Now with the current bitcoin gpu market in mind. The price for this isnt terrible. If you plan on using this for gaming its definitely pretty descent. I would avoid VR altogether though. I've managed to get it working for most games but it isnt always a enjoyable experience and most VR games have to be run at low graphics. Which for a VR headset can be straining on the eyes. ARK Survival runs at rough 60fps on medium settings, however there are enough frame drops to make it worth turning down textures even more. VR Chat in VR runs well with your own independent avatar, but the moment you join up with other people the gpu gets overwhelmed and cant handle the models. Rainbow Six Siege is being run at high graphics and getting very good frames with no drops. Most benchmarks come out with this card doing pretty well however in game itself it just doesnt run the same as the benchmarks. Now if anyone is curious I am running a ryzen 5 1600, Solid State Drive and disk drive. As well as 16GB DDR4. Price is descent on it, however I will be exchanging mine for a gtx 1070 8GB. As far as VR goes this does not handle it well at all, and I am very disappointed. I did not expect to run it, so I wasn't surprised in the end. One of my previous cards was a GTX 650 Ti, that thing was even capable of running super hot VR, what a joke... (No really, it did a good job at it too) Vr definitely needs more VRAM, the 3GB just doesnt cut it. GTX 1070 8GB has about 50% more overall power than this card and is definitely worth looking into. Combine that 8GB of VRAM and your looking at a very good card. The 6GB version of the GTX 1060 is not really worth looking at as the card itself cant make full use of the 6GB. Otherwise, the cards build quality is very good.It runs most of my games on high with solid frames - Rocket League, Smite, Overwatch, Civ 6, Final Fantasy 14, RainbowSix Siege. However games such as PUBG, Ark, VR Chat, and Battlefield 1 and some other triple A titles are not going to be run on high period. You'll probably be looking at medium on these ones with some custom changes. Overclocking this card doesn't really make a big difference as in some other cards. I'd recommend this card to someone who is looking to get into PC gaming but doesn't want to spend a lot. For someone who plays mostly all PC games, check out the GTX 1070 or 1080. GTX 1070 can handle most games today, 1080 is sorta future proof for now. Overall, its got good build quality. Runs most games on high with good frames. Would not recommend for VR, regardless of that VR ready symbol on the front, it doesn't make for a optimal VR experience. Descent cooling on it, keeps up with what is thrown at it. GOOD BUDGET CARD, if you can spend the little more just go for the GTX 1070, its worth it.

I bought this back in june 2017 for $219.99 before tax. I could have gotten the full 6gb version back then for only 20 dollars more($239.99). Still kicking myself on that one. I play on linux and finally got it working with elite dangerous recently. It can gobble up the vram even with high fps. 45-100% usage of the card at 95% potential vram usage. I could have used more vram in my circumstances. I'm hopeing best buy eventually does an upgrade policy for Video cards. It would be a very nice options. Especially with the card prices we have today. The only downside to the card I've seen is the default fan curve logic doesn't go up to 100% on load and the card can get up to 75C tempuratures with stock fan curve. This can be partially resolved by going into nvidias config program, thermal settings, clicking, 'Enable GPU Fan Settings', and putting it to 100% and hitting apply while playing. This can probably be resolved with things like msi afterburner for windows users(or dual booters?!). But as a pure linux user it's a bit annoying. I don't think it's listed as linux compatible but it would nice if there was a nice fan curve software out there for linux. With the fan up to 100% it doesn't get above 55C at full load. Probably closer to 52C. Idles at as low as 32-36C in my system. Besides that is seems to be a very good card. I was worried PNY might be a cheaper brand but the card physically is very nice and not cheap feelng at all. Highly recommended. But if the 6gb is on sale for 239.99 I recommend that over the 3gb model. Still mad I bought the 3gb version when I need something for longer term use.

So, I bought this card for the "sweet gaming" and have had it for nearly a year and it does its job admirably, however it recently started making a funny noise. Now, I have been building custom computers for most of my life so I recognized the sound in an instant, Fan Bearings. I pulled the side off my case and you know what I saw, one of the fans was spinning very slowly and screaming at me because it's bearing was trashed. Okay so normally I would just replace the fan no problem but this card uses a type of fan that I can neither re-grease myself nor replace myself because they are unavailable in the market. Yes many similar sized fans are available for cheap but not with the proper mounting holes. So, the TLDR on this card is it works, well, but if you need to do any repairs your screwed and it might wear out faster than its supposed to.

Lets get straight to why only 4* if I'm saying in caps Great Card. Well performance wise yes this card is AMAZING AND GREAT all the way around for a 1060, but when i plugged it in i didn't know it had red and white lights on the fan, that for some reason with PNY you can't control to stay red nor white. PNY thinks it's funny i guess to troll color themed enthusiast. When it idles the FAN lights stay White and when its in game mode i guess you wanna call it it goes red. Well my color theme is black and red with red lighting and now i have a horrid sight of white light shining onto my power shroud and SSD mounted onto of power shroud. so that's why i gave this card 4*. i will be upgrading again soon to a 1070 to get this eye sore out of my case. If my problem doesn't bother you then get this card! GREAT CARD!!! Thank you for your time!!!

