When the great nature photographer was asked to join arguments about whether a UV filter over a lens would degrade the the picture too much he would ask something like "Which takes a better picture - a lens with a UV filter that has been cleaned with a sweaty t-shirt, or a scratched lens?" I give this paraphrase to make a point. If I need the absolute highest detail in my photos I take the filter off, but otherwise it is there to protect the lens and help the photo out just a touch. This one does that for me just fine. It degrades the picture sharpnes a tiny bit, but is a great way to protect the lens.

A good UV filter is a double investment. It can enhance your photos -- and equally important, it can protect your lens from disaster. I had such a disaster and all that saved my lens was the UV filter mounted to the front -- the filter gave its life but the lens was saved. This is a Best Buy house brand -- as far as I can tell -- but represents good value. I recommend it!

I purchased a new lens, but forgot to get a uv filter for it. This filter fit the lens and appears to work as it is designed to. The price was competitive.

A good filter but a bit pricey. Compared to cheaper filters i've purchased from other sources i can't say i see a difference. Nice filter but there are cheaper alternatives.

These filters are good enough if you’re just starting out. However, it is import to have a filter on to protect your lens from getting any unnecessary nicks and scratches. These filters will help you with that.

Fits perfect on Nikon J1. Does exactly what it needs to. Can even fit a lens cap over top of it. I am pleased with this purchase

Helpful in taking pics in bright sun however you must have your own knowledge of item and purpose. No real instructions

Only negative is that the lens cap will not fit when the filter is attached.. It unscrews easily, but I wanted to keep it on all the time to protect the camera lens.

Got it for my rf 35 1.8 and it does the job, it has a little reflection problem when shooting bright objects but it’s not to bad for the price

It's good for protecting your lens, however the glass isn't the best quality. So expect your photos to decrease in quality as well.

Purchased the Nikon D5500 and it was recommended to purchase this in order to protect the lense. Install was easy and seems to have been effective so far.

The Filter is perfect for cutting some of the harshness while shooting in direct sunlight here in Florida. Good clarity too.

This filter works as intended. The only con I have noticed is that it tends to get smudged easily and does not come clean very easily.

For a mid range filter this one is good as it delivers clarity with little reduction in the visual acuity of the subject matter. I recommend it.

I love to have a filter for the sake of protection. I dropped a lense before and the filter shattered, but my lense was spared.
