Customers find value in the FT7 Men's Heart Rate Monitor's accurate heart rate tracking and ease of use. Many appreciate its reasonable price and the ability to track calories burned and workouts. However, some users mention discomfort with the chest strap and the lack of GPS functionality as drawbacks. The product's water resistance and long battery life are also frequently praised.

I have had heart rate monitore before, but it was time to step-up to one with a strap. I have been very pleased. This monitor works with both the eliptical and step machine at my gym. Easy setup and clear display. It has already helped to improve my workouts.

    Great Heartrate Monitor

This is not a watch that will track steps. However, if you looking only for an accurate heart rate monitor and calorie burn computer this is it. I had an FT7 prior to this but the band broke after several years of use. I could have sent it into a dealer to have fixed but didn't want to wait for the turn around time. So I bought another one.

Great heart rate monitor for the price. It is great how it connects to the treadmill and other equipment at the Gym. I wish it had some of the other features on the upper end models, but then I should have bought that one instead. I do wish it had an alarm/stopwatch, which could have been easy to include. And maybe a lap feature, but again, get a different more expensive model.

    Just what I wanted

I bought the fitbit flex thinking that it was worth the almost 100 dollars, but it just wasn't for me. I wanted to see the actual calories burned per workout and the pedometer seemed way off. With the FT7 I know the calorie count is correct and the band is comfortable. I am very happy with my purchase and it's great motivator to workout and reach my goals.

Love the watch it keeps track of your workouts and gives you summaries. Would be nice if it kept track of your mileage when you run but the more expensive ones do that. Would recommend it for anyone trying to track workouts and calories burned.

Easily view your heart rate, calories burned, and time, of course. The included strap doesn't even bother me. Great buy.

Fairly intuitive buttons. Easily syncs with the sensor. Really nice the chest strap can be cleaned. Works great with Lifefitness treadmills.

Does not transfer data to computer alone

    Posted .

While the watch does what it's suppose to do, the data transfer option is very misleading. You actually have to purchase a Polar FlowLink device which costs at least an additional $50 in order to download your workouts. I bought this watch specifically for the data transfer and was disappointed when I realized you couldn't download anything without the FlowLink. In fact, the directions tell you to type in your workouts online to track them. The Garmin FR70 does exactly what this watch does for the same price but comes with a USB to download your workouts. Once downloaded, you can easy name, categorize and measure your workouts. I'd recommend the Garmin product instead.

Anyone looking for a nice fitness watch to track your heart rate and calories burned should NOT purchase this item! The heart rate monitor band you have to wear is impossible. I have attempted to use this thing for at least 10 workouts and got it to actually register my heart rate 2 of those times...and both times the band still popped off and I had to restart it. The band either pops off during my high impact workouts (Turbo Jam) or I loosen it and it's not tight enough to stay in place. I'm extremely disappointed in this product. If I am doing something wrong, someone please tell me! $60+ down the drain :(

I am very pleased with this purchase. The Polar ft7 has worked well for me. It has helped me keep my heart rate up when I have been at the gym and at home on my equipment. This is a great a tool to help with exercise.

Syncing to website is a challenge

I love the heart monitor part of this, but I also bought the unit that allows you to sync your data to the website so you can track progress. I have had nothing but trouble with this. First day or two it worked fine. Then the site didn't acknowledge the password I had set up. Then it would occassionally acknowledge the password. Then the company changed my password. Now I can log into the site but my data does not show.

    Stops Working Frequently

    Posted .

I had a Polar FT4 for a couple of years before it gave out on me and I replaced it with an FT7. I've had the FT7 for less than 2 months and it frequently stops working correctly during exercise. The heart rate reading on the watch drops to zero or gives an obviously incorrect low rate. I occasionally had this same issue with the FT4 after an hour of so of exercise, but the FT7 does it on a regular (almost daily) basis and does it much sooner into my running or spinning routine. I would not recommend a Polar heart rate monitor of any kind and will not ever buy one again - wouldn't even take one for free at this point.
