These are lightweight, fairly comfortable and pretty good sound. Half of these reviews are expecting Bose or Beats level audio from a $100 headset. Highs and mids sound nice. Lows are good but not great. They dont move when I'm working out and I forget I'm wearing them.

Nice headphones

These headphones are very comfortable. I hate anything on my head but these just work. They were very easy to pair with both my iPad and my husbands Samsung Galaxy tab3. We are retired and spend way too much time on the couch with our tablets. We keep the volume off so that we don’t disturb each other. These headphones have allowed us now to enjoy being able to listen to videos. Of course, we only have one set which IS a bit of a problem. The sound is clear but I’m not much of an audiopihile so I can’t really advise you on pure sound quality. I can say that I’m recommending my husband to get his own set! I’m happy I have these.

Thank you for your honest review on our BackBeat FIT 505. We're deeply sorry to hear about your experience. Please rest assured that we take the quality of our products very seriously, and scenarios like these are very unlikely. If the headphones are no longer pairing to your phone, please make sure you set them in pairing mode manually. To do so: power them on, then hold the power switch in the upmost position for 6-8 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue repeatedly. This means it is now in pairing mode, go to Bluetooth settings on your phone and you should see the PLT device ready to pair. In case you get the same results, we strongly recommend you to contact our Customer Care Team at: 800-985-9815 so they can help you and hopefully fix the issue. Please note this model counts with a one-year manufacturer's warranty. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Super bummed. Bought this and it doesn't have a cord with a microphone like most headsets. I would recommend another set.

Thank you for sharing your honest review on our BackBeat FIT 505. We're sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our product. This model comes with a standard 3.5mm auxiliary cable so you can listen to music if the battery gets discharged. Please note the internal microphones from the headset will only work via Bluetooth connection. Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a third party accessory cable (with built-in mic) will work with the unit. In any case we do thank you for your feedback. We will share your comments to our team for review and consideration in the future when developing new products. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Care Team at: 1-888-363-0726.

OK for the price... comfort level is a big factor.

Sounds good for the price, no problems there. Cup size is somewhat smaller than my comfort zone, and combined with stiffness of the headband limits the amount of time these can be worn without becoming uncomfortable. My personal preference is to stick with earbud headsets, maybe because that is what I am used to, but comfort for long-term usage is a definite factor.
Charges quickly, and battery life goes most of the day listening to music. Phone/microphone is OK, getting a bit of an echo chamber effect using voice commands for my phone.
Overall an OK pair of phones considering the budget price. Probably best for those with smaller head size, including kids and teenagers. If you are on a budget, and prefer headphones to earbuds, these will get you buy.

These headphones were already at a high charge when I removed them from the box. It was extremely easy to pair them with my phone. The control buttons make it easy to control my music without having to grab my phone, and the quality is pretty good, as well. I don't think I can wear them very long without getting uncomfortable with how they feel on my ears, but for short periods of time, they work perfectly.

If you are looking for a pair of over the ear wireless headphones, I would definitely try this model out. Amazing sound for the price and can be used during gym sessions and outdoors. The only thing I really do not like using over the ear headphones in the gym but these are not to bad. As far as comfort goes, it feels nice around the ears but the head part has a foam layer which is comfortable but the bar on the top is uncomfortable.
It does come with a carrying bag and all the cords to get charged immediately. Getting it set up was easy and straightforward. I would recommend this because it produces sound similar to high end over the ear wireless headphones at an affordable price.

Just What I Needed!

The Plantronics - Backbeat FIT 505 Wireless On-Ear Headphones are a big step up for me compared to my previous wireless headphones. I was a bit unsure of the smaller on-ear size as opposed to larger over-the-ear offerings. However, once I got used to it (mere minutes), I found them very comfortable.
The phones offer a good overall sound. I could hear very good separation of instruments with music and exceptionally clear voice tones with good background sounds with movies. My primary use is for watching videos and they’re great for that. For music, the vocals may come across too strong - although, personally, I appreciate that a lot.
The controls worked as expected and Siri integration was seamless.
My only wish is that they were foldable.
For me, the Backbeat FIT 505 headphones are just what I needed.

Very Comfortable

I haven't used a pair of on-ear headphones since I got the earpods with my first iPod. I've had over the ear headphones before that were heavy and dragged a heavy coiled cord behind it. When I go out for a walk, I wear my Apple AirPods but when I'm at home, after a while they get uncomfortable. These Plantronics BackBeat Fit 505's are very light, soft on the ears and since they are Bluetooth, no heavy cord. The sound quality is great and the controls are easy to reach. It say that the battery lasts 18 hours but I haven't used them that long but even if they run out of power, they should still be able to be used with the 1/8" plug/cable they included. They also included a mesh carrying pouch with a draw string. There is an app that works with the headphones but all it allows you to do is locate the headphones if you misplace them by sending a very loud tone through them. The headphone is sweat resistant in case you wear it for an extended period of time or while working out. Unlike other Bluetooth earbuds I own, the app doesn't let you shape the sound (like concert hall, studio, etc). If the app did that, I would have given it 5 stars. All in all a very nice pair of headphone for all around use.

