expected, which is a nice touch, but lacks a mic, a control button, and is "I feel as if I'm going to break this" thin. Since it uses the industry-standard connection, however, picking up a thicker headphone cable isn't a problem. All in all, the Plantronics BackBeat 505 headphones aren't bad. They just don't stand out in a crowded price point with several much better choices. (Note that my recommendation to buy them is for those with smaller heads. For those with larger heads, I'd say these would be a hard pass.)

Within a few weeks of use the headphones started having connection issues. After around a month the headphones completely stopped working. Best Buy did not allow me to get a refund or replacement because the headphones broke right after the short time period that they allow you to get one. Buy knowing the risk that this could happen to you too.

Hi Justin and thank you for sharing your honest review on our BackBeat FIT 505; Though we're sorry to hear about your experience. Please rest assured that we take the quality of our products very seriously, and scenarios like these are very unlikely. The life span of the product depends on the usage but on the vast majority of cases they last for way past their warranty period. To troubleshoot connection issues, please reset the connection between your cell phone and the headset. To do so: https://bit.ly/2OOMfnw. You might also want to reset the Network settings on your phone to rule-out any wireless interference. Testing the headset with a different cell phone model and while it is paired to a single Bluetooth device is also ideal to determine the cause of the issue. If they are no longer charging, then try using a different micro-USB cable along with a 5-volt wall charger. In case you get the same results, please note this model counts with a one-year manufacturer's warranty. The headset falls apart in less than a month. The circular head piece broke in half after about 45 days of purchase. Very flimsy, like a kid's toy. I do not recommend this at all. I did not know I can write a review on this until 7 months after I purchased it. I am so shocked that Best Buy even carries such a poor quality "disposable" head-set.

I tried the Plantronics BackBeat Fit 505 and it was overall a good product. The audio quality was great and the sound was really rich. I tried this product while going out for a run and found this product to be light on my head, convenient without the wire (although it comes with a wire attachment if needed) and it blocked out a lot of the noise on the street. In the gym I typically use the headphones that came with my phone which aren’t wireless, so this was quite an impressive experience. While I was on my run, I was using Spotify to listen to the music and the bluetooth and sound quality were great! The only negitive I found was that it came with a cheap mesh bag that I wouldn’t use if I were to take these headphones with me to the gym.

These headphones are amazing. I've been testing out these headphone for about a week now and have loved every second of it. If you are familiar with operating the standard procedure of bluetooth via your phone, tv, or other bluetooth enabled devices, then getting started with these headphones are pretty much self-explanatory. The sound quality on these headphones are simply amazing. Very clear and pretty loud compared to other bluetooth headsets I've tried over the last few months. Included is a micro USB charging cable as well as an audio cable. A nice mesh carrying case is also included. Music through these headphones is pure bliss. The inner ear cuffs are noted with L and R to help determine which side is which. Volume control, forward and backward, as well as play and pause controls are on the left ear cuff. The right ear cuff has the bluetooth/power button. Battery life of these headphones is outstanding. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a nice headset. Something Plantronics should look into is the instruction manuals, OMG, this was like the worst instruction manual ever, the writing is too small and very light print. However, this was not a deal breaker for me. I would still recommend them to anyone.

The first thing I noticed about these headphones is their build. It's rare to find hardware that can stay so light while also feeling solid in the hand, and the Backbeat FIT headphones definitely do that. Which is very appropriate given that the're very obviously geared towards workout use. It was admittedly a little hard to get used to the idea of wearing them while working out at first. The biggest reason is that the headphones do a surprisingly thorough job of blocking out exterior noise, to the point that a friend of mine who tried them on actually mistook them for ones with active noise cancellation. Thing is, I'm not entirely convinced that's a good thing. Most of the time when I'm working out I try to be actively moving, usually on a bike or a trail of some kind. And in those circumstances I really don't feel that comfortable wearing something that blocks out that much exterior noise. If there's someone coming up alongside me, I want to hear it before it happens. Which is kind of a shame, because apart from that I actually really like these. The battery life is great, the big control buttons on the side are a lot easier to use than anything else I've tried, and it passes audio through to my phone's assistant well enough for me to rely on voice controls. Actual playback quality is somewhat lacking compared to some other headphones I've tried, but it's good enough for listening to when you're out and about. And unlike most over-the-ear headphones, the fit on these is surprisingly firm. I tried my best to shake them free running in place (which truthfully was closer to headbanging at some points) and they stayed right where they were supposed to. Overall I think that these are really ideal for use in a gym where their ability to block out ambient noise becomes more of a feature than a concern. For everything else, as much as I like the comfort and easy to use controls on these, I think I'm going to have to stick with something with a bit more pass-through.

When I'm doing my workouts I love to listen to music as many do. In the past I have used ear buds with varying degrees of success. Some would fall out of my ear as soon as I broke a sweat. Other would stay in but sounded so bad I'd rather hear the sounds of the equipment. The Plantronics headphones are now my go-to listening device when working out. The sound is very good and amazingly they stay put even when I'm on the inversion table! Treadmill, rowing machine, elliptical it doesn't matter; they stay on my ears! Did I mention that the sound is pretty darn good? One big thing is they hold a charge. I can go almost a week before they are less than 50%. That's up to two workouts a day plus warm up and cool down. No complaints on my part!

The headphones connect easily and stay connected well. Wearing glasses with these headphones is not difficult. With some on-ear headphones they push the arm(s) so that they do not sit right on my nose but that is not a problem with these. The two major issues I have is that after awhile the ears are no longer comfortable and there is not enough padding for the part that sits on top of the head. But the battery is great, the sound is good, and if you do not wear them for long periods of time they are not uncomfortable.

These on the ear headphones are great. They are adjustable and fit my rather large cranium. The headband is lightly padded, the speakers are clearly marked left and right for ease of use. The unit paired up really easily with my original Pixel, unlike a number of other headphones and earbuds that I've tried. Also the connection seems really good. I had an audiobook playing and I walked around the house and attached garage doing laundry and never had a drop in signal. The sound is decent. I've had a few different sets that have a static sound playing on audiobooks that shouldn't be there. These were great, no weird noises or artifacts. Except for the fact that I really don't care for have things on or in my ears, I forgot these were on most of the time while doing my chores. I'd gladly recommend them to others.
