Customers are saying
Customers value the added game content and the expansion pass itself, praising the inclusion of new Pokémon and the fun, engaging gameplay. However, some customers feel the price point is high relative to the content length and find the storylines somewhat underwhelming. The overall experience is considered a worthwhile addition for many Pokémon fans, despite these drawbacks.

New features and improved mechanics
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who purchased the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass for the Nintendo Switch in 2021, I can confidently say that it was well worth the investment. This add-on content added a whole new level of excitement and exploration to an already amazing game. The Expansion Pass introduced two new areas, the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra, both of which were jam-packed with new characters, stories, and, of course, Pokémon to catch. It was incredibly fun and rewarding to explore these new regions and discover all the unique challenges and battles that awaited me. One thing I really appreciated about the Expansion Pass was how it added more depth to the game's mechanics. There were new features added like the Ability Patch, which allowed me to change the abilities of my Pokémon, and the addition of new Gigantamax forms made for some epic battles. The inclusion of the Galarian Star Tournament was also a great way to team up with other trainers and test my skills.

Great Quality of Life changes for Competitive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all buying the expansion pass from Best Buy was an easy and fast process. For the expansion pass itself, make sure that you own a copy of Pokemon Sword / Shield for the Switch before buying. And when you're redeeming in the Nintendo eShop make sure to choose the correct version of the expansion pass that matches the game you own. If you pick the wrong pass you won't be able to use it with the game you own. As for content, I feel like both areas (Isle of Armor / Crown Tundra) only add a few hours each to gameplay if all you're going to do is play through the story. However, the expansion pass does shine when you're looking to play competitive battle stadium online and would like to make your pokemon competitive. They both introduce some great quality of life changes that let you raise Pokemon easier. For example, Gigantamax soup / EV resetter / Hidden Ability changer.

Pokémon !
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The most controversial series ever is back on the Switch. I really enjoyed the base game and find the DLC to be worth it for the expansion and new Pokémon added. Any Pokémon fan should enjoy this. I love the graphics and feel like this is a good direction for the future of the greatest series ever. My childhood was relived in this game and it felt great.

It’s Pokémon for better or worse
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.More of the same as which is Pokémon’s double edged sword. First expansion doesn’t really add much to the overall game just a few new mons with an even more forgettable story. 2nd expansion is the real star here with the most additions such as lairs, new legendaries and mostly all previous legendary Pokémon from past games. It also adds tournaments which add a ton of replay for folks who doesn’t take there game online.

Better Approach to Post-Launch Content for Pokémon
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I much prefer Game Freak's new DLC approach over the previous releases of a third game that always felt like a rehash of the previous pair of games for each generation. The Isle of Armor quests are pretty good. It adds a features that allow you to catch Gigantimax Pokémon or make an item that allows any Pokémon that has a Gigantimax form to Gigantimax. My favorite part of the Expansion Pass is the Max Den Raid feature found in the Crown Tundra. The story/quest in Crown Tundra is silly, but feels very "Pokémon"; so, that's OK. I've spent as much or more time in the expansion areas as I did in the base game; so, good value IMO.

Worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved both of these dlc. The isle of armor added a lot of older gen Pokémon which made it nostalgic. You also get a must have legendary Pokémon in it which is very unique and helpful throughout the game. The crown tundra dlc is great end game content and gives you so much more to play. The visuals and story lines are much better than the normal part of the game and you can catch so many legendary Pokémon and level up fast. Both dlc add dozens or hundreds of hours to the game depending on how many Pokémon you want to catch and how much you like to explore.

Definite Buy if You Love the OG Games
||Posted . The inclusion of old legendaries is amazing.

That’s pretty good
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For 30 dollars this dlc is ok. It definitely adds more hours of gameplay but it just seems like it should have been included in the main game or be listed for 20 dollars

Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion- DLC

Great way to add more content to the game.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A very fun addition to the game. I highly recommend the isle of armor. I found it to be a useful way to improve the level of my pokemon after beating all the gyms but before going to challenge Leon.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the game, how could you not love MORE of the same. New Pokémon, new area, same great fun weve come to expect from the franchise. Only downside is that it’s an additional cost. Kinda a money grab really....

Expansion pokedex not enough fun
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's ok. The fact that you are able to get an expanded pokedex is cool. The only thing is that there are no additional game plays that adds quality to the game. It was just another short task based quest.
