Tons of room and read speed is excellent (write speed seems a little slower than I was expecting). No compatibility problems with various utilities I use (unlike I've seen with Sandisk units). Only thing that I don't like is that the retractable sleeve is a bit annoying. There's nothing to hold it in place (no click or anything) so sometimes I don't notice it's not pulled back all the way and have connectivity issues. It's great for what it is, just wish the design was a little better.

This flashdrive was purchased to replace another pny 256 gb flashdrive. The old one had a sliding cover that became very loose and flimsy and seemed like it would soon break. This one is more sturdy and a bit faster once plugged in to the usb 3.0 port. Definitely worth spending as bit more money on it it than the more poorly constructed older pny 256 gb version.

I am using this usb drive on my work laptop which I am unsure if it has usb 3.0 ports. I am a bit underwhelmed with the speed. Reads are ok but writes are awefully slow. This is noticeable as I have to wait for some write operations

Fast and large storage capacity. Same size as my ssd so I use it to store extra files. Works great.

Device that performs exceptionally well for my needs. Backed up my MacBook Pro SSD in a few minutes. I used the 3.0 USB port No errors and its all there. I was afraid I'd run out of space, but to the contrary I still had more available. I plan to purchase another so I can rotate full image backups.

I am the media guy at a large church. This is my go to drive for carrying a video file to the projectors, music files to the choir room or youth building, or schematics of the sound system. Perfection!

I wanted a USB to store all my data. The 256GB is large enough to store all my active data. I bought a 64gb size to do sneaker net data transfers. No problems with the USB, I am also using it on a USB 2.0 computer and it works great.

Good solution to problem of backing up older computer

I bought this flash drive to make a backup clone of my 250GB SSD in my 2012 MacBook Pro. The drive shows very fast speeds via USB 3.0 during file transfer but when I tried to boot from it, it took over 10 MINUTES (yes TEN minutes) which normally takes 15 seconds booting from internal SSD. I've done this before with a SanDisk Ultra 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive with all else being equal and that flash drive will boot in about 75 seconds. The PNY flash drive clearly has some issues. Ran Disk Utility to make sure file structure was good and it passed. If you're just using it to transfer files, it's pretty quick. But I returned it and bought the 256GB SanDisk. Has potential but mine did not work for my needs and might have had a defect.

So much storage in such a small device. I remember when HDDs in PCs didn't have this much capacity. Ordering was easy and shipping was very speedy. Buy one! Or two.

For USB 3.0 this drive is slow as a dog. My apologies to dogs. It may be cheap, but performance is atrocious. I recommend The SanDisk Ultra 3.0 flash drive over this any day of the week. Not even worth it when highly discounted.
