I recently bought this game for my brothers girlfriend, and she always was the one that was sorta into pokemon. If it was in tv then she would watch it, but she wouldnt be waiting to watch. Basically if it was on, she would watch it. But anyways, she absolutely loves it. Very great game and very satisfied with the game!

Let's Go Pikachu is a refreshing return back to the place that started it all! Being able to see the Pokemon in the wild is a welcome addition that hopefully continues in future Pokemon games. While it is slightly annoying to have to play with motion controls, it becomes easy once you get used to it.

Purchased this as a Christmas Gift for someone who had never played the Pokemon Games growing up. The recipient had never shown interest in any of the previous Pokemon Games but has found great enjoyment in playing Lets Go: Pikachu! Originally purchased an Xbox One X as a Christmas Gift for recipient but in less than 24 hours wanted to trade it in for the Nintendo Switch and Pokemon Go: Let's Go Pikachu! Edition. Gameplay is friendly and easy to understand for new Pokemon players, and engaging enough for players who are more drawn towards the reaction type gameplay versus pure turn-based that Pokemon is known for. The catching Mechanics, while unique to this branch of Pokemon was expressed to be exciting, challenging and engaging enough to entertain my FPS-Oriented Husband! Purchased the Digital Download Code version and the Code was printed to my Receipt as well as directly e-mailed to me in-case I'd lost the Receipt. The email was already waiting for me at home!

I bought this game because it’s Pokémon and it was on sale. There are a few hitches with this game, however. Motion controls! You have to play the game in handheld mode or with separate joy cons. You have to aim your switch at the Pokémon to catch it, or mimic tossing a Pokeball with your joy cons. I was so disappointed when I sat on my couch with my pro controller and it didn’t work. No random encounters anymore. If you run into a Pokémon in the woods, it’s entirely up to you because now you see them in the grass. That’s cool I guess but you can’t do battle with wild Pokémon anymore, I believe. You can only catch them. I suppose that makes the game look better so kids aren’t wandering into the woods with their trained Pokémon beating up Pokémon without a home, but it’s a kid’s game based on cockfighting in the first place. It’s incredibly watered down from the Game Boy original with elements of Pokémon Go, and I walked away from that game a week after it came out, so I’m pretty bummed at how this turned out. I’d give it 2 1/2 stars if I could because it’s still a well built Nintendo game, I just don’t like how it plays. So benefit of the doubt- 3/5 stars.

Wasn’t too hot on this game at first, but now that I’ve progressed further in I’m liking it more. Traditional battles versus other trainers are still part of the game, it’s just that the method for encountering and catching wild Pokémon has been changed to the Go method of throwing balls and using berries to calm them down. I’m not a fan of the fact that Pokémon go into your inventory now and must be managed like other items, sending copies of Pokémon to Professor Oak in exchange for stat boosting candies. I’ve yet to run out of space for Pokémon so I don’t know if it’s possible to run out of room for them. So far this game has been a mostly faithful re-creation of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow with some glaring changes (like no more annoying Gary). This time around the player gets to name your rival, if you want to call him that, and he’s less of an antagonist like Gary and more like another ordinary kid out to be a Pokémon Master. Only time will tell if he changes. I also love that they have Alola forms of Pokémon in this game from Pokémon Sun and Moon. I’ve discovered that you can import Pokémon from Pokémon Go into Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu/Eevee (but only Pokémon from the Kanto region and, for whatever reason, Meltan). After doing this for the first time, I got a Mysterious Box in Pokémon Go that, after using, started making Meltan appear at my feet. The effect lasted for 30 minutes and I managed to catch 15 of them before the effect wore off. Now that I know that this works, I don’t need to worry about version exclusive Pokémon AND I’ll be able to get Pokémon that normally you could only get once per playthrough (such as the Fossil Pokémon or Eevee’s evolutions).

