Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with Pokken Tournament's smooth and deep gameplay, finding it fun and easy to pick up and play. However, some feel the game is lacking in content, particularly citing a limited roster of characters and a weak story mode. The controls are generally praised as simple and intuitive.

Is Pokken Tournament the most beautiful game ever made? Not even close. Is it a novel concept? Nope. Pokken Tournament is something much greater: an exceptional GAME. Nintendo and Bandai Namco have made a brilliant fighting game that handles amazingly and runs great on the Wii U. It's nowhere near as beautiful as a "Street Fighter V" for example, but it is a game that 10 years from now people will look back on as a legendary Wii U title.

I really feel for the pokemon after playing this game. The torture that those trainers put them through is horrific. They should all be charged with war crimes.. Really fun game though.

    Best Pokemon spinoff out there!

This is by far my favorite Pokemon spinoff game I've ever played. The idea if a Pokemon fighting game has been around since the street fighter era, many fan games and kick starters have come but this is the real deal. Pokemon, Street fighter, and Tekken just had a baby and it's beautiful. Gameplay is tough to learn but a great payoff, and the game looks incredibly realistic and is completly worth the buy! Five out of Five!

Can't believe this series is still running. Anyways, my nephew loves Pokémon so it was the perfect gift for his Birthday. He definitely will have a ton of fun with this game.

    Great Fighting Game

Pokken Tournament is a great traditional 1 on 1 fighting game. It's simple enough that anyone can pick it up and have a good time, but complex enough that you will keep coming back for more. The only negative is that for $60, there aren't a lot of characters or modes outside regular battles, but there is a single player tournament mode, and support for 2 player local and online battles. Overall I recommend it if you're looking for another great Wii U game.

After a while combat gets repetitive. Voice acting isn't great. The graphics are good and combat is simple.

Pokemon Game of a Life Time

I have been looking forward to a fighting game with pokemon or vice versa for years. It's hard to play at first, but the controls and layout are super intuitive and there should be no problems after they play a bit of the game and a bit of the tutorial. The game does drop in frame when playing local multiplayer. Low character count, but I can live with that. Hopefully it gets some DLC characters!

Good graphics, good gameplay if you're into fighters. Not really enough fighters to make the game feel full. The mewtwo amiibo card is cool.

My kids are getting into Pokémon now and I thought that this might be fun for them to play, and being a gamer I was a little intrigued too. Pokken Tournament puts an interesting twist on the fighting genre With it's unique dual fighting modes within each battle. The controls take some getting used to and the selection of characters is not that large. Overall it is a fun game and it gives my kids a new reason to fight with each other.

You have never seen Pokemon look this good. I have loved every moment of watching characters like Machamp and Pikachu duke it out in a fighting style that has never been possible before now. I have never been a big fan of traditional fighting games, but this game, with its phase shifts and other features, gives you the freedom and adrenaline that most other fighting games fail to offer.

Supercalloufragilisticexpialidocious. One word, for one great game. It is actively challenging, a ton of fun and it has a rather rewarding learning curve -- and it also rewards button mashers! This is a fighting game that for the most part is fair and provides an even playing ground for all participants. If you like technical games and love Pokemon, look no further than Pokken.

Picked this up cause my step son (7) is all about Pokémon like the rest of the world right now. I was surprised at how many actions there were for each fighter. Not having played any of the Tekken games since they were in an upright, it still felt somewhat familiar. The action is fun and the Pokémon look great which is all that matters. It can be a bit complicated to learn combos but will come after playing a while.

This game has been thee most long awaited game by fans, and Nintendo has finally released a Pokemon game where the Pokemon actually fight in the arena. At first it is going to feel weird because we are so used to just clicking a button and the Pokemon doing the rest, but after a while you will learn to love just how close you can get to being a true Pokemon Trainer.
