The best Pokémon game I’ve ever played. The story is great and intriguing, the combat is action packed and visually pleasing, and the world is so fun to explore every nook and cranny. I only wish GF had gone with the zones like they did with Arceus. Yes, it’s “cool” to have the entire game loaded up at once for you to run around in but it drastically takes away from the graphics and leaves the world looking blurry at range. Once I unlocked all of the fast travel points I mostly used them, which is a load screen anyways so having to load up difference zones in exchange for better visuals and performance would have been a welcome trade off. Still a must have for Pokémon lovers and a great jumping on point for newcomers.

The gameplay is pretty good. The graphics are not as good as Legends of Arceus and there are performance issues even on the OLED Switch.

The state that this game released in is not acceptable and downright insulting. I could understand if this was a fan game or a cheep copy of Pokémon but it ISNT. How could Nintendo even allow the product to ship off in this state is beyond me. however this game isn't freshly released anymore, it had 2 whole years t bake and......its passable. But that is such a low standard for, again, THE WORLDS BIGGEST GAMMING COMPANY. As it stands Unless you are a hardcore Pokémon fan dying to see Pokémon's take on a full open world, I wouldn't suggest it. In fact Id go as far as recommend lets go over this game, at least that game had SOME effort put into it. Im only being so harsh on this game bc it has standards to maintain, which unfortunately it didn't. I hope I can speak for everyone when I say we wouldn't mind waiting an extra year or 3 between games if at bare MINUMIM they are functional. As it stands, if you want the fresh open world gameplay scarlet/violet were ATTEMPTING to go for, just buy legends Arceus, quite literally everything (besides the graphic) are outstanding.

A very lengthy and enjoyable game! Aside from performance issues, there is a lot of content and the game steers away from the traditional pokemon formula, much more freedom within this game.

Great game and a new feel for pokemon games, just wish it could be on better hardware. There are technical problems currently with the title. Maybe a patch can fix it but who knows with game freak.

Its a great pokemon game the only thing im really not a fan of is the size of the pokemon in the game i wish it was like arceus where pokemon were their actual size a little thing i personally didnt like but overall its an amazing game i think you should play this if you want to get into modern pokemon .

Great game lots to do and lots to explore. Very buggy and hoping they can fix the performance issues with a patch, but i dont think its possible. Seems like it needed more Q.A. testing before final release.

There are some technical issues but the game itself has been fun to play. It has a good story and some interesting changes in gameplay. It is the same experience as other Pokémon titles with some features.

If you dont want to play a game that has a some bugs and crashes from time to time this is one you can skip but if you can look past the bugs and the framerate you will have a great time

It has it's flaws, both gameplay-wise and performance-wise (nothing gamebreaking), but it's still a decent Pokémon game that I think most will enjoy.

This is a great game. Dont let the bad reviews let you down. The bugs in the game is the only complaint. And at best it will be patched later. People arent patient and that shows! Great game overall!

Training for competitive battling is so much easier now cause of this game

The story is really good, got me a bit emotional. But either way the play through is well made. There were some graphical bugs in the beginning but with the new updates its running smooth

Gotta catch them all! It is a great game as other pokemon games before it. The battle scne had been revamp and pokemon updated. It still has the familiar game mechanics and the great storyline.

My girlfriend loves Pokemon games and this new one has improved graphics and gameplay that she loves. It's a little buggy even months after release, but still provides many hours of fun.

Really good game, my kids love this game and you can play anytime

The new games have the oddest rate of growth in every single generation. On one hand the quality of life improvements help with training and leveling, but on the other, playing a game in late 2022 with no voice acting is jarring and unnatural in games today. Free roaming adventure, faster battles, and new Pokémon always are fun, but the challenge isn’t great, even to the point where older games proved harder to beat the AI. Story is surprisingly good. Online is still bad. Like i said, Pokémon have a lot of work to do to be better, let’s hope the future games take the good inspiration from this generation.

Great game, lots of fun. Open world, explore and play how you want to. 400+ pokemon to catch in game and 3 main quest lines. Played for over 30hrs and have barely scratched the surface!

I couldn't choose which to go with so we bought both. They are pretty much the same. Keeps you busy and its great if you like doing online raids. I haven't been able to get it connected to pokemon go for some reason but I'll keep trying. Other than that its great! You can play with friends but no chat feature but I'm sure there is a way around that I just haven't figured it out yet. I did have to get nintendo online subscription in order to play with my friends but it was only thirty something dollars for the year so not bad at all. Beware time flies so fast while playing.. hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
