I've got no complaints with this SSD, particularly when it's on sale. SATA may be a little old these days, and I'd never use it as a boot drive by choice, but I have noticed that it is very good at making older laptops at least usable. I think I've bought three of these things by now, all for laptops being used by family and friends. The sudden speed increase makes them happy, and nobody ends up complaining about the $30 price tag in the process.
While you could get an SSD from eBay for cheaper, those are all sketchy off-brands; so I think this is one of the best ones I've found so far for a balance between between "cheap" and "If this breaks, I could get it warrantied easily". So, I'd recommend it for sure if you're sticking this in a computer you care about.

Easily replaced my cheap lenovo hard drive to SSD and it is now running 10 times faster. I originally ordered this from amazon and cancelled as it didn't arrive at the time expected, ordered here and got it in a couple of days as promised

I used this to upgrade a laptop that is only a year old. The performance increase is amazing! It was easy to install and the software I used to clone the original HD was easy to use. The new SSD works EXACTLY like the original HD except for being about SIX times Faster!

Second purchase of the PNY SSD for this 2011 ASUS I5. The older SSD has lasted and still available for use. However, this model is lighter and the performance is on par with this year of computer. This cost was less which was another factor and seems to be just as good as the higher priced models. If you are on a budget this is one to go with

Bought 2 of these drives to replace in a laptop and Desktop computer to help speed things up. This makes BOTh a bit faster as they don't have the lengthy read times that the regular hard drives did. I'm happy with both of them and how they are working. At less than $30 dollars a piece this makes a reasonably priced option to speed up older computers. I'm skilled in replacing hard drives so for me it was an EASY job with a Sabrent Hard disk Drive cloning machine! For those that aren't well it may be harder for them.

This SSD is outstanding. Great price, easy to install. I put it in an 8 year old laptop and wanted to erase everything and start over. Could not believe how fast it installed and the laptop is better than new.

I bought this particular drive because I was told if you buy a PNY you get Acronis True Image free......that's not the case...PNY customer support told me "not with this model". Anyways, I downloaded Macrium Reflect free version and it worked flawlessly to clone my old drive. Super simple. Hook up new drive to PC via usb dock, usb dongle or sata on motherboard, then clone old drive to new drive, then remove old drive and replace with new drive. Done. My biggest issue was getting windows to see the new drive, in this day and age you would think Windows 10 would just automatically assign it a drive letter but it doesn't, you have to go into disk management and actually tell it to do that.

This 500GB ssd drive is the 2nd PNY SSD drive that I purchased & own from Best Buy. My satisfaction with the 1st one motivated me to buy my 2nd one... along with the great sales price! It's compact, fast, reliable & easy to install. No more waiting 5-15 minutes for my pc to boot up, now it takes just seconds! Sweet! I highly recommend!

Good price, speed is okay. I would say, PNY is reliable because I must buy over mix of 10 PNY SSD.
The older model comes with clone software and new ones doesnt. The larger capacity seems faster in hard drive benchmark, when compare to 120Gb.

This PNY replaces a Lexar SSD NS100 which conked out in 1.5 years. Installation was easy as was restoration of the original programs and files. Much thanks to Windows 11.

So far so good. I had an old 2012 laptop that kept encountering a critical error and restarting. Replacing the HDD with this SSD seems to have got it functional again. I also found another stick of RAM I could swap in, bringing it from 6GB to 8GB, and I updated the BIOS. I was even able to upgrade to Windows 10 even after knowing this computer failed to upgrade from 7 to 10 years ago when they offered the initial upgrade. Resource-heavy tasks that used to take a long time and risk a crash now happen quick. The boot up and shut down times are almost instantaneous.

It's not a fancy SSD.
No 3D NAND, no DRAM Cache, but it does have 64 layers of TLC. However, it lacks more advanced functionalities you'd find on the Crucial or Samsung counterparts on the market. So if you want a very GOOD 2.5" SSD, you're gonna have to go for one of those two.
But if you need something cheap to store your steam games, ultra high-def videos, or something just to slap in a cheap laptop, this will do it just fine.
The read speeds are pretty consistent, getting over the 500MB/s mark pretty consistently for both short and long transfers. Write speeds are, however, where this drive constantly fell short. But that's expected with a DRAM cache, and it was still faster than most spinning drives at around 150MB/s.
This drive is being used in a laptop with an M.2 Gen3 NVME boot drive, and this was added as secondary storage. Games that normally would have issues reading on a hard drive such as GTA 5, Gmod, etc seem to load exceptionally quick in this configuration.

I've had this PNY SSD in daily use for approximately two years. Its been 100 percent reliable and it certainly breathed new life into an older AMD Athlon-based tower PC that I use for coding. No doubt you can get much bigger capacity now for the same money over what I purchased years ago. I recommend the PNY brand just based on the reliability I've seen. Be sure to TRIM the SSD periodically to balance wear. Other than that the device just WORKS.

Installed by the Geek Squad to replace a faulty hard drive. Surprisingly great price which is why I went with it. And so far so good. Plenty of space and doing what it's supposed to.