Overall they are great. Sound and pairing perfect. Battery awesome, but, the plastic material around the head must've been too thin than bend and now they are almost useless.
I had them less than a year and now they are no longer tight on the head.
A shame. I wont buy another pair because these are NOT por active/sports, how ever, if you plan to carefully take them on and off you will be safe and happy,

Fairly average headphones

I wasn't really that impressed with these headphones. At least for the Wireless aspect. I think they could definitely be made better by the inclusion of an app that adds the ability to control the tone like so many other competitors.
The sound over wireless is pretty bland. It just seems over driven with mid's and high's. There's next to no bass response either, even in intense bass centered music. Again, a app based tone control could have done wonders here.
Connecting them with the included cable does at least bring about some better sound. I have an LG V30+ and it has a B&O Quad Hi-Fi Dac in it when connected via 3.5mm. This did help the audio quality, but again, it was nothing that blew me away.
The fit, well I'm not entirely certain if these will stay attached to your noggin with brisk and sudden movements, such as running, jogging or gym exercises, but the do offer a tight fit. Due to my big old melon head, it had me a bit worried that I was going to damage the band because they stretched out a lot. There does appear to be some give so I will give it that.
If you're looking at some lower priced headphones of the wireless variety, I'd look around at some other competitors in the same price range.

Compact over the ear design....

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
These headphones have a very compact over the ear design and for my head, they simply were not comfortable to wear. My head is average, but these were very snug and I am not able to wear them for very long. I also can't wear them around my neck when they are not being used. The design seems like it will hold up pretty well, but I wouldn't expect these to last for years and years. Battery life was great and I managed to get right around the 18 hours that they advertise. Also, they advertise that they can stay unused for up to 6 months and still hold a charge. They are pretty light weight, but just snug so you know that they are there. Sound wise they were decent, they blocked out outside noise pretty well and have some decent bass. If you install the Plantronics Hub app, you can get a battery status for them as well. That is a nice feature. They come with a cheap cloth carrying case, which does the job. Pairing with my phone was a breeze and also with my laptop, I didn't encounter any problems there. They seem to have good range too, I didn't start to hear the sound break up till around the 30 foot mark. Phone calls were clear and they other party heard me just fine, but my testing conditions were in a relative quite environment, I was not able to test in a noisy location.

Handles Sweat Well

My father has a really high metabolism and sweats a ton which is why he doesn't like wearing earphones/headphones fearing that they'll break from the amount of sweat that drenches the earphones/headphones.
These Backbeat FIT 505s to my surprise hold up well against the most intense sweating! They're comfortable enough for a 30 minute run or a 1-2 hour workout, but not for super long usage.
They do the job, and at $100 they're quite affordable for its sound and durability.

These are fairly decent. The base isn’t booming, highs are fairly clear, and the mids are clean, but not really anything amazing or unique about them. They are just good headphones at the price point. Unfortunately, comfort is an issue. These aren’t as comfortable as some other over-ear headphones I’ve used, wired or wireless. For something in a gym bag, for a 45min workout on the treadmill, I’m sure these will work great. If you want something to enjoy the subtleties of classical music, or wear while chipping away at the workday grind, I’d recommend spending a few bucks more for something that you’ll be completely satisfied having on your head for several hours.

I got these for my teenage son to replace his Skull Candy on-ear headphones. Here's a review from him: "FIt is good, they don't move around or fall off. The sound is very clear and the bass is great, definitely better than my old headphones". Price is good, water resistant, and 18 hours of play time. Obviously not up to par with my Bose QC35's, but for the price and quality they are nice headphones!

First Disappointing Plantronics Product Ever
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I’ve tried out four different wireless earbuds and headphones over the last year. Most were pretty good and fit in their price point appropriately. I previously reviewed the Plantronics 305 earbuds and found them to be quite good, so I expected these to be of similar quality. I have used other Plantronics headsets in call center environments also and was always impressed with the quality. But with these, I was disappointed.
First the good:
- Small and lightweight
- Ships with a full charge
- Easy to operate, good control placement
- Includes 3.5mm cable to use direct wired.
But these are headphones intended to be used to listen to music, so the real issue here is the sound.
The sound quality is well below average. So far below average that I’ll never know what the battery life is like. After 30 minutes of testing with different music styles I just couldn’t stand them any longer! I tried different equalizations and they still are just horrible. There is virtually no low end produced by these headphones at all. Everything sounds like an AM radio in a steel box.
Ambient sounds pass through like you have nothing on. I could hear everything around me almost better than the music from the headphones themselves.

Decent sound (no unnecessary booming bass), might fit better on a slightly smaller head, excellent battery life, BUT, I just discovered I can’t use them while they’re charging!!! My 10-year-old Rocketfish could, and they cost half as much as the Plantronics! Recommended but just barely.....
