Not worth buying the pokeball plus version

Not sure if you can still get it with the pokeball plus, but the game controls better without the motion controls. I love all the Pokémon games and this was no exception, but if you’re not a fan I’m not sure this will bring you in.

I've enjoyed playing the game and reminiscing about the old games. The most fun part of the game is comboing the catches and trying to find pokemon with the best stats. I wish you could battle wild pokemon in the wild like in the old days. The game itself is almost too easy, but worth your time if you're a fan of the series, but also could skip it and you wouldn't be missing too much.

Upon returning to the Kanto Region in this almost revamp of The Earliest Gen of Pokemon, There are so many great, upgraded nostalgic centerpieces, as well as plenty new pieces as well, smooth gameplay, and hours of fun.

The game is easy to operate. It would be great for kids learning to play Pokémon. It’s also great for those of us who haven’t been able to get recent games. The support trainer is an amazing addition to the game also.

This game hits the nostalgia buttons for me but adds new story segments and paths as you traverse Kanto in a beautiful HD look! There's callbacks to the original RBY and the anime for the fans of who started out in that generation so be on the lookout! Eevee is just teeth-rotting cute, it should be crime! Even though it has the Pokemon GO mechanics of flinging the Pokeball with motion controls, you don't really need to use them. I play the game in Handheld Mode and for me, it's better and still captures the portability Pokemon maintained throughout the 20 years. This is definitely an awesome game for those who want to get into the series and those who got into the series back then! Would most definitely recommend for upcoming Pokemon Masters!

I grew up playing Pokemon red and blue and every other subsequent game So this brought back a lot of memories However if you are looking for a challenge (or as challenging as Pokemon games get) look at Pokemon sun and moon or shield and sword or get red and blue on virtual console for the 3ds. There are only a few wild Pokemon battles in this game. wild Pokemon encounters work like Pokemon go otherwise. This I found takes away some of the challenge in this game (this made leveling extremely easy). Leveling up is made even more easy through the fact experience all is something you start with (exp all is an old item that splits experience among all Pokemon it used to be hidden and slightly difficult to get in the original games) The game is obviously marketted towards more of a female audience. Is a better introductory game for people who have never played pokemon. Pikachu and Eevee are admittedly very adorable in the game I cannot deny it. Overall the only reasons to get this game are Mild amounts of nostalgia Introduction to the game series of Pokemon And the meltan boxes for Pokemon go Otherwise get shield and sword for the switch

the change to overworld pokemon spawning needs to be a new focus of the core series. the capture mechanics are fine, but great for those just getting into the series. it's definitely much easier than previous games, which are already easier, but it's adorable with pokemon who follow you around and easy to complete the pokedex in 30 hours or so.

My son enjoyed the game. It's a lot of reading but doesn't have complex words. A map would have been helpful. We got lost a few times and he needed my help a few times to figure out where to go next.

The graphics are better than any of the previous Pokemon games, very nostalgic and fun to play! However, in this game you can no longer battle wild pokemon (with a few exceptions) and instead you must capture them to gain experience and progress in the game However, you can still battle trainers you find along the way, as well as challenge Team Rocket, gym leaders, and finally the Elite 4 (just like in the original game) The most exciting new feature to me is the ability to ride on or walk alongside your pokemon (like in HeartGold/SoulSilver but now you can mount certain pokemon too) Overall, I'd say this game is worth the buy and definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of the series, especially of the 1st gen games.

This is a remake of the first Pokemon game. The only complaints are that they removed the original battle system for a more simpler approach. If you can overlook that, the game is fantastic and looks great.

This is the best way to revisit your childhood experiences with Pokemon, and this experience has enough depth for veterans and newcomers alike. Plenty of battling, and I love the pokemon in the overworld.

