I think if I had known that I needed to wear a chest strap in order to use this, I might have passed on it, but to be honest I'm glad I didn't know, because once I tried it, I realised just how extremely useful this item is. To be able to keep track of my heart rate means I stay in the zone, and knowing exactly how many calories I've burned helps meet my daily goals so much easier. And all tracked in real time! I love this, and now I don't work out without it!

I was looking for a good watch to track my heart rate and calories burned during my workouts. I did a lot of research and came across this watch. It does exactly what I wanted. And you can go back to previous workouts to see the difference. The strap is comfortable and most of the time I don't even feel it on.

I've had this watch for over six months now and it is hands down one of the best purchases I've ever made. I can't believe I ever worked out without one. It functions perfectly, it's easy to use, and I find it to be extremely accurate. Knowing exactly when and how much to increase or decrease the intensity of your workout gives you so much more control over your training. You also gain a much better understanding of the efficacy of your workouts. For example, I've learned which exercises burn the most calories for me (heavy squats get my heart rate up higher than running on a treadmill does). One of my favorite features is the ability to review your stored training data directly from the watch. The workout summaries and totals are so motivating. If you have been thinking about getting one of these, do it. It is well worth the knowledge and motivation it provides.

I started using this the day I got it in the mail. It is extremely easy to set up and use right after taking out of the packaging. I do high intensity cardio (lots of jumping, running, kicking, etc I burn about 700-800 calories in a 1 hour class and 30 minutes after.. yes you are still burning even after the workout!) and have had no problem with the band slipping down. I don't even feel the band if it is on correctly. It should fit snug but not hurt. I love seeing my heart rate and that calorie count go up during a work out. It definitely motivates you to keep going and work harder. Great for people just beginning their exercising or even someone who has been exercising for awhile.

I love this hrm. It's super easy to use and a great value for the price. You can watch calories burned in real time which I think is very motivating. Other similar products are far more expensive and don't do anything more. Also this said men's. I think that's due to color. I'm a size 2 woman and it fit me fine.

My wife needed a heart rate monitor so she is not to active during her pregnancy. She loves the watch pink and purple are some of her favorite colors. She especially liked that on your birthday your watch screen is a birthday cake :) it's a great product and simple to use. All in all I think it's great and I'm Jealous.

I bought this item as a birthday present for my girlfriend since she had been asking for something like this. There are many different types of these watches and it was a difficult decision to figure out which one to get. I chose this particular unit because I liked the look of it for one, and because it was capable of keeping track of the body's vitals during the workouts, which is what she was looking for. This model features functions to measure heart rate and calories burned during the workout, among other things. This was perfect for what she needed, and this one was one of the more affordable models compared to other types on the market. The one drawback for this item is that is doesn't measure your steps or distance traveled during the workout, the more expensive model can do all of that stuff. Also, this unit is self contained meaning you can measure and monitor all of the data by just using the watch itself, and there is no need to upload the data to a phone or computer, which is how some of the other monitors work. For this unit to work, you use the elastic band to strap the heart rate monitor around your midsection (which is small enough, isn't too uncomfortable and fits nicely under the shirt) and then you wear the polar watch which communicates with the heart rate monitor tallying all of your vital information. Overall we were very happy with this purchase because it was affordable yet also very effective at keeping track of the important info, and exactly what she was looking for. This model is very comparable to other types of more expensive watches, and does virtually the same thing, save for a few extra features like I mentioned above. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good tool to measure and monitor their exercise routine vitals and body information.

I used to take exercise to keep good shape. Although I have some sense on the calorie contained in my food, but I do not know what exactly calorie I expend during my exercise. I need to know that number so as to keep the calorie input and output balance. So, I buy this device to measure the calorie for my exercise. After I buy it, I can’t wait for trying it. It has a sensor to measure your heartbeat or some other necessary info, which could reflect the extensive degree of your exercise. I guess it is in turn converted to the estimated calorie numbers. It is very easy to use, and the “Manual” document is very easy to read and follow. In addition, I think it could be used in the water, which could measure during your swimming. But I do not try it yet.

i use this watch to track my heart rate. It's easy to use. You can set high & low target heart rate range which will beep when you drop lower or higher than the set range. It's very helpful & priced very reasonably. My watch also syncs with the workout equipment at my gym & is helpful when warming up. The watch also holds workout data which is helpful in tracking workouts & progress

I was using a wrist monitor for years. It was accurate, matched at my doctors office. BUT, I ride a bicycle and in order to use it, I had to stop, put my other hand on the watch/monitor, and wait, and wait. This Polar monitor matches the accuracy of my other one, but has a constant display. All I have to do is glance at the monitor and my data is there. No stopping, no taking my eye off the road. At first, I wanted a larger face, but if it was larger, I think it would not be as comfortable and really, not much easier to read. The size is fine. I was concerned about the chest strap. The instructions on how to adjust it were a bit vague, but once I figured it out, it was simple. It does take a bit of getting used to, but after it is on for about 20 minutes, you don't even think about it. It is not uncomfortable. It's just there and you don't notice it. Also, it does not move about. It does stay in place. Overall, I am happier with it than I thought I would be.

Great watch for the price. Amazing product . Shows cals burned heart rate. Comes with a heart rate transmitter nd belt . Seems pretty durable. Would have give 5 stars if it had the capability to send data to my phone which is common for other smart watches these days.

It's fascinating to see how heartrate responds during physical exertion...this is a wonderful tool. I was worried the chest strap would annoy me, but it doesn't. Instructions were clear, and it works like a charm....pretty foolproof operation. I have now figured out my resting heart rate, max heart rate and various target zones for workouts. I am like my own physiology lab now. It's a better tool than I thought it was going to be. This is not the most advanced Polar HR monitor model, but was a good price for me (on sale) and solidly delivers the most important feature: heartrate reading. The session time, max HR avg HR, cal burned, minutes in target zone are also interesting to see. Criticism: The watch strap is somewhat inflexible plastic, feels a little stiff on the wrist, and if it breaks, you can't replace the band.

This heart rate monitor is great. It's easy to input the user's settings (age, weight, height, etc.). It tracks your heart rate in beats per minute, or by capacity used. It tells you how many calories you burned, and the chest strap is very comfortable - you don't even notice you're wearing it. You are also able to transfer the data from the watch to the polar personal trainer site with the FT7 model, which allows you to keep snapshots of your workouts along with training load graphs. But you have to buy the separate Polar FlowLink data transfer product to do this. However, I think it's worth it. I'll wear my heart rate monitor when I'm doing yard work, playing on my kickball league, going for walks, spin class...just about any physical activity. Also, if you have Humana health insurance, you may be eligible for their Humana Vitality program which you can link to polar personal trainer account. You then get points with Humana Vitality for each workout, and get to use the points to buy things on the Humana Vitality website. Just a little more incentive to get one and start working out!

My husband and I both bought one. They have worked really well. We have had them for just about a year. Recently, mine has started to lose connection of my heart rate. I have tried to tighten the band across the chest and I have changed the battery, and still losing heart beat. I am going to try and position it to the left of my chest vs. in the middle of my chest to see if that helps. My husband stopped using his , but not because it wasn't working. He was losing focus on his run, continually checking to see if his heart rate was too high or too low.

I did not understand why other reviews were saying how accurate until I received the watch. A fair statement is that there is a HEART RATE MONITOR BAND that comes with the watch - meaning you have to wear it during your work out in order to track calories burned. That being said, it is EXTREMELY accurate and I love using it! It is exactly what I wanted.
