Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with Pokken Tournament's smooth and deep gameplay, finding it fun and easy to pick up and play. However, some feel the game is lacking in content, particularly citing a limited roster of characters and a weak story mode. The controls are generally praised as simple and intuitive.

Different fighting style with a pokemon twist

I usually just play games when I buy them and learn as I go. However, the tutorials definitely became essential since this fighting style is completely new to me along with different move-sets depending on what battle phase you are in. Gameplay gets repetitive.

A little different than a normal fighting game I would play, Pokkén has some really cool mechanics. The local multilayer being done on the game pad/television simultaneously is very cool. This is fun to play locally, and the online works well in my experience.

I initially thought a Pokemon fighting game would end up being too simplistic, but this game showed me otherwise. It's surprisingly deep and the combat is insanely fun. I wish there were some additional modes, but the fighting itself more than makes up for that.

although this game is fun it lacks pokemon to choose from and the other factor is that one player is playing from the game pad and the other is using the tv. hope they add more pokemon and other modes as well.

My son and his friends love this game! They played it for hours when we first got it and it is still their go-to game. The only negative that I've heard from them so far is the limited number of characters, but we suspect that future releases will introduce more.

Pokken Tournament is super fun and brings a whole new experience to the Pokemon world. My only gripe about the game was the lack of Pokemon to fight with, but I assume they did it this way to pave the way for DLC characters.

I never looked too much into Pokemon. I thought for some reason this was a kids game. After my son purchased it, I was surprised to the amount of violence in it. I guess I will have to pay more attention to the ratings on the boxes of future games.

It's pretty fun game and my kid enjoys it, it's definately new twist with having control of the Pokemon, not a huge fan of it as its like a Tekken Tournamant style game. Was hoping for more like Pokemon stadium.. But oh well. Still a good buy

This game is perfect whether u love pokemon or love a fighting game. There is enough depth to keep u learning and is easy to pick up and learn to play as well. Give it a try, it's worth it and I highly recommend it.

Game plays great once you learn to deal with the inherent latency all fighting games have. Hopefully they add more playable characters in DLC packs in the future, as the roster aren't my top picks for what I'd want in a fighting game such as this.

This game is accessible to all skill levels. No fighting game experience required. It takes two properties and melds them together..it's not taken and not quite pokemon while still remaining it's pokemon character.

I was torn on this game and didn't think it was worth it. Then, at a store, I saw a kid playing it and having the time of his life. My friend decided on a whim to purchase it and we had many great times ahead of us.

My son is a huge pokeman fan, so I bought this. He really likes the battling. Our wii is broken so we cant use the online portion, but he can still use the battle feature without competing with others.

This game is not easy to learn. You may as well just button mash, haha. Too much to learn for a fighting game and too complicated to fall in love with as a casual player. I don't know what kind of player this game was made for!

This game at face value can pretty much be played by mashing any button and seeing who dies first. However, for those who want to learn the ins and outs it is a very complex system that isn't too though to master.

It's exactly what you think, a great Pokémon battle game. I haven't played it that much so I haven't found any unlockable content but there are some. The best suggestion I can make is to watch some of the game play and judge for yourself.

Great game. Can be as deep as you make it. They have also made it accessible for the little ones so that they can also progress in the game. I have not played it online but other reviews have been good. If you like Pokemon it's a no brainier.

Not like other Pokemon games. You battle with the Pokemon not telling them what to do. I just gives it other look and different playing. Just love this game. If your a big Pokemon gamer. You'll like this one.

I have had a fun time playing this game. I wasn't expecting it to be as fun as it was. There is a lot to do and all ages seem to enjoy it. If you like Pokemon or fighters like tekken you will enjoy this game
