This is a great large SSD for the money. The only reason I give it a four instead of five stars is it doesn't come with any data transfer software like the Samsung.

It is an older generation Mac with Sata II (3 gb/sec) so this is a perfect data drive to complement the other ssd (OS drive).

Using in an old Mac mini with only sata II.
Low cost, and lower speed than Samsung, but since its being used in sata II, doesn't matter.

Been doing hardware for over 25 years. This was the WORST drive I've ever had for getting any OS up and running.

Great drive - questionable data migration software

I replaced a smaller SSD with this drive. The migration software supplied with the other drive was far superior to this one. Tried it twice - failed both times. Had to make a recovery USB drive and then a complete backup. Then had to "restore" to the PNY drive. Again - great drive; no complaints with size, price, performance but they should contract with a different data migration company for software.

I've had my existing Dell laptop for several years, and anytime the system was running slow - the memory, processor & network were always fine - it was the hard disk that was maxed out. I decided to try this solid state drive to give my laptop new life. The improvement has been tremendous. It's like I have a brand new laptop again, and should be good for a few more years. I have been using the new drive now for a couple months on my work laptop and couldn't be happier with my decision to make this purchase.

Cheaper Drive But Works - Acronis, Not So Much

I put this PNY SSD in a new Asus M32CD desktop replacing the 1TB regular hard drive, and went from 120s write & read speeds to 480s. Windows 10 boots up in seconds now. If you wish to monitor the drive by software be aware PNY has no app for that. It comes with a license for Acronis True Image drive copying software, which failed repeatedly to work for me. It would copy fine but leave the new drive in a funky unbootable state. I would up using my EZ Gig IV app with no issues.

Installed in my wife's Samsung Laptop, works great. Samsung Tech support said it couldn't be done, they only supported the M2 64GB card. I had to completely remove the bottom cover to gain access to the hard drive. Installed beautifully and is now running Windows 10.

I was looking for a 1TB SSD to install into my Macbook Pro. I was slightly reluctant to cut the 40GB on this one, but all in all it was totally worth it. The speed improvement alone is amazing, twice, if not three times as fast than the old HDD I replaced. Install was a breeze with zero issues whatsoever. I don't worry about storage anymore, and am pleased with how fast programs such as Adobe Photoshop load and with zero lag. If you are on the fence then I hope this review pushes you into purchasing. You won't regret it.
