Customers consistently note the impressive read speeds of the XLR8 CS3040 2TB Internal SSD, with many praising its performance. However, a significant number of users found the included heatsink to be too large for their intended applications, requiring replacement or removal. This incompatibility issue is a recurring concern among customers. The product's speed is a major selling point, but potential buyers should carefully consider the heatsink's dimensions.

Using them for game and program loading on a Asus X570-P mobo and 5800x. Been great so far, but had to replace the heatsink on the one below the graphics card. ~20% better performance (not sure I really see the difference in real world use), but bought for the TBW and warranty. Very impressed for the price and performance.

I got the version with the heatsink which isn't compatible with my motherboard, so I just removed it and used the built in one. Works as intended.
Specs are getting dated as PCIe Gen 5 is becoming more popular.

Works great with the PS5. Not worried about the speed, just need something to store more games. The heatsink is too big to put the cover back on. If you are worried about it, then get the one without the heatsink and get your own.
Make sure your PlayStation is up to date before adding the new memory or it might not recognize the slot for additional memorh

I bought this SSD for my PS5, plus side, it fits, and works very nicely. Minus Side, the heat sink is large, it will not allow the expansion cover plate to be put back into place. You will have to replace the heat sink with a smaller one. I only recommend you do so IF you are already experienced in replacing heat sinks and so on.

Meets specs given by Sony. No problems installing at all. Video that Sony posted is excellent for installation reference. Took Heatsinc off this model and bought another that fit with cover back on. Has been working great so far.

As others mentioned. Cover for ps5 will not fit due to large heat sink, but there's nothing to worry about. After a month. No issues so far and performs amazing and the price can't be beat

Great memory expansion but big heat sink for PS5.

Bear in mind that this is a day one review. The chip is working great, the PS five is reading it's read speed around 5600. I've moved my PS4 games that are loaded on the PS five over to it. Unfortunately the heat sink that came with it was too big. I couldn't put the cover for the expansion slot back over it like the directions tell me to from Sony. I'm not losing any sleep over that because the cover for the PS five itself can still go on and you are able to screw down the memory in the slot. That's totally on me so I'm still giving us a five star review based so far on the performance and everything.

Pros - Works great. 5600MB/s sequential read speed (Sony recommends 5500 minimum).
Cons - Heatsink is too tall for PS5 slot. Can’t replace the small SSD cover but that’s no big deal because the large white bottom cover of the PS5 can be put back on without any issue.
Honorable mention - By not replacing the small SSD cover, the SSD itself runs at approximately 8°C cooler with the cover off.
The drive is fast and fully recommended. Best deal on a 2TB right now at this speed.

PS5 SAYS ITS NOT A COMPATIBLE SSD
I bought it based of the specs stated and what Sony requires but not compatible.