My six year old and eight year old love to play Let's Go Pikachu. It entertains them for hours. My spouse says catching the Pokémon seems a little harder but that just means the kids are entertained for a little longer. It is a beautiful game and I know all kids will love it.

This was the first real full story pokemon game I've ever played in my life (besides the mobile app). Super approachable and easy to figure out, and a great source of nostalgia for long time pokemon players such as my partner that grew up with all the games.

This is a great game. It's just like the older Pokemon games but there are subtle changes to make it different enough. They have not made it very difficult but it is still very fun. Awesome for someone that's just getting into Pokemon or someone thats a long time fan.

A great version of Kanto to play through, simple game to understand and a great time.

My kids are 7 & 10, they love this game! Easy to play. My only suggestion is to not waste money like I did on the Poké Ball controllers that a different gaming store talked me into. The game is easy to play without them.

I've been playing since Red and Blue and I kind of expected this one to be a let down, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. There's a lot more depth to the game than I expected, even though a lot of features were cut. But the game can get very easy if you let it. My advice for experienced gamers is to go into this game with a few rules for yourself to follow in order to make it more fun.

I know a lot of people have an issue with these games as not being real pokemon games, here's the truth: The only thing this game doesn't have is level grinding. Other than that its like pokemon yellow. instead of battling wild pokemon to level grind, you just need to catch pokemon. So yes this game definitely is easier. But as you catch wild pokemon, your pokemon get exp points. and it doesn't matter which pokemon you catch. If you catch a Pidgey, your pikachu gets exp points. I also like that you can have 2 players playing and battling making it easier too. I think it's a great game for someone to experience the old pokemon games in a new updated way. The graphics also look beautiful!! Lot of reviews i saw said not to buy it, but i'm glad i did!

I own Pokemon Eeve and Pikachu edition. It was good to relive the golden moments of pokemon with updated graphics and new mechanics. This version of pokemon is fun to play and very easy to complete.

At first I didn't really want to get this game because it seem like nothing new and not as fun looking as other pokemon games but until best buy had a steelbook special with purchasing this game then it convinced me to buy it and I'm glad I did because of how updated it is and how much fun it is to play with family and friends because of the 2 player mode also it has loads of content. spoilers like different story (than the rest of kanto related games) pokemon from the sun and moon games, mega evolution, candy to make pokemon more stronger, HD content, meeting old protagonists from the original pokemon gameboy.

This reminds me of the early days with Pokemon Red and Blue on Gameboy Color. Very similar to the original with modern features that came from Pokemon Go involved. Being able to see your pokemon pull off attacks in a better graphical way then the gamebody gave you, and also the interaction with them on a personal bonded trainer level makes this game very amazing. its nice to be able to relive this on the big screen. Overall i have been addicted to playing it since i got it! You can even send pokemon over from GO to this game! Although careful what you send because it tends to be random and will nerf their strength! But overall very pleased, very fun game, and will be even better when i need to take my switch with me on the road to keep myself entertained at times!

I bought this game for my myself and it plays the same original storyline of Pokemon Yellow but with the option of choosing Pikachu or Eevee. It's fun and the catch system is different from the original which makes it easier. I got my friend's kids into Pokemon and it was their birthdays coming up (turning 8 and turning 5) and I figured this would be a great game to get them introduced to the gameplay of Pokemon and it's co-op! They both enjoy it and when I come over they love showing me their game progress and their pokemon they have caught so far. It's great!

Great game! My bf and I both love it (we are 28 and 29). We also bought the Pokeball Plus, which connects to this game and to Pokémon Go. We both send our pokémon from Pokémon Go on our phones to the Lets Go Pikachu game, and we can catch them and play with them in the switch game. The pokémon go game gets us outside in the yard and woods walking around, then at night we'll settle in to move the pokémon we caught in the woods to the Lets Go switch game. We can also both play this game together. When there are hard battles, we can ask the other to jump in and help. Its all very fun, this game in conjunction with Pokemon GO has been a great activity in our relationship. Thanks Best buy!
