I have a mid 2012 non-retina macbook pro who's hard disk drive was over half full. The mac took forever to boot up, load apps, and transfer data so I thought Id throw in an ssd to improve performance. This ssd fit perfectly in my mac and runs OS X Yosemite flawlessly. I am getting read speeds of around 300 mb/s and write of just over 400 mb/s. Apps load faster then ever before and this ssd really breathed new life into a 3 year old computer. I am also seeing major improvements in battery life because the ssd draws less power than my old hard disk drive. Very satisfied for the money and a good investment into a still wonderful macbook.

This SSD is just what my laptop needed. What it lacks in storage space, it greatly makes up for in speed. It's definitely not the fastest SSD around, but it's still a huge improvement in speed and reliability over my older hard drive. Windows boots fresh faster than it used to wake up from sleep, and applications load nearly instantly. Solid state is a must-have upgrade unless you need a ton of storage.

This is a good and cheap ssd that works beautifully as an os drive for faster booting. I have it in my laptop, and Windows runs quick. It's relatively small though, so if you're looking for large storage, go with a traditional drive. Also, this is to small a drive for something like a ps4. Go with at least a tb there.

I usually purchase another brand, but in a pinch I chose what was available locally, and at a good price. With this SSD, I turned an 8 year old laptop into something that could run Windows 10. Not only did it run Windows 10, but much, much, faster than it was running Windows XP. I didn't do any speed benchmarks, but when this old of a laptop can run Windows 10, and for the low price I got it for, you know you have something good. I can't speak to the durability or longevity of the drive, but so far I have had no problems.

This is excellent drive for the good price. It boots up so much faster than a regular hard drive. If you don't need a lot of storage capacity, this is what you should get.

I got two of these, one for my laptop and one for my desktop. Since I set them up, they have blended seamlessly into the background without any issues at all. My boot time into windows 10 has dropped to mere seconds from the POST screen. I got the 128 GB model, which is way too small for sustained usage in todays world, so i kept my old mechanical drives as data drives. On my windows box, I make sure that I put all programs and other big sets of files onto the old mechanical drive. This setup has worked flawlessly. The only reason i don't give it 5 stars is because the SSD itself isn't particularly fast compared to SSD's of similar sizes. It definitely works well for the average consumer, however this is definitely not the SSD for someone looking for absolute maximum performance.

I purchased this SSD for an older Apple MacBook, hoping to speed the machine up a little. It has made the laptop a lot faster. This SSD does not have the highest transfer rates out there, but for the price you can not go wrong. I would recommend this SSD to anyone that is looking to add a little more speed to an older computer.

SSD are by nature faster than hard drives and more robust, less chance of crashing. Good value for the price.

Purchased to replace dead hard dive in older Windows 7/intel Core 2 desktop and was very happy with both ease of installation (be sure to get a 3.5" to 2.5" drive adapter kit, this doesn't come with one) and the performance. Simply used my original ACER re-install discs and after installing a number of Microsoft updates,Windows now boots to the desktop in under 30 seconds.

I rebuilt my PC and decided to put a SSD for the OS. This drive has performed perfectly. Very quiet and extremely fast I do have other drives for data and backup. Would recommend this to anyone. I would not let it "flop" around as other forums have suggested. Get an adapter or velcro it in place

For the price, this is one of the best purchases I have made. It replaced the regular hard drive in my laptop with this one and laptop is now flying. It can reboot in 10 seconds where as it use to take 5 minutes previously. The say Samsung is the best, but I never heard anything bad about PNY.

Excellent Affordable upgrade!!! If you dont have a SSD in your laptop already, this product is a great inexpensive beginner level upgrade! My laptop is 5 years old and after installing this hard drive, Its almost like using a brand new laptop now!

I have purchased two of these and used them to do fresh installs of windows 7 on older laptops that ran very slow due to poor level cpu's. These SSD's help to speed up the windows environment and save on battery life.

I bought this SSD on sale and the performance is outstanding for the money. My computer boots up in less than 30 seconds from a cold boot, hibernate mode is about 5 seconds.

Very much like the hard drive purchased. I bought the smaller memory to save a little and for us we still have plenty to work with. Computer works fast and drive is reliable.

Purchased SSD to replace failing hard drive in Desktop. Paired it with a traditional 2 TB hard drive (for data). Noticeable difference in start-up and shut down. Programs start very quickly. Excellent value for the price/performance. While it did not matter to me, there was no useful instructions enclosed and no software utility to assist in configuring/optimizing the SSD. So, you have to know what you are doing to install the drive, either transfer or install the software, to configure your OS to properly use the SSD, and finally to optimize the SSD for performance and longevity.

No complains here. This ssd was a welcome upgrade for my 2010 mac mini. This was the push that the mini needed so I didn't have to buy a newer model.

Good price when I purchased it (got 5 actually) Speed is great, still running months later, have these in several machines, would purchase again.

Well, this is apart of an upgrade from vista to W8.1. Have to say, it's an entirely new machine, even only holding 2Gb of DDR2 Ram. Allocate a bit of the SSD and seriously this machine opens up in like 5 seconds flat. Like puttin' ethanol in a '73 Pinto.