Better than my GTX 970 SSC ATX 4GB

I bought this on impulse when I was at the local store a few days ago. I was curious to see how it would perform compared to my three year old EVGA GTX 970 SSC ATX 4GB card. Everthing is about 15 to 20% better in benchmarks using Unigine Heaven Free and Fire Strike from 3DMark. Now I have a new card for my DD3 System and a good backup card (GTX 970). I believe anyone with a good DDR3 system with an i5 or i7 4 Core or better CPU that fits their 1150 socket will be surprised at how well and little power this uses. I will report back after I have used the card for several months. Note: My two favorite video card OEM/s are EVGA and PNY. I think I found a great deal at $250.00 for this XLR8 GTX 1060 OC 3GB video card.

Definitely an upgrade from his gtx 760 ssc. A great change in game quality and no lag in other games that actually had lag on the 760. Can turn games to ultra Most high med low. Good power. Does cause screen tearing on a 60z on minimal games. But if you are out to get a new monitor 75 to 120 should be fine. Most games seems to cap around 60hz anyways. I purchased a 144hz. May never get that high with the 3gb model but just to be over the 61 hz minimal tear for max experience. All in all everything is nice about this GPU.

My computer was shutting down because of the heat generated and lack of cooling of my old video card. The old one my have even been starting to fail. The omputer's and new video card still run pretty high, but I am starting to think that the cooling substance between the processors and motherboard needs replacing due to the age. One day I'll get brave enough to take it all down that far and either confirm that...or not. BUT, the new card is still great ESPECIALLY for that price!!!

I bought this to give my PC the ability to handle an Oculus Rift. It does the job well for the price, however If I had the money I would have chosen a higher end model card. The oculus rift runs well on this card at low to medium video settings, however it struggles at high quality video within the VR environment. If you can afford to spend a bit more I would say do it, if not you will be satisfied with the overall performance of this one.

I was originally going to get the 1050 Ti 4gb because it has more vram, but I decided that I would go for the 1060 because it's a lot more powerful and I haven't run into any problens regarding the 3gb of vram on this. It's great for the games I play and even with my pentium g3250 processor, I can run max settings and 100+ fps all the time on CS:GO, DOOM, GTA V, Skyrim: Elder Scrolls, Rocket League, and more. I would recommend this product :).

Purchased for use with Dell UHD 4K 19 Inch monitor. Resolution, color reproduction, motion and overall speed are outstanding. Easy installation for anyone who has put in a computer card (follow simple included instructions). Considered far more expensive options, but I don't see how they could be better. I do semi-pro photography, word processing, web browsing, minor gaming and videos. Running Windows 7 on a Dell XPS desktop purchased in 2015. DisplayPort cable.

My older ATI Radeon video card was surrendering the ghost, running hot and the fan ws about to spin the blades off. I purchased the NVIDIA GeForce as it seemed like it was one of the best cards for the price that would still be compatible with my aging machine. It was a great decision! I think it's going to be just the thing to give me another year (hopefully two) before I need to purchase a replacement.

I purchased this when graphics card's were on high demand and paid almost double the cost but the graphics and game performance made it worth it. I play Counter Strike, battlefield, and call of duty without any problems, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting 6gb instead of 3 to keep up with the newer games

Although the card is a few generations back, it works well with games that aren't graphically demanding by today's standards. If you're in need of an affordable video card replacement for a 3-5 year-old PC, it's a good choice. That said, it'll easily be out performed by 1070 or 1080 series, so don't think about installing it in a new PC because it could slow the system down.

I purchased this card in order to play PUBG. It can do it on "mediuim" PUBG graphics setting but the video card lights turn red (gets hot) during intense graphics gameplay. Honestly, we wanted at last a 1070 card but got too expensive. It's a decent card but if you want intense video gameplay, you really want to move to at least a 1070 as to not have any overheating issues.

I upgraded from a 660 Ti that crashed on me over the weekend. I had to buy something local, and ended up going with the GTX 1060. I was looking at the GTX 1080 online and there just was not any online retailer with a reasonable price. Inflation has taken over online shopping for video cards! I was happy to find the last 1060 at best buy with the current market value price! Thank you!

I was looking for a really good graphics card around $200 and this was the best card I found for the price. It's handled Skyrim with mods and Fallout 4 with mods like a champ. Love the NVIDIA software that optimizes game play. It's not the most powerful graphics card out there, but it does a great job with everything I've thrown at it so far. Also VR ready when I scrape together the money for Occulus.

After reading numerous reviews and researcing various makes/models of PCIe gaming cards I decided that this one would be decent. It has, in fact, been better than I expected. Performance has been stellar, super easy to install, and the addional ports make plugging into various monitor connection types a breeze. Added bonus is how remarkably quiet the unit is.

This video card was a quick fix honestly for me until I could save more for a larger card. But, for a quick remedy, which I have 3 kids and need quick, this does the trick! The quality allowed for 1080p and 2070p without issue. 4k is where this card falls short, but again, it’s a quick fix or beginner card

I bought this version because the 6 gigabyte version was available. I was concerned that it wouldn't be able to handle some games. I am happy to report that this card is clearly better than my GTX 770 in rendering textures, shadows and frame rates at maximum settings. While I would still have preferred the card with more memory, I have happy with my purchase.

This is a great card and luckily got it before prices went up. It works well with games such as DOOM, WoW, Oblivion and many others! Great FPS within all of those games. I do wish I had gotten the 1080, but that's just me wanting to eek out more performance. If you're on a budget and need to pick up a great card I suggest you get this one.