Haven’t played Pokémon in years. This game is a great game for the Switch. I feel like eevee is truly a powerful Pokémon in this game. Two player mode might be boring for the second player since their character does not interact/activate wild Pokémon nor the other characters. The second player only walks around, catches and battles. My little cousins argued a bit who would be the first and second player as they would disagree at times which Pokémon to catch (the first player basically decides what Pokémon to catch and who to battle). But over all, for me on my account, I enjoyed this video game for being simple but yet fun. Encountered a few shinies. I haven’t played it on the go yet nor have I completed it.

I like the visuals and art style of the game, the story is pretty average for a Pokémon game. The only things I dislike is the mechanic for catching and training Pokémon through gaining exp from catching wild Pokémon. If you don't have a problem trying a new take on Pokémon then go ahead and try it.

I decided to give it a chance anyway and I've enjoyed every minute of it.This game is great. The story is the same Kanto story, the Pokemon are all the same, besides the Alolan forms.

Random battles are replaced with Pokemon appearing in the over-world with Pokemon GO style encounters. It can be frustrating at times but overall it's pretty enjoyable. Shiny hunting is much more straightforward than previous games and it can get quite addicting. Catching Pokemon is worth significant exp and you might find you're over-leveled for random battles and gyms if you spend a good amount of time catching. Overall the game isn't very challenging and there's not a whole lot to do after clearing the story. There are some "challenges" at the end but they aren't too hard. Shiny hunting gets a little easier though, and that it worth a lot of additional game time.

    Hello Eve

Hello Eve and Hello Pikachu are remakes of an old game called Pokemon Yellow which was released in the late 90s. This time, however, the developer Gamefreak decided to change the formula of the game as it takes many gameplay aspects of the famous mobile game for smartphones called POKEMON GO. Even though many die hard fans of Pokemon were angry with the changes they made (you don't battle wild Pokemon, but only trainers), when the game came out and people started to play it, it became obvious the changes were a good choice. This is the perfect 1st Pokemon game to initiate yourself on the franchise. Try it and remember to not leave your social life.

Whither you get Eevee or Pikachu from the let's go series, both will take you back to the first generation games of pokemon red and blue. This updated version follows the same story line as the first generation games of pokemon red and blue, but puts you in the shoes of a different trainer. The updated graphics and somewhat different story line makes the game interesting and fun as you travel the Kato region with Eevee, and capturing new pokemon to add to your team. Even if you have played every pokemon series, this is somewhat different and will bring back alot of good memories. If you are new to the series however, this is a pretty good starting point. Either way, it's definitely a fun game that you will enjoy and get your moneys worth out of. I would recommend checking out a review on YouTube to see gameplay and if it's for you or not if you are uncertain. Definitely a good game though and I do recommend it. Happy adventuring!

I actually bought both this version and the Pikachu version, but only because I didn't realize that the Pikachu version didn't have my favorite Pokemon in it- Bellsprout. Shut up, it's cute. Either way, this is like if Pokemon Go was made into a full console release. I have no problem with that and enjoyed it for what it was, but the idea of catching *literally every single Pokemon* is sort of weird to me. I would normally catch one Bellsprout and be done with it, but now you have to catch a million of them to make sure you get one with greats stats- or maybe even a shiny one. You also only get to battle other trainers, not other wild Pokemon. It's different. Some people hate it, some people like it, I'm a bit ambivalent to it. I liked the game and would recommend it if you have a Switch. You have to use Joy-cons to play the game, so if yours are suffering from drift or if you prefer the pro-controller you're out of luck.

I grew up playing pokémon on the gameboy back in the day when the graphics were 2D & pikachu was fat. I absolutely fell in love with this game on the switch because it made me feel like a kid again. I love that you’re able to ride on your pokémon around the city. This game brings the nostalgic feel of pokémon red, blue & yellow but it’s updates make it even more epic. I struggled to choose between let’s go pikachu & let’s go eevee, but overall i’m happy w my choice! if you’re thinking of getting this game, i highly recommend! it’s everything you would want to feel like a real pokémon trainer traveling around kanto w/ your buddy pokemon!
